  1. I knew there was a Quad Cities insult coming…maybe narrow it down to Davenport Rock Island or Moline. If you try to do an Illinois insult city, it’s either Rockford or Peoria.
  2. Crazy they’re still bringing up John Danks $65 million extension as a reason to never extend/sign another pitcher again…even one around their team already like Giolito or Cease for the past 5-6 years. Pooh poohed the idea of KW running around behind the scenes secretly pulling all the strings from behind the curtains.
  3. Fegan at lunchtime wearing his late mom’s Snoopy bathrobe=25% boost in Twitch ratings/comments
  4. Let’s say they lose tonight in Colorado to go back to three games under .500. It’s going to be fascinating to see if Preller is ready to trade Snell (as good pitching the last 6 weeks as Bellinger hitting), Soto, Hader and even Seth Lugo in less than 24 hours. Nobody realistically believes they’re going to sign Juan Soto to a massive extension…but there’s something of an Ohtani thing going on where trading him after dealing so many minor league Top 100 guys (and Gore) just over a year ago isn’t going to be well received at all unless he can “win the trade” in the eyes of the fanbase and get their MiLB system back to Top 5ish. And they’re just 1 1/2 behind the Cubs…AZ and Miami falling back, etc. Also, Darvish isn’t having the type of year where selling him makes any sense.
  5. More fun when they can knock the Cubs back from their dream world of being in first place by Thursday…
  6. They're highly unlikely to trade 1 1/2 years of Soto for 2 1/2 of Cease. That would be one sure way to create a fan rebellion after what they gave up to acquire him last year. The White Sox would least need Soto from August and October, 2024. And they're not the kind of fans who show up JUST to see Juan Soto on their team....Bryce Harper, sure, even with Soto being the more consistent producer.
  7. The morning show guys at 670 were saying Ohtani on the White Sox would be one of the few ways to get them back proudly wearing all their Sox gear again. Not even Cubs' homers are optimistic about getting him...even with Suzuki already on the roster.
  8. Now that the Heyman quotes about everyone on the roster (even Robert) being up for discussion are out there...
  9. Not even sure that would be enough when he desperately wants to play playoff baseball. Closest to a guarantee is the Dodgers or Astros.
  10. Burdi another one that was fast tracked to fill an immediate need at the big league level… Just because Sale, a once HoF track pitcher weathered the storm doesn’t mean its a reliable formula. Or Buehrle starting out as a reliever too once he arrived in Chicago.
  11. Davis Martin and prospect Sean Burke are sidelined by injuries at Triple-A Charlotte. At 20, Cristian Mena is precocious enough to be at Double-A Birmingham, but he and 2019 second-rounder Matthew Thompson have ERAs over 5.00 with the Barons. Katz said he has been too involved with the churn in Chicago to review video of newly acquired prospects Nick Nastrini and Ky Bush. But given Bush’s rough debut Saturday with Birmingham (31/3 innings, 12 hits, seven earned runs, no strikeouts), they might need more seasoning before getting on Katz’s radar. 12. De la Cruz and Reds demolishing Dodgers....back to first place after that 2-7 run against the Brewers.
  13. Heard it was the biggest home attendance day in MLB history or maybe just Saturdays yesterday...
  14. Easier said than done by a young kid making his major league debut...we can't even get vets to do something seemingly simple.
  15. If he walked Gimenez into scoring position and then Mr. 460 Batting Average at GRF Naylor followed up with a two run scoring double....? I'm not sure a three run lead lets a manager take that kind of risk. Not an obvious one with a runner already on first though and Naylor up next.
  16. Ramirez and Naylor just absolutely terrorize the Sox. 22nd two homer game.
  17. Well not the last month or so...and last night proved he still has some pop in his bat.
  18. Anderson at 29.8 feet/sec sprint speed there.
  19. You know there's an issue when even the opposing team's broadcasters are sympathizing with your pitcher. "This is hard to watch."
  20. Escaped...after three mound visits. Trainer out. Whispers about the yips. Leading AL in walks.
