  2. All fans' money is green and spends for JR equally the same...unless of course it's electronic/digital. Should have invited "The Panther"/Sosa and doubled attendance as well as interest. Or someone like Carlton Fisk or Jack McDowell or AJ. Heck everyone from Dick Allen's family would have been a better touch.
  3. Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope, who were each ranked in the top nine MLB prospects at Baseball Prospectus last week, checked in at 47th and 51st on the Baseball America top 100. De Paula last year in January was listed among the 15 prospects who just missed the Baseball America top 100, but by midseason moved into the top 50. Left-hander Jackson Ferris, who along with Hope was acquired from the Cubs in the January 2024 Michael Busch trade, is ranked by BA as the No. 82 prospect, after posting a 3.20 ERA in 27 starts between Great Lakes and Tulsa and led all Dodgers minor leaguers with 145 strikeouts. Ferris, who just turned 21 last Wednesday, won the Branch Rickey Award last season as the Dodgers’ minor league pitcher of the year. https://www.truebluela.com/2025/1/22/24349268/roki-sasaki-dodgers-baseball-america-top-100-prospects
  4. Also shows the aging curve really hits up the middle players quite early now…closer to 31-33. Unless you’re Jose Altuve.
  5. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2024&month=0&season1=2024&ind=0&pos=ss Witt just toyed with MLB last year…can’t believe he’s 4th. 3.0 fWAR is right around average, Willi Castro/Josh Smith/Jeremy Pena territory.
  6. Definitely AAA unless he absolutely destroys Spring Training…
  7. SHORTSTOPS 1. Gunnar Henderson, BAL (Last year: No. 6 3B) 2. Corey Seager, TEX (1) 3. Francisco Lindor, NYM (2) 4. Bobby Witt Jr., KC (9) 5. Mookie Betts, LAD (No. 1 2B) 6. Dansby Swanson, CHC (4) 7. Carlos Correa, MIN (7) 8. Elly De La Cruz, CIN (NR) 9. Willy Adames, SF (8) 10. Trea Turner, PHI (5) Witt's like a 10 fWAR guy and not even Top 3...second in AL MVP voting, etc. White Sox have to at least aim for league average, which is still going to be at least a 3-4 fWAR guy. source: mlb.com
  8. The Yankees and Padres appear to be discussing a trade of Marcus Stoman for Arraez. But the Padres are asking for cash thrown in, which makes the trade unlikely. The Padres are also listening on trade proposals for closer Robert Suarez. Nothing yet about Cease/King.

Baseball America %40 baseballamerica.com Red Sox Big 3 at #2/4/15. Big dropoff to Teel and B.Montgomery.
  10. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/lenyn-sosa/22896/stats?position=2B Three years of pretty consistently awful defense. You have to hit at least 750+ to overcome that. Low walk rate, paired with tons of Ks. Can definitely not be considered a legit candidate for everyday SS.
  11. Must have been in one his occasionally optimistic periods...about 20-25% of the time. Also, Cubs signed utility man Jon Berti to pair with speedster PCA, thought ought to shut everyone up lol.
  12. https://global.espn.com/nfl/draft2025/insider/story/_/id/43472017/2025-nfl-mock-draft-mel-kiper-first-round-predictions-32-picks Bears have both OL to choose from here...dearth of QBs after the first two picks come off the board.
  13. That's what set Jose Contreras on a down ward trend....it was either covering 1B or trying to field a bunt, but it definitely happened in late May 2006 against Cindy. Never the same again from that moment onwards.
  14. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/01/michael-kopech-reportedly-dealing-with-forearm-inflammation.html GM Brandon Comes denied that Kopech had serious injury concerns coming into 2025.
  15. Former Padre, just like Enyel de los Santos....and two now former Guardians. Statistically...would be best Sox reliever. Will likely work out a trade first. MLBtraderumors questioned why no offensive upgrade and that Sewald's FB below was down significantly last season. Also, old friend Reese McGuire signed with the Cubs.
  16. I would take Henderson on breakaway speed...but tOSU seemed to favor Judkins more in "must have/do or die" situations. Johnson just has that elite combination of size speed and YAC. He still succeeded despite being 75% of defensive focus.
  17. If they sold high, it's a three player deal with one of the Red Sox Top 3 guys...the injury concerns have to be considered with Montgomery to some extent. That said...he doesn't seem to be the type of player who has to rely on outfielder speed like a Jared Mitchell. (and yes completely different injuries) It was a fair trade but not a steal either unless you are getting a potential future star...but much better than Cease (unless Zavala and Thorpe somehow both stick).
  18. AP reports Dodgers received $1,456,600 from Philadelphia in the Campbell trade. https://apnews.com/article/roki-sasaki-dodgers-contract-31412fce9c7f50593e037022a7776a0d "The Dodgers started with a pool of $5,146,200 but increased it to $8,102,800 with a pair of trades last week, acquiring $1.5 million from Cincinnati and $1,456,600 from Philadelphia."

  20. Kaleb Johnson is going to be a solid NFL running back...haven't seen him slotted in many mock first rounds, just Jeanty at this point. And he's all over the place, from near 10-12 to the very bottom of the round.
  21. Adding to the #1 bullpen in baseball in 2024. Quite a concept!
  22. https://dodgersnation.com/making-sense-of-the-michael-busch-trade-why-didnt-the-dodgers-get-more/2024/01/14/ Suddenly looking much better for the Dodgers one year later...Busch was not exactly going to supplant Freeman.
  23. Probably coming in the next 4-6 weeks…
  24. Kid has to meet all his incentives. A* in every class or diminished skills contract clause kicks in. Or we can just call it the Machado unreachable final year trickery.
  25. https://www.truebluela.com/2025/1/22/24349268/roki-sasaki-dodgers-baseball-america-top-100-prospects Sasaki instantly ascends to Baseball America's #1 prospect status. Jinx???
