  1. Not giving up on ILoy hitting second. Stubborn. And Benintendi in a run driving in position.
  2. At least the Marlins beat the Cubs. 5-16 now. Even if Sox win and Miami loses...Sox would be percentage points "ahead" for worst record in the majors still.
  3. It's difficult to imagine if you took ANY random Fangraphs reader and told them that their offseason assignment was to deliberately destroy the Sox fanbase...how they could do much better (or "worse") than the combination of Getz and Grifol have so far. The primary condition would be STILL maintaining a Top 15 payroll, while simultaneously attempting to be one of the very worst teams in history. Btw, with the Pham signing...the White Sox have now passed the Twins for the highest payroll in the AL Central, at almost $135 million, according to Cot's Baseball Contracts.
  4. The one comment that made me laugh was about the “toolsy” first rounder from last June…which I guess was supposed to be taken as tongue in cheek. And the free agency class’ reasons for 2024-25 optimism could have been written by none other than an intern at Boras Corp. It will be quite interesting to see how the Sox can creatively avoid spending $100+ million on a single contract (yet) again.
  5. See 2020 White Sox vs. AL Central
  6. I sense an ice cream theme. At least Nationwide is still on our side, so there’s that…I guess.
  7. “We have to execute the game plan,” White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said. “Every night, you are going to face someone like [Turnbull], especially when you are facing teams that are postseason clubs. It’s not going to get any easier tomorrow. It’s not going to get any easier on Sunday. We have to find ways to put good ABs together, execute and step on home plate.” “The guys were saying the ball was moving all over the place. He has pretty good stuff, but at the same time, we have to find ways to make something happen,” Grifol said. “I’m not taking any credit away from him. He did a good job of pitching. But every day in this league, there is somebody out there that is pretty good.” ….. “Crochet threw too many pitches,” Grifol said. “The first homer to Bohm, it was supposed to be inside. It kind of lifted out over the plate. The second homer was a slider down. It was below the zone. Another good piece of hitting. “We talk about walks all the time, and every time there is a crooked number, there is probably a walk involved somewhere. And both of those were two-out heartbreakers right there.” Bill Ladson has been a reporter for MLB.com since 2002. He covered the Nationals/Expos from 2002-2016. Follow him onFacebook.
  8. Might as well be Bobby Molinaro...
  9. Guardians about to be 14-6 with a much lower payroll...and no Bieber. What else is new?
  10. Wheeler must be thanking his lucky stars and East Coast wife for never signing with the Sox.
  11. Sheets DeJong Crochet Leasure Fedde has been about as expected. Wilson.
  12. Welp. That's all the offensive excitement for tonight. At least we get their B/C pen guys in mopup duty.
  13. Well, that's enough for tonight... Have to first see if Vaughn Ks. Nope. A run coming here?
  14. Eloy at his customary 75% effort.
  15. Team must know a no hitter makes Grifol early departure much more likely.
  16. AL All-Star outfielder Gavin Sheets.
  17. Yosimar Cousin was gifted the same amount of money as Turnbull for this season...
  18. Need a Hahn or KW interview to stir things up. Probably signed NDAs.
  19. Up goes the red no hitter in progress chyron...
  20. Sox lineup now with six hitters at .179 and below.
  21. Shewmake needs to retire to the side of Stone Mountain...
  22. Free Campfire Milkshakes if the White Sox get no hit promotion needs to start soon at GRF...
