  1. They're going to manage to keep Hahn from spending another $40-50 million with all these relief arms added...should have also gotten that Sampson kid the Cubs quietly dealt.
  2. Todd Frazier might unretire...
  3. Gavin Sheets working out at third this afternoon in Arlington....apparently played the position on a travel ball squad in Grade 9.
  4. Morosi had him after Robert on the list of players the White Sox should keep...assuming he knew Benintendi was stuck with the Sox and vice versa.
  5. "Patino showed flashes of brilliance during the 2021 season, but his 2022 campaign was derailed by oblique and shoulder injuries so it's unclear how much he would be capable of contributing." https://www.tampabay.com/sports/rays/2023/03/07/rays-luis-patino-tyler-glasnow-shawn-armstrong-curtis-mead-phillies/ Rays’ Luis Patino wants to show everyone who he really is Notes | The right-hander is healthy, throwing hard and determined to bounce back in what he admits is “a big year.” Breaking News: Miguel Cleto named new pitching coach?
  6. His last name is Sisco or Poreda?
  7. Go Padres' farm system! Rick Hahn will redeem your rep in the end. Also, surprised no Francisco Mejia to corner the catching market after not developing one in decades. (No, Zach Collins doesn't count!)
  8. The White Sox have sort of developed Sale (not really), Rodon and Chris Bassitt in a decade. That's it. And they will probably be implementing a new pitching lab (finally) with Katz (likely) leaving...so not much trust there in Hahn and Getz. Go back earlier you can add McCarthy and Hudson....so five successes in almost two decades.
  9. Can add Marlins to Padres Reds Royals Dodgers/Puig now lol. Only another decade or two (Hahn must be 52ish) and I will have been forced to follow 28 other teams (not the Scrubs like Ron) out of sheer boredom since the White Sox and AL Central are basically irrelevant.
  10. Yeah. Assuming Moncada gets hurt yet again this year or misses most of next year while we're on the hook for $29 million...it won't be all that much fun to watch Romy Sosa Remillard or Popeye Rodriguez play 3B.
  11. Then we have a SS problem. If you're going to build a team correctly, you need to shore up catcher and middle infield first. If they were actually considering Sal Perez...it means they're trying to compete and rebuild at the same time. Seems to me we have already watched that show on a loop from 2007-2019.
  12. I don't recall Gavin ever being Top Ten in homers for all of MLB at any point in his career.
  13. They're pretty much eliminating anyone for fans to cheer for in 2024 other than Robert... How many season tickets are buying or not buying over the likes of Cease and Bummer? Maybe Anderson for some...but they're practically begging for Burger to continue proving them wrong.
  14. They're not going to be competing next year without any power or positional player health...so just get it over with and trade Cease to the Orioles and call it a retool on the fly if you want.
  15. Who is going to play third base in the future?
  16. Morel has more detractors than Burger over there...I can't remember what happened with Wisdom.
  17. That's why he is probably the most unpopular player with a 900+ ops I can remember. That and walks/OBP aren't sexy to most non-analytics oriented fans.
  18. Viciedo another rookie who couldn't follow it up. If you go back to guys like Crede and Rowand...it took them both 2-3 years to break into the lineup on an everyday basis. Back then, the team was strong enough to make young players earn their time. (Borchard and Brian Anderson, for example...would have had hundreds if not 1000+ at bats with the 2017-19 teams.) A lot of it's simply timing...and, in this case, Moncada's health.
  19. 0-10 6-18 Record in extras and one run games Over +60 in run differential but last night the perfect example....started extras with bases loaded and no outs, somehow didn't score, had a key Machado error to allow Rockies to load the bases in the bottom and then a sac fly
  20. Manaea was short on his stuff last year...not much upside there except to take innings and protect High A/AA starters like a Vince Velasquez sort of did last year.
  21. Bettendorf and LeClaire/Pleasant Valley are like Naperville and Bolingbrook.
