Tauchman on the Sox with better numbers than Benintendi and the ability to play CF competently probably would have been the better move, Hahn. Certainly better for payroll flexibility.

Something like 1-5 or 1-6 against Sox in his career over 11 starts.

Baseball Savant would give you pause about the impacts of swing changes and sustainability. That said, his numbers hold up well and he's a Gold Glove caliber CF and 1B. Even as a 25-30 homer guy and not 40 something homers like 2019 he has a ton of value. Which means he won't be considering the Sox without an overpay.

Some marketing agency put the cost of trading him at $15-20 million in lost revenue...approaching $25 if he closes in on the home run record and Cy Young simultaneously.

How do the Sox move forward now that tanking isn't an option?
21 blown saves , tops in the majors lowest save conversion rate overall lousy record in one run games and extra innings Obvious problem is that we might never see the 2021-2022 version of Liam ever again...

Fire Rick Hahn
Especially starting out in THIS division with Sale Q Eaton Rodon (result of 2013 disaster season) and the group sent to the Yankees to kick things off as the rebuild started officially. Let's also not forget already having a stud in Abreu and future near star in Tim Anderson! Ofc, we dubious ended up the competing/retooling middle third of the 2010s by accidentally trading away Tatis after previously giving up on Semien and Bassitt before they even had an opportunity to establish themselves. Great job, Hahn! At least you failed to double down with an extension for Shark...?

He’s also the only really strong bunter in the organization…well, I guess Billy Hamilton would be the other if he’s still hanging around.

So Harold has Hahn fired at some point this year and JR not being willing to rebuild again? Or just the first part ?

The Rockies might be more embarassing than Sox
This is the best ya got?

Fire Rick Hahn
Lucks out again with local media focusing on Bellinger and Stroman...probably more interest in Ohtani in Chicago than the current Sox season.

Wainwright is definitely retiring.

Morrissey column...
Not sure if he will live up to Jenks, Foulke and Sergio Santos...or even Takatsu, but since we have the worst save conversion rate and most blown saves as a team, there's basically nowhere to go but up.

Morrissey column...
While it's hard to blame him for Hendriks...but, if you followed the Sox from the Roberto Hernandez years on, you would realize this team usually succeeded with finding closers and high end relievers in a bargain bin fashion. Not by overpaying for past results. Just look at Koch Linebrink Dotel and Robertson...and our current bullpen's exorbitant salaries. Or just look within our division at Duran and Clase. The last Dominican reliever we produced was Jesus Pena a decade ago. Without a strong international safety net, you always end up overpaying in free agency. That's where we are now with the lack of top prospects in AA/AAA.
