Trade thoughts
Don't know how that happened. Either a new phone or jumping from China to Korea (saw Drew Anderson start in KBO for SSG Rangers) to Dallas to Puerto Rico to Dallas to Korea and leaving for China this AM with VPN or Chinese government patrolling my phone...

Trade thoughts

Bleak bleak bleak. Need to get rid of ALL those players and simply move on. Already started with TA and Maldy. We're almost to the point where Elko would be a more compelling watch. Not even one single player that should be guaranteed a spot next year. Who would it possibly be? Lee as the backup catcher? Julks? Nah. Sosa? Yuck.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Demand for Kopech seemingly 10X higher. Heck Vaughn might be behind Banks and Brebbia as well...even Wilson for truly desperate teams. Speaking of weak areas, the offensive falloffs for Korey Lee and Montgomery are grtting really worrisome. It means Quero almost has to produce. We have all this supposed MI depth in Baldwin, Sosa, Ramos, Ja. Gonzalez and Colson... yet all five could just as easily flop as EVEN two of them being on the 2026-27 Sox rosters.

Cease To Padres per Passan
A .674 opsing Andrew Vaughn at first base likely to be the best hitter remaining on next year's Sox team. Down from 0.5 to -0.4 in fWAR At first base, ranked #30/37. Michael Busch is a Top 5 guy already and Jake Burger is well ahead of Vaughn as well.

7/23 Games
A hot couple of months never warranted that big of a jump for Gonzalez (or Ramos, for that matter). See the same fall back down to earth with Baldwin.

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
Still think it's suicide for the Tigers to trade Skubal if they want to remain competitive next season.

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
Chicago White Sox: All out. They are listening on everyone, and they're the odds-on favorite to make the most deals in the next week. Rarely does a deadline line up so well for one team. The White Sox have the best pitcher and hitter actively on the market (Crochet and Robert). They've got arguably the best under-control pitcher expected to move (Erick Fedde) and another bat who's a deadline darling (Tommy Pham). They've got relievers (Michael Kopech, John Brebbia, Tanner Banks) and infielders (first baseman Andrew Vaughn and shortstop Paul DeJong). They're happy to do package deals or one-offs. When you're on pace to go 43-119, anything is on the table. There is a chance Chicago holds on to one (or all) of its most valuable trade chips and moves them come the offseason -- especially if teams leery of Crochet's innings try to pay reliever prices for him -- but the prospect of an organization getting desperate and meeting the required return is never more palpable than in a wide-open playoff panorama. https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/40617439/2024-mlb-trade-deadline-preview-passan-stars-teams-deal-garrett-crochet-luis-robert-yankees-dodgers-phillies

Skubal/Orioles talk...
The same who would bid on Julio Rodriguez or Acuna... or Glasnow.

7/22 Sox @ Rangers - already started
Francona owes JR absolutely nothing. He screwed him over and made his path to the majors even longer. https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-white-sox/terry-francona-is-exactly-who-the-white-sox-need/

So much for trading Brebbia or Wilson.

7/22 Sox @ Rangers - already started
Might as well pick up Arozarena and Brendan Rodgers and attempt to avoid 110-115 losses next year. It’s all meaningless anyway.

Lee saved the game temporarily.
