  1. Just summon an AL Central team to play the Sox and suddenly catch fire...
  2. 2-13 vs. the AL Central and Bubic statistically has been their best pitcher with a 1.98 ERA heading into tmrw. They can't even succeed at following the plot of Major League as attendance has now pretty much leveled out at the bottom and Campfire Milkshakes/City Connect are carrying the revenues...
  3. He has taken over the role of Sal Perez as Sox Killer...well, it's not like he isn't one of the Top 3-5 players in the entire sport at least. Cease no hitter in the Bronx through 6. 77 pitches. Bottom of the 7th will be the biggest challenge, until the line-up turns over again.
  4. https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/runs-per-game There are still five teams with less runs scored per game than the Sox. The Royals are among them, Rangers, Rockies (in Colorado???), Pirates and shockingly, the Blue Jays At this pace, the White Sox are likely to end up 26th after the night.
  5. Might want to be a bit more careful with Witt than that...lol. No reason to pitch to him there, except for the theoretical threat of a suddenly hot/ter Pasquantino.
  6. Even Royals' fans might be tempted to ask for a refund... But at least we have Nick Maton back from Charlotte, who was OPSing around 400 last time I checked the numbers.
  7. Have been watching the new Netflix series on the Red Sox. He's peripherally a character so far, mostly because of his TJS. Cam Booser gets quite the storyline....already knew most of the details, but to see it via video, especially his first incredulous call up to the big leagues and pretty sure his first win or save was against the White Sox in Chicago (leading to Cora's "let's get out of this shithole" comments.
  8. Cease has a no-hitter for 6 in the Bronx... This particular game is lulling everyone to sleep, lol.
  9. At least they'll be getting a bigger Federal budget...McCovey Cove becomes Capone Cove and any reliever with gas becomes Machine Gun XYZ.
  10. Palacios RF Vargas 1B Robert CF Thaiss C Vaughn DH Baldwin LF Rojas 3B Sosa 2B Amaya SS Cannon vs. Wacha Bench: Meidroth Taylor Quero Maton (not Elko) back
  11. But when you include 2023 it evens out...doesn't it?
  12. "You simply don't go 19 months without winning in Kansas City on accident. For the first seven innings Tuesday night, the Royals' turbo-aggressive approach against Sean Burke didn't put the White Sox into the sort of deficit they've grown used to facing at Kauffman Stadium. No matter, as after a slapped Josh Rojas RBI single put the White Sox up 3-1 in the eighth, larger forces simply sucked both teams into their natural landing place like a tractor beam." soxmachine.com James Fegan White Sox now 2-12 against the AL Central...and a 45-117 pace (4 game improvement).
  13. We are all Cyclones today. Always astounded at the ability of sports to bring people together from all different walks of life, bridging differences across the societal spectrum. Also, whenever I think of the Cyclones...tremendous respect for the passion of their fans and especially Hilton Magic. And, if you're a parent (or not)...always an important reminder when something tragic and sudden happens like this to not take all the blessings in one's life for granted. I didn't know him nearly so well like all the mods here who kind of reached adulthood and then many parenthood in their 30s and early 40s...but he always seemed like a very kind and likable person based upon his posting style.
  14. https://www.mlb.com/video/cam-booser-in-play-no-out-to-drew-waters
  15. Mullins is turning 31 this year, versus Luis Robert being 27 and just entering his 3-4 prime years, THEORETICALLY. Plus, speed-based players almost always start to decline beginning in their early 30's post steroids.
  16. Looks a bit like an Andrew Vaughn stance there...maybe the bat's even more angled downwards to start off with.
  17. Or Tristan Gray for Amaya...who we just can't seem to quit, even after we DFA'ed him, then the woeful Orioles also cast him adrift so we just HAD to pick him up YET AGAIN.
  18. MLB > Leaderboards > Team Bullpen Rankings This is a sorted list of the best bullpens in baseball according to THE BAT's context-neutral projected 'true talent' ERA. This incorporates, among other things, regression, multiple weighted years of data, aging, velocity, minor league and foreign league data, and adjustments to account for the quality of opposing hitters, ballparks, umpires, weather, pitch-framing, defense, and more for each reliever on the team, weighted by projected innings pitched over the remainder of the season. Note that this includes not just the current members of the bullpen, but all pitchers expected to pitch in relief over the course of an entire season. https://evanalytics.com/mlb/leaderboards/team-bullpen-rankings White Sox 30th https://www.covers.com/sport/baseball/mlb/statistics/team-money/2025 Hey, at least we're ahead of the Pirates and WAY ahead of the Rockies here!!! Padres, Cubs, Guardians, Tigers, Royals #1-5 SF, NYM, SAC/ATH, Seattle, LAD make up #6-10 (all pretty big budgets other than the A's)
  19. Send Baldwin to ACL. Seriously, he took an outside pitch and went with it instead of trying to pull...and found the open hole. Nice situational execution there. The problem is 245/667 with his defensive profile still ends up with around a 0.1 to -0.1 fWAR profile.
  20. Quero piling up the K's recently... Can Palacios actually get TWO hits in a single game? He and Taylor look almost the same statistically. Which isn't exactly a good thing.
  21. You don't make the argument that Cedric Mullins is the last missing piece in the line-up to take down the Dodgers...
  22. Of course, they also play INFIELD IN just when you think they should be at double play depth as well...lol
  23. Got in on Witt's hands....great job by Burke so far. Offense, not so much. And then if it becomes a bullpen game....
