You want to say another series victory but Kopech looked pretty horrible and still 24 outs to go. Reds bailed him out. And Yankees already blew a six run lead today against Tampa.

Can't trade The Franchise.
-
Uh oh. Now Robert hurt.
-
Myers is just terrible out there now.
-
Benintendi getting the back in his hometown bounce...
-
Cubs and Sox spending almost same amount on payroll this year...#12/13 in majors.

Eloy Jimenez has appendix removed, out 4-6 weeks per Grifol

Sheets now just 5/32 after Sox PR machine hyped him as solution to Colas in RF, lol. -
At least they have been having fun playing the last 2-3 weeks. Playing a lot like Pittsburgh until they hit an inevitable slump. Alberto on his way to a three year contract extension...must be the worst #5 hitter around the majors today, but two homers in the series.

Most embarrassing play since...well, most of last season. But just emblematic of entire organization collapsing across the board... like that Gordon Beckham drop tumbling over the mound with Harrelson practically losing it on air. Kopech... a pitcher... the ONLY player to do the right thing there on the entire infield. Running the base runner away from the next base and towards the bag, in this case, second. Almost no pride remaining. Somehow Kopech didn't completely implode into a crooked number... but just wow.

Nightengale: Gio won't be on 2024 White Sox
caulfield12 replied to Lip Man 1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Contreras Jenks Hermanson El Duque AJ Dye Pods Iguchi (lucked into by KW scouting only via video, no budget to actually go to JPN) Politte Marte Cotts Everett Takatsu Ozuna all pretty much off the scrap heap. F. Garcia their one premium trade target. Where all the money previously going to Maggs Lee Valentin went. -

Hahn and JR seem more like Monty Burns and Smithers more and more by the day. -
Haven't seen Lemonis associated with Sox sale in ages.

And Giolito/Hendriks not much longer with this team... Lynn absorbed in conflict with Stone over his weight like the issues he and Caray embroiled with on Northside. Benetti clearly on his way out, too. Look at the body language of Pollock and this year Benintendi compared to last. Robert hustling controversy. Clevinger is just trash. Injuries injuries injuries... seems 1/3td of the team doesn't have any joy playing the sport at all... which is typical of losing teams. No chemistry at all like 2020 and first half 2021. Burger really seemed like the only uplifting story surrounding the team...Hamilton again for a brief blip.
-
Machado Soto Bogaerts failed to drive in from 2nd/3rd with zero then one out to tie... still not getting enough clutch hitting for such an expensive payroll. Might see Ian Hamilton again today... 7-7 tie in Tampa after the Yankees lead 6-0.

Nightengale: Gio won't be on 2024 White Sox
caulfield12 replied to Lip Man 1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Zero point to hold onto Lopez, Grandal, Bummer, Graveman, etc. Probably hold onto most unlikeable in Clevinger, but a parting of ways there would be far from shocking on either Sox or player side. From a leadership viewpoint, Hendriks definitely has value, but not worth what they're paying on a non-competitive team when they can just roll with the likes of Santos Middleton and Lambert, at least until his arm falls off. -

That family already had money/independence and they were never going to be bullied into a team-friendly deal.. -

We're there with a seat at the table for Wheeler and Tanaka lol... always finishing with second and third tier guys with Clevinger so typical. We do trade for second tier guys who supposedly are having onto first tier status and actually end up closer to third... Shark Shields Lynn Clevinger, etc. Then there's the Rodon and Cueto one year wonders. -

That max was this past offseason... now it's merely a salary dump. -

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2932139-which-mlb-team-has-uncovered-the-most-elite-international-talent From two years ago now...but things haven't changed dramatically for the Sox since then...sliding backwards to mediocrity even in this previous area of excellence under Paddy with almost no significant Dominican star power. Were ranked 9th at that point... mostly on the backs of Tatis and Abreu, as well as Robert Jr. 1. Boston 2. Cubs 3. Guardians 4. Atlanta 5. Seattle 6. Twins 7. Mets 8. Houston 9. White Sox 10. 2023: MLB news not AL Central-related

Cards moving Willson Contreras off catcher to DH and corner OF. Not getting nearly enough offense from the outfield... especially Burleson. -

Jimenez and Moncada have pretty much been written off. That only leaves Vaughn Robert Cease and maybe Kopech. TA7 Hendriks and Giolito are living on borrowed time. No different than 2016... except the value of talent is roughly 1/3rd or most optimistically 1/2 what it was with Sale/Q/Eaton/Abreu/(Tatis). -
