  1. Let's see if Meidroth bunts or figures out how to advance the runners here. "These are not the droids you're looking for." Aiyo.
  2. Baldwin really needs to stop with this bunting stuff unless he figures out how to actually execute it under game conditions.
  3. Burke at 4.63 ERA is about what the consensus was coming into the year...although a lot of saber predictions were in the high 4's and low to mid 5's for ERA.
  4. At the rate they're going, Wikelman Gonzalez or Scholtens will be their next starter in the Wilson spot. Unless they convert Vasil, which would be pretty dumb with how comfortably he's pitching as the swing man out of the bullpen...
  5. Fletcher, DoCF 3 0 0 0 0 3 .272 .826 JulksLF 2 1 1 1 1 0 .354 .997 Elko1B 2 0 2 1 1 0 .346 1.096 What else can he freakin' do???? Tristan Gray also has an .888 OPS, try ANY of them, but Elko's clearly most deserving.
  6. Once again, our two best pitchers, at least statistically, are Rule 5 picks. Booser, arguably the third best...at least a lively armed LHP, albeit with command/control issues. What can you expect from a bullpen of AAAA/journeymen types...when you don't invest ANY new money there?
  7. Nope...he has almost nothing to work with. As they said during the Nats/Indians' broadcast today, you can't be a good manager with a bad/horrific bullpen (see Dave Martinez). Also, when your GM refuses to allow one of your hottest hitting prospects to give it a try, it's very demoralizing for the rest of the minor leaguers. Guys like Corey Julks (yes, he would have to be put on the 40 man again) and Tristan Gray really can't do any worse than Amaya or Palacios. Even if they did, you have to maintain the belief that if your play merits it, you'll get your shot in the big leagues eventually.
  8. Schweitzer roughed up again. Thankfully there's J.Scholtens back to save the day. "Colson Montgomery singles on a ground ball to center fielder Hayden Alvarez. Jurdrick Profar scores." 1/8 so far, might have the GW RBI if the bullpen can hold it. 5-4 AL WSX
  9. He or Ohtani are definitely their offensive MVPs so far. 117.9 ev homer from Shohei already this week...catching fire again. You can pretty much guarantee Andrew Friedman can fix whatever he needs to with that impressive/deep farm system and virtually unlimited financial resources.
  10. At least we are better than Nats' bullpen lol...only surrendered six to the Guardians so far today. Then the CLE pen promptly gave back 4 lol...Smith and Gaddis. Still second game of DH left to go. And we don't have Devin Williams either.
  11. Montgomery 0/4 K...needs to break through with a hit soon, or things will just continue to spiral.
  12. Pages one of the hottest hitters in baseball but that won't deter them. Plus Conforto has been NOT so good.
  13. I guess I should have said his numbers are misleading...we already have Bergolla/Bonemer and about five or six more 625-725 ops infielders, so really need more quality outfield depth than just Braden. Zavala and Wolkow not exactly lighting the world on fire, either.
  14. Not convinced. KC swept season series last year...at least all the the home games.
  15. Probably hiding him and Robert from a tough match up. That doesn't explain Vaughn though.
  16. Wasn’t Arroyo the target last time? Hasn’t he been pretty abysmal at the plate?
  17. https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-bulls-city-connect-uniforms-years-in-the-making Boyer and Merkin really working hard to sell jerseys lol. Jordan is not going to come to Chicago to help JR hawk merchandise lol.
  18. I thought it was that they didn’t need Robert…maybe missing the sarcasm. Friedl and Dunn are at least +0.5.
  19. On the plus side, Profar RBI double, then scored all the way from second on an errant pickoff attempt from the catcher. Looks on Gameday like an intentional walk from the reliever to face Colson with runners at first and second. He popped up...at least not a K. Yendy Gomez rhp (not lefty, which would make more sense) that walked the previous hitter to face Montgomery.
  20. At least Robert and Elly de la Cruz paired together would be a whole lot of fun potentially for Reds/baseball fans. They obviously know Robert is more talented than TJ Friedl...can he actually live up to it, though?
  21. https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/splits/_/id/34873/seth-lugo Robert 0/7 3 k's vs. Lugo nobody with a career OPS over 600 against for that matter...what are the betting odds here again? The Royals, at -220, are the favorites in this matchup, while the White Sox are underdogs at +180. This game carries an over/under of 8.5 runs (over -115; under -105). Over here seems a bit high when both teams are averaging in mid 3s and Sox offense looks to be shut down again. Really have to count on an explosion from KC offense at home.
  22. Every game you tell yourself the offense can't look much worse, but Thaiss in the 3 hole and this mysterious fascination with Palacios???...doesn't take much convincing to think a Greg775 house bet is in order here. Otog, I guess telling yourself There's maybe just four "questionable" hitters rather than the normal 5-6...but who would Lugo actually fear facinLike this lineup? Who's going to impact the ball? 23. Let's see where Mullins and Robert are then. If Robert looks like 2023 version at that time...those two options years become much more enticing for big market teams.
