  1. https://twinstrivia.com/2025/04/05/mlb-teams-revenue-versus-payroll/ White Sox in 29th for revenue as well as for payroll versus revenue (29th again) over the Marlins
  2. Dylan Cease with 7 shutout innings against the Dodgers tonight...exorcising some demons. ERA down to 4.28 on the season. He and Michael King continue to be in trade and extension discussions. 4.5 fWAR 2021 4.4 fWAR 2022 3.6 fWAR 2023 4.8 fWAR 2024 trending around 1.8-2.0 fWAR after tonight's game, 11 strikeouts
  3. 30-132 pace Blew a 5-3 ninth inning lead at home to the Gigantes.
  4. 5 out of their last 7 against winning teams....56-106 pace on the year.
  5. Bullpen, sure. Well, theoretically...after Grant Taylor just on stuff alone, there's no comparison. fWAR bears that out, although it's notoriously not the greatest measure for non-closers in determining value.
  6. 1-2-3 9th for Eisert's second save.
  7. Venable seems determined to give EVERYONE in that bullpen save opportunities...
  8. Michael Taylor not exactly distinguishing himself on the basepaths over the last month. Odds that possible 5th run doesn't come back to bite them in the 9th?
  9. Much better at-bats from this team in the last couple of weeks...maybe not always showing results, but battling at least. A mind-boggling 8 walks for the Sox tonight. They would go weeks at a time without doing that last year.
  10. Insurance for Vargas/Ramos at 3rd base...primarily.
  11. White Sox would be on a 56-106 pace if they hang on to win tonight.
  12. Elko .681 OPS still better than Vaughn. And the team just seems to play better overall with him in there....call it the Univ.Mississippi CWS "luck factor"
  13. Rojas' MLB days have to be numbered... Making Royce Clayton and Mark Johnson look like sluggers at the bottom of the line-up.
  14. White Sox 4/28=.143 4 runs Astros 9/28=.321 2 runs
  15. One more out to go...always the hardest.
  16. Great job, Wilson...can never be easy with this team. Poor Shane Smith always ends up losing his leads/victories in the end. Almost as snake-bitten as Skenes.
  17. White Sox version of washed-up Carlton, lol? The White Sox have to lead baseball (under JR) in HoF players in their last year or two of their big league careers.
  18. That's something you will NEVER see out of Andrew Vaughn, a stolen base. Good for Elko...bringing energy/enthusiasm to the team.
  19. The competition at SS in both leagues is way too deep, and Jacob Wilson of the A's pretty much has to go...so no Meidroth. Plus the "counting stats" police will dock him.
  20. Probably go to Sosa at first, Vargas 3B, Meidroth SS and Baldwin 2B in all likelihood. Could always bring up Ramos, but that seems more of a longshot.
  21. He wasn't getting consistent playing time, whether you want to blame Getz/Venable. Struggling with defense and fundamentals. It was the right move to let him play everyday in CHLT and get his confidence back.
  22. Rojas shouldn't be playing any position other than third. Well, really...he shouldn't be playing anywhere after they bring Sosa/Baldwin back. Smith has lowered his ERA now to 2.37 and that HAS to be it for this game.
  23. Do the White Sox take a shot at Forest Whitley, who was recently DFA'ed by the Astros...former top pitching prospect 2-3 years ago? Smith still at 97 mph, lots of ground ball singles in this one...and traffic on the bases, but has mostly pitched around it. BULLPEN: TRANSFORM!!!
