The problem is that Pham is likely to cool down at some point...his bat, veteran leadership (to some) and playoff experience are his selling points. Should be a DH though...ideally. Just not enough pop to long-term hold down that spot with a contender, obviously. Can platoon though.

Wasn't Carson Fulmer a similar situation...overusage concerns? Teammate Walker Buehler turned out to be the much better pitcher until breaking down finally. Remains to be seen whether he can ever recapture that previous form.

It's one thing to look at Clevinger numbers from last year. Starting out so late...the odds were never in his favor, not with that 5-6 year injury history. His legacy will be the trade that essentially rebuilt the Guardians...along with all that off the field stuff.
