Munemania: Murakami and Judge pacing each other
Pretty similar to later career Gallo with a lot more power and plate discipline….has prime of his youth “power” on his side now Joey at one point with enough speed to win a GG, but só did Benintendi in 2021 or 22

Edwin Diaz and Blake Treinen certainly had meltdowns today. Diaz velocity appreciably down from 97 to 95.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/closers/_/year/2025 There you go. Everyone well above 80% until Will Vest. Who's not elite either.

There you go. Bottom at 85% tolerable/keep your spot Should be definition of elite. Would argue 95% and up.

AI doesn't know how to different elite closers from non closing relievers. Not to mention three inning save conversions in blowouts count too for those stats. A Hector Santiago special.

4/19 Sox vs [insert location] A's
That's the average of every single guy in save situations including 7th and 8th inning pitchers. Elite used to mean 92.5-100% Very good 85-92.5% Tolerable 77.5-85% But closers should always be higher than mere High leverage guys.

Taylor not great today. Getting something for Dominguez is one thing, Newcomb and especially Hicks quite another. And Murakami might have already hit his peak value...we shall see the demand level two months from now as mlbtraderumors heats up again.

95% of pitchers not meant to be closers.

At least we get to enjoy 2-3 years before inevitable trade talk. You think they'd want to bank on a local kid making good...

Pythagorean would argue otherwise. We do this to ourselves every season...easily could be. But NOT.

Which is fine usually in the 6th through 8th. A's postgame wondering how Wilson possibly missed that last pitch.

You can't make someone a closer if they don't have that instinctive killer mentality and intestinal fortitude. Taylor might have the same issue facing him. 8-14 Schultz first big league win No longer the worst team in baseball for now

Streaky. As soon as you pick him up for fantasy he goes in the tank again. This next week will be the second try to ride a heat wave.

Well, the one commonality regardless of stadium is that they stop scoring runs late in every stadium and somehow figure out a new and inventive way to make it interesting in the end.

Vargas you are not Pablo Ozuna.
