  1. Not to mention if Cease has another 3-4 months similar to 2024 he's going to fetch even more for a 2 month rental.
  2. And therein lies the impossible challenge of marketing this team...
  3. Debate/discuss... I left out Schultz, Hagen Smith and Grant Taylor...until it becomes more apparent they will be allowed to move up to Chicago this season.
  4. Another 110+ loss season will do it. All that's left is trading Robert and a #10 draft pick in June won't move the meter.
  5. He's continuing to drive down value of his shares though..if the next wave of prospects struggles or "Getz" injured, he will have no recourse remaining.
  6. Let's hope so for the sake of the Opening Day attendees that just want a competitive, well-played game.
  7. Mike North...Jay Mariotti...Joe Cowley more an a-hole.
  8. Anything is better than Amaya...Bergolla impressed everyone with his baseball IQ that is largely credited to his father's tutelage.
  9. Right, which is why you can never go by fWAR alone...
  10. You won't see Anderson Eloy Moncada etc. back while Getz is in charge. We reserve that right for Clevinger alone.
  11. Not much to be excited about or entertained by other than milk shakes and opponents.
  12. Sure but he's not a veteran working on things...guess we will find out next week. One thing everyone knows is that his command has always come with question marks.
  13. Burke back in. k fly out singles to Candelario and Hays. Gets out of it liner to Amaya.
  14. Amaya with a single oppo field again. 3-1, DeLoach DP ball.
  15. Thaiss 387 987 double...continues hot hitting. Dalbec soft oppo liner first and third. Gray nice walk bases loaded for Julks.
  16. Franklin a Missouri Tiger...reliever profile. 93-95 fb. Lost an 0-2 count. Walked in another 3-0. Was afraid to give Rios a FB? Weird to go change. Burke now sitting at a 7 era.
  17. Zach Franklin in. Burke will have to re-enter later. 6 era and climbing for Sean...might be feeling pressure of OD start.
  18. Walked in another run.
  19. Burke at 93-97 mph. Four pitch walk first and second one out. WP. Another walk bases loaded. WP run scores. Infield single Burke didn't cover bag in time. Pitch count creeping towards 30.
  20. Walter McInven
  21. “It's exciting,” Sheets said. “That was obviously the goal I had when I got here, and to get notified by the front office and everything, it feels good. It's the hard work that was put in. Just excited about the opportunity to be here, to have the contract selected.” Sheets is coming off a rough two-year stretch with the Chicago White Sox, in which he struck out 172 times and recorded batting averages of .203 and .230 in 2023 and '24, respectively. He has tweaked his mechanics a bit since arriving at Padres camp, and it seems like it’s been working, as his six home runs this spring entered Thursday tied for the Cactus League lead. His 1.123 OPS is also fifth-best in the Majors. AJ Casavell. mlb.com
  22. Timing....market crushed those still standing at the end when the music stopped.

  24. "If we all agree the White Sox aren’t going to roar to playoff life after 121 losses, then, for this prediction to come true, the Twins would have to win the Central and be the only Central team to advance. FanGraphs’ projections give the Twins the highest-percentage odds of winning the division, so ... maybe? Also, mere regression to the mean would mean fewer losses for the White Sox and, ergo, fewer wins for their division foes and, ergo, less chance of the Central producing multiple playoff teams. (Did I just talk myself into this prediction? I think I did!)" mlb.com Anthony Castrovince Also, Garrett Crochet projected to have a K rate over 40%. Shane Bieber last did this in abbreviated 2000 Covid season.
  25. Jamie...? That's a pretty tough allegation...but you just wonder WHERE it's coming from if it's NOT Getz? Obviously DeLoach was already passed through waivers, you just wonder what they're thinking with him...haven't heard much about converting him to 1B from the outfield, pitching again, etc.
