https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/dec/15/america-extreme-poverty-un-special-rapporteur This is how we know Trump is winning...there are so many day-to-day distractions that stories and pictures like these will never be covered by the mainstream media. This thread will probably not receive a single comment, in fact. Just that picture of the WV man’s teeth is going to haunt me for awhile.

Which is why a team actually playing the game in a fundamentally-sound manner (see Twins of 2002-2006) is going to be the next niche to exploit by a smart manager, and also part of the reason for the Madrigal draft selection.

1) Weaken NATO and the European Union so they can operate with impunity...check 2) Create chaos/discord/disharmony in the US (giving American leaders less time to focus on Russia)...check 3) Cause voters to question whether elections are rigged/interfered with, so they don’t even show up to vote at all...check 4) Do things like build transnational/transcontinental pipelines while everyone else is too distracted to pay attention...check 5) Continue to box the US in by working with China and other like-minded UN countries...check 6) Drive a further wedge between the US and Europe...Trump tariffs would never have been imposed by Clinton, same with pulling out of Paris Climate Accords, etc. 7) Focus on US takes away from investigations into anti-democratic activities in Russia, such as silencing the media through threats and assassinations, bogus elections, Ukraine invasion, shooting down jetliners, etc.

Something about the Founding of our country, separation of church and state, fleeing from religious persecution from the Anglicans, etc. Of all people who are sensitive to the slights suffered by Christians every day, you would think we would be more sensitive to the majority religion in the US trying to impose its view/s on the rest of the country. For example, this story: https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/walgreens-pharmacist-refused-give-woman-medication-help-miscarriage-183652430.html Greg, should a Christian pharmacist be allowed to keep his job after refusing to prescribe a medicine for inducing the end of a pregnancy after suffering a terribly traumatic (ask any woman or mother) miscarriage? The irony is she wasn’t even attempting to terminate a viable pregnancy, the fetus no longer had a heart beat and couldn’t stay in her uterus without endangering the health of the baby. It’s stories like this or the oddlers separated from their mothers that will get the GOP soundly beaten in the fight for the women’s vote.

Imagine if Democratic candidates encouraged audiences to “lock the Trumps up!” at every rally for two plus years, he would probably either try to have them incarcerated or call out the Guard because it was “in the national interest.”

This will really get Greg riled up.... Yet, according to (ethics chief) Walter Shaub, using Sanders’ official WH account (@PressSec) broke government ethics rules. “Sarah, I know you don’t care even a tiny little bit about the ethics rules, but using your official account for this is a clear violation of 5 CFR 2635.702(a),” Shaub wrote. “It’s the same as if an ATF agent pulled out his badge when a restaurant tried to throw him/her out.” He added that she also broke the endorsements ban rule too because she “used her official govt account to condemn a private business for personal reasons.” Sanders used her official govt account to condemn a private business for personal reasons. Seeks to coerce business by using her office to get public to pressure it. Violates endorsements ban too, which has an obvious corollary for discouraging patronage. Misuse reg covers both. Opening sentences of 5 CFR 2635.702 cover both; 702(a) gives example of coercion; 702(c) gives example of endorsement. Also 2635.101(b)(8) bars preferential treatment, with obvious corollary for singling out. She can lob attacks on her own time but not using her official position or government Twitter account. https://www.mediaite.com/online/former-ethics-chief-calls-sarah-sanders-tweet-about-getting-booted-from-red-hen-clear-violation-of-ethics-rules/

For example, a 1.6 fWAR described Moncada’s performance around the end of April. It obviously didn’t (and couldn’t) predict he would be sitting much closer to 1 than an “extrapolated” 4-5 fWAR just two months later.

Pretty similar numbers (at this point) to his last Sox half-season...

Isn’t Dr. James Andrews based out of Birmingham...? Didn’t realize he’s already 76 years old now.

Former Arkansas Republican governor Mike Huckabee is facing allegations of racism after he tweeted a photo on Saturday of five men who appear to be using hand signs associated with the MS-13 gang with the caption, "Nancy Pelosi introduces her campaign committee for the take back of the House." https://mobile.twitter.com/GovMikeHuckabee/status/1010497564435730434?ref_src=twsrc^tfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F2018%2F06%2F23%2Fpolitics%2Fmike-huckabee-ms13-pelosi%2Findex.html https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/23/politics/mike-huckabee-ms13-pelosi/index.html

Race for the worst 2018 record (Top 5 pick) again

He’s actually hitting for a higher average (.397 to .395) than Madrigal...quite amazing for a power hitter. -

And KC is contemplating a Heimlich signing, which is quite interesting because Dayton Moore’s an evangelical/born again Christian. Larnach in Minnesota, Madrigal w the Sox...all the Central needs is SS Grenier. -

Dunn, LaRoche and Eaton? Or Engel? -
That's why the whole narrative of taking advantage of Rizzo can suddenly look much different a year or two later. Everyone loves this move a lot more than the Sale trade...but pitching is so fickle, so many injuries. That doesn't mean we still have any clue where these 3 will be in 2021, but just goes to prove the axiom you can never have too much pitching. And Kopech/Cease were the guys that would have been least surprising to get injured with how hard they both throw.

Kushner companies are still swimming in debt on that 666 Bldg...theyve tried to offload it to a Chinese insurance company which later was nationalized for risky financial moves like buying the Waldorf Astoria, various Middle Eastern banks and sovereign wealth funds, Russia, Deutsche Bank, etc. When you give foreign entities financial sway over your personal finances, the possibilities for influencing Trump admin policy are endless. Most recently, it played out over huge Chinese loans for a resort project in Jakarta that mysteriously had Trump bailing out ZTE telecom company days later in spite of Congress being universally against the move.

Can we see the exact quote? Don’t we hear from the right wing news media that stuff like that (Roman Polanski or Woody Allen, Corey Haim/Feldman, Spacey, etc.) has gone on for years and years in Hollywood with everyone turning a blind eye due to money and power? Where does admitting something is a problematic issue (like #metoo) equate to sanctioning or condoning it? Realistically, what would you expect Reddy do? Follow the playbook of the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas and stage daily protests?
-
That’s basically like you accusing everyone in the GOP of condoning pedophilia for not expressly condemning Judge Roy Moore...makes about as much sense, logically, to jump to that extreme conclusion.

For one thing, the profits from any international governments/officials/lobbyists using that hotel were supposed to be sequestered or donated...but that of course hasn’t happened.

http://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance Averaged has picked up by about 500 per game since last update...but it would have been truly ugly to look at yesterday’s numbers without making it a combined DH. We are doomed to battle back and forth with Pittsburgh for 26th and 27th. 26. Pittsburgh, 17,607 per game 27. White Sox, 17,414 per game KC and Detroit will eventually sink below the Sox in future years...they (KC) have two more seasons before the World Series bump wears off and attendance returns to historical norms there. Minnesota is really in trouble if they can’t manage to be competitive this year after all their moves this past offseason. Detroit could be (especially) hard hit again by a trade war affecting Big Auto and yet another recession (not as bad as a decade ago.) Hopefully in 2020/21 we are back approaching where the Phillies or Mariners are currently.

People want to know how an evangelical can support a self-proclaimed pimp,” Fuentes said in an interview at his home in Pahrump, an unincorporated town of 36,000 people that is the largest community in the sprawling, rural district where Hof is favored to win in November's general election. He said the reason was simple. “We have politicians, they might speak good words, not sleep with prostitutes, be a good neighbor. But by their decisions, they have evil in their heart. Dennis Hof (Bunny Ranch owner in NV, Cathouse reality show) is not like that." The pastor said he felt Hof would protect religious rights, among other things. In Hof's Republican-leaning district, seven evangelicals said they voted for him because they believed that he, who like Trump is a wealthy businessman and political outsider, would also clean up politics and not be beholden to special-interest groups and their money. "I’m kind of rich, I’m kind of famous, and I’m surrounded by hot chicks. I don’t give a damn what anybody says about me," Hof said. The source of Hof's wealth - he owns a strip club and five legal brothels - did not deter his supporters. Nor did the allegations by several women that Hof sexually abused them. Hof denied the accusations, including a former sex worker's claim that he raped and choked her several years ago, and the voters interviewed by Reuters dismissed them as lies. Hof was reluctant to discuss his own Christian faith. "I don't share my beliefs with the public," he said. "I don't feel the need to go to church on a regular basis." https://www.yahoo.com/news/age-trump-evangelicals-back-self-styled-top-u-112721399.html

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, the president’s daughter and son-in-law, brought in at least $82 million in outside income while serving as senior White House advisers during 2017, according to new financial disclosure forms released Monday. Ivanka Trump earned $3.9 million from her stake in the Trump International Hotel in Washington, while Kushner reported over $5 million in income from Quail Ridge, a Kushner Cos. apartment complex acquired last year in Plainsboro, New Jersey. The filings show how the couple are collecting immense sums from other enterprises while serving in the White House, an extraordinary income flow that ethics experts have warned could create potential conflicts of interests. While both Kushner and Ivanka Trump were required to file financial forms last year, it is difficult to compare their past to present wealth because there are several months of overlap in the reporting period and the Office of Government Ethics uses broad ranges to calculate assets and liabilities. https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/06/11/disclosure-jared-ivanka-made-82-million-last-year/

Rabbit, how was the Tea Party, GOP outlets like Fox/Drudge/Breitbart....any different in their obstructionism and assaults on Obama than we’re currently witnessing with Trump? Would you say that Obama deliberately on played to his base in 2009 and 2010 and 2011? What good did it do for Obama to try to work for bipartisanship when the stated strategy of the GOP was to obstruct him at every turn? What is your evidence that Trump is facing something categorically different? The only difference is approval ratings for Trump have hovered between 36-42%, for Obama 10-15 points higher.

I always thought NFL games were closer to 3-4 actual minutes of action/plays...20 seems too high.
