  1. Oh I hate to do this to you.. but... bias SYLLABICATION: bi·as TRANSITIVE VERB: Inflected forms: bi·ased or bi·assed, bi·as·ing or bi·as·sing, bi·as·es or bi·as·ses Sorry..... Uhhh...yeah.
  2. I really hate to pick on grammar and spelling...I really do, but I have to say this because it's driving me nuts. Nobody is "bias". People are "biased", not "bias". Thank you. Carry on.
  3. She's as much a whore as Kobe Bryant is. Nobody deserves to be raped, but people still need to show some judgment. If I walk through a dangerous neighborhood at night, I don't deserve to be mugged but I am guilty of poor judgment. I can't believe that we are hearing all of the evidence. It is so obvious from what we are hearing that the case is weak, I can't believe an experienced prosecutor would go to trial with such a weak case. There must be something we don't know.
  4. It would be so much easier if he turned out to be some guy that beats women or doesn't pay child support or something, but he isn't. C'mon, the guy coaches the youth baseball team that he himself played for, for Pete's sake! He really sounds like the last guy in the world that you'd want this to happen to. I'll admit it, I'm hoping the Cubs win tonight to help this poor guy out. The broadcast crew tonight for FOX made a good statement stating how ridiculous and unfortunate it is that this guy has to go through this. Cub fans should be embarrassed for the hell this guy's going through.
  5. Two different Peoria radio stations have named this guy on the air. I am beginning to despise the media more than I did already.
  6. Why on earth would he do that??? Even if he feels that way, did he honestly think the Twins would try harder for him?? Their desire to win the division wasn't enough, his request for help getting the job would make them win? What a goof.
  7. No offense to anyone, but I'm getting tired of seeing this guy villified. I laughed when it happened, but I can't find the humor in watching a guy's life be ruined. I can't believe I'm saying this, but a small part of me hopes the Cubs win tonight to let this poor sap off the hook.
  8. No one is happier about all this than Alex Gonzalez. It's amazing how he is being ignored in last night's debacle.
  9. Dusty Baker had a real chance to show some class and dropped the ball. Some idiot reporter serves him up a meatball question, asking if he has any words for the fan, and Dusty says he must've been a Marlins fan. Hey Dusty, how about you just say no and it's your professional team's responsibility to overcome obstacles and get out of the inning. I shouldn't be surprised though. Just like Dusty and the Cubs to react that way. They're done.
  10. Wow! It sure didn't take long for that picture to make it into circulation. My Lord, that guy had better get some plastic surgery STAT!
  11. Well people, we've just witnessed history. This will go down with Bill Buckner and Leon Durham. We will tell our children and grandchildren about this game. October 14, 2003...mark it down. Let's hope the Cubs lose tomorrow to make it more meaningful.
  12. I actually feel awful for those fans down the left field line. At first I thought it was great that their stupid fans could blow it for them, but now I just feel terrible for them. Go to the game wanting to have a good time and one play and one grab for the ball and all Cubbiedom hates you. Add onto that the guilt you'd feel. Then FOX keeps showing your mug on TV. I never thought I'd feel bad for some Cub fans, but I feel bad for those two jamokes. Cub fans need to realize that Prior still wlaked the guy, Gonzalez dropped an easy bouncer, and they still gave up 8 runs after the leadoff man was retired. Florida needs to be considered the favorite tomorrow now.
  13. You mean they're not from Columbus, Colombia? Glad I scalped my tix!
  14. Fingerprinted? Sounds pretty awful. And a citizen of one of our allies, huh? Kinda like Saudi Arabia is an ally? Wasn't Richard Reid, the shoe bomber, a British citizen? Then how in the hell did he try to blow up that plane if he's a British citizen??? A portion of the world has a population that despises the U.S. and has many that would bring harm to the nation. To think that people from that part of the world wouldn't get extra scrutiny is naive, in my opinion.
  15. How about Mike Ockertz? Harry Dixon?
  16. I've got to say that his ravings were really ridiculous. I understand kids say and do stupid things, but my God, he was acting purely nuts. The amount of energy expended in hating so much is really a waste.
  17. Thank you. Don't forget about the 20% interest rates. News Flash! Supply side economics works! And it is working so well right now To amend your statement, supply side economics works IF capacity utilization is near 100% and employment is near full. Otherwise it is just giving money to the rich. Give it time. Give it time. We're getting there. The economy is growing again and employment is rising.
  18. I didn't see all of the game, but man, the Blackhawks looked slow! It seemed to me that all the play was in the Hawks' end of the ice. They showed a panning shot of the Hawks bench and I recognized perhaps half of them. Considering how bad they've been, that's a good thing.

    Age poll

Good Lord, I'm feeling old. Just turned 31.
  20. Yeah? What's your favorite memory of the Reagan presidency? The double digit inflation rate he took over from Carter? The abysmal American morale he got from Carter? His ending the Cold War? The 33% growth in the American economy under his leadership? Or perhaps your being potty trained?

    Sick of This

I read that as sarcasm. Perhaps I'm wrong though. After the garbage I've read on this board lately, nothing would surprise me.
  22. My favorite side character is the Arnold Schwarzenegger take-off, Werner (?) Wolfcastle. The episode where Milhouse gets the role of Isotope Boy and Wolfcastle playing Radioactive Man gets swept away in the river of acid..."My eyes! The goggles do nothing!" It's better in the German accent.

    Finally

    That didn't take long.
  24. That would be me. I voted for Lincoln because of what he brought this nation through in the most trying of times. In fact, the fact that this was something he actually accomplished, as opposed to Jefferson's philosophy, was the deciding factor. Even though they were diametrically opposed, as you say, they were still both great men and even greater presidents. So smile at what you so obviously perceive as my ignorance if you must. I have my reasons for choosing those two and stick by it. YASNY, I in no way meant to imply I thought your choices were ignorant. Not at all. I'm just a centrist government kind of guy is all. I remember getting into a debate with my professor about the Hamilton vs. Jefferson conflict. I guess in my youth my dislike of Jefferson was a little bit stronger than was necessary!
  25. What a bunch of idiots. I saw nothing in his wild, understandable celebration that remotely looked like that. I guess talking about that is easier than having to explain how your team has lost 9 straight opportunities to win a series and two straight series when up 2-0. Goofs. Baseball players are the most sensitive children I've ever heard of.
