  1. It was weird, they were acting like they wanted to walk the weak hitting back up catcher (Knaack or whatever his name is) to get to the pitcher's spot...were calling for an intentional walk, and forgot that Realmuto was on the bench and would be hitting with the bases loaded. So then after deciding NOT to walk him, they still accidentally walked him anyway. Fry has to have been pissed that their signals got crossed.
  2. Yep, Mize and another top 2 next year. We had Rodon at 3 (bad luck), Madrigal at 4...I guess we can pretend that Robert, Moncada, Giolito, Jimenez, Kopech and Cease are all high first round draft picks. In the end, it shouldn't matter where the talent originated, and Detroit still has a few years before they can get out of the Cabrera contract.
  3. If this was the 1917 World Series, Renteria would be blacklisted for trying to throw the game to the gamblers...
  4. I’ve never seen a Latin player described as gritty, gym rat, grinder, high baseball EQ or acumen...
  5. How can you explain all the derogatory and borderline racist insults he absorbed for the rest of his career post-2010 (about his fielding)?
  6. Same argument for Bumgarner staying in the NL...
  7. He was definitely more focused out there with Vizquel next to him...
  8. Renteria claiming he wasn’t trying to walk the batter...can we be so sure, lol? Realmuto PHing, someone from the coaching staff needs to check the available bench there...anyone awake?
  9. More lowlights from the Eloy Jimenez on defense 2019 film...
  10. The one manager everyone expects would play the same style..but at least Moncada, Anderson and Madrigal would be tutored/mentored into Gold Glove-quality fielders, like he did with Alexei.
  11. Somehow, that’s sadder than anything Thad Bosley writes..they’re really just a very average team this year.
  12. I don't understand why would play for a tie game on the road in the late innings in the first place...it’s that unwritten baseball rule, like never making first or third out at 3B.
  13. Was he safe? Already used challenge? Renteria trying to keep the Phillies in the Wild Card hunt come hell or high water...
  14. Only the White Sox could put down a great bunt and the runner is still out...Phillies’ announcers chiding White Sox for over-bunting and making that play too predictable, lol.
  15. And there it is... Btw, look at Aaron SANCHEZ line tonight... 6 2 0 0 0 2 6
  16. We’re due for another “1/2” a hit the next three innings...
  17. https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=15172&position=SS FG would argue that Anderson has significantly improved on the defensive side...which is strange, because it seems his offense has been the stronger side overall.
  18. On the other hand, Candelario has really regressed at the big league level.
  19. Goins and Jay hitting 2 and 4 tonight? Just wow. 45 year old Bobby Abreu would be a better option than half our hitters...just was enshrined in the Phillies’ Hall of Fame, 2470 career hits.
  20. Velasquez certainly wasn’t in LF...or an aging Zach Greinke, who has an 883 ops in roughly 50 at bats this season.
  21. https://www.fangraphs.com/graphs.aspx?playerid=16137&position=P&pitchgraphs=true&statArr=&legend=1&split=base&time=daily&start=2017&end=2019&rtype=mult&gt1=15&dStatArray=FA&ymin=&ymax=
  22. https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=13338&position=C His offense has improve for three consecutive years and defense has worsened...that said, there’s no guarantee McCann will even be a 1.5 fWAR catcher when he was net negative his four prior seasons in Detroit, or that Colome can sustain this level of success.
  23. Rodon’s velocity was down noticeably...that was after the shoulder injury.
  24. Nothing is a piece of cake for the White Six this decade...that’s like the kiss of death.
  25. If Glasnow and Snell were both healthy they would have had a good shot at the WC...looks like near misses two consecutive years. Not so easy on fans when you do everything perfectly almost and then still have to deal with NY and Boston’s unlimited resources.
