  1. There's really no such thing as a "right to revolt", really. I mean, sure, the people have a right to revolt, but the government, who has given you this "right", reserves the right to blow your ass to hell. Thanks for the right to revolt, buddy! I don't own a gun either, but if it weren't for my wife and kids, I'd consider it for protection. There are plenty of illegal things in this country, i.e. drugs, prostitution, drunk driving, and *gasp* shooting people. Last I've heard, drug use is rampant, drunk driving is a major problem, and there are still prostitutes. If owning guns becomes illegal, I imagine all forms of gun control will disappear; no more gun registry, no need for serial numbers, no background checks, etc. Will the supply of guns dry up? Minimally, IMO. You or I won't be able to get one because we likely wouldn't search out a black market gun dealer. The gangbangers will get them then the same way they get them now...illegally. Yes, the law-abiding jealous husbands who catch their wives f***ing some other guy won't have his gun to reach for to shoot them both, which is a good thing, but the major component of gun related crime comes from those who will continue to have guns.
  2. I like Tallon. Yeah, he does gripe about what he considers bad penalties, but I like that he and Foley can also call a spade a spade and say that they are playing like s***. I never had much use for Gardner. Never seemed like he and Foley were comfortable together and his voice kinda was like nails on a blackboard for me. Speaking of nails on a blackboard, when will Jesse Rodgers be taken off pre and postgame?
  3. I actually thought the picture was pretty funny, FWIW.
  4. 1. The Exorcist 2. The Changeling 3. The Exorcist III (very very underrated)
  5. Perhaps new mods should go through a probationary status before threads get locked. Heather had a thread locked last week for no real reason other than it tricked people. And what's with all the begging for mod status? It's really quite silly.

    wtf is going on

BWAHAHAHAHA No problem. Too many Illini fans here for anyone to get angry at you.
  7. You're going peasant hunting? Good Lord, haven't we advanced as a society to the point where the upper classes can't just go out into the woods and shoot at poor landless people that are just trying to eek out an existence? This sort of thing makes me si...wait a second. Oh, with an "h"? Pheasant? Like the bird? Oh, OK. Nevermind. Have fun.
  8. I'm 6' 3" and about 240. Would like to get down to about 225, my playing weight.

    Occupations

Transportation engineer. I design highways and traffic signals.
  10. When Boers and Bernstein talk sports, I don't think there is anyone better. Unfortunately, they spend so much time talking like 6th grade girls in the back of the classroom that they rarely get to the sports. Or like someone else said, they are trying to make callers feel stupid with their superior intellect. Down here in Peoria, all I can get in my office is FOX sports radio, which really sucks pretty bad. Jim Rome is terrible. It's like he has ADD...he can't talk about a subject for more than a few sentences. I like the Z and Me show on the Score on weekends. It's pretty entertaining. Tommy Williams was horrible. George Offman needs a good ear boxing.
  11. I'm not a doctor, but I saw video of her following a balloon with her eyes and head and they say she squeezes her mother's hand in response to questions. That flies in the face of my definition of "vegetative". I don't begrudge the husband for moving on, but was that the intent of the law making the spouse the legal guardian? As a parent, would you want a man with a girlfriend and children with that woman making the life or death decision for your child? If he hasn't legally divorced the woman, he has at least emotionally divorced her. Remember not too long ago the man that came out of a coma of 20 years? He just out of the blue said "mom" and has been awake since. This is probably what the parents are hoping for. I heard the dad on the radio the other day and he claimed that the husband put his daughter in this state by strangling her. A pretty outrageous charge, but I'll cut a distraught father some slack.
  12. Yeah, it was. I remember trying to get through all the pot smoking hacky-sackers congregating in front of the building. I lived on 3 South, the only male floor on the south side. Our floor shirts read "3 South - Chicks on top, chicks on bottom". Not as good as 3 North though, "3 North - We stay for breakfast".
  13. Really??? He had one song that they played on WXRT in Chicago that was really really good. Don't recall the name of it right now. Not surprised it was a suicide. He seemed like a real fun guy.
  14. I haven't seen the show but I'll have to check it out. It sounds pretty funny. The part of the article describing Nick and his brother's conversation about shooting someone made me laugh.
  15. I lived in Allen Hall back in 91-92. I hardly recognize the campus anymore.
  16. What's the deal with all these farewell addresses? You'd think this board were populated by a bunch of George Washingtons, addressing the troops after the war was over. It's a message board, for chrissakes. If you don't want to post or read anymore, just stop. I see these farewells as just pandering for pleas not to go..."Don't go, so and so, it'll get better!", "Please come back!", "See what you guys did, you chased good ol' so and so away!" Whatever happened to the quiet exit?
  17. Dude, wait until you've been around over a month at least! hes been around for a long time....remember wsc Ahhh, I see. My bad. Didn't recognize him without that nasty smiley av.
  18. Dude, wait until you've been around over a month at least!
  19. I thought he came from Detroit. At any rate, he and the Sun-Times deserve each other. He and his ridiculous columns and them with their yellow journalism, naming Bartman while every other respectable media outlet held off on publishing his name. Like I said, they're a match made in heaven.
  20. A bunch of silliness. People who live several hundreds of miles away from each other are fighting.
  21. I don't understand all the Ruutu hype. In the games I've seen, he's been invisible. I'll tell you who has impressed me though. Pavel Vorobiev. He was the only one out in Columbus who made an impression. He was flying out there and showed some flashes. It's going to be a rough year.
  22. Never said that. Can I shout to the world that you're a liar now? Whatever floats your boat. But before you do...... QUOTE (IlliniBob72 @ Oct 16 2003, 11:07 PM) I really hate to pick on grammar and spelling...I really do, but I have to say this because it's driving me nuts. Nobody is "bias". People are "biased", not "bias". Thank you. Carry on. You said we were wrong.. in usage - that better? Much.
  23. Never said that. Can I shout to the world that you're a liar now?
  24. Oh I hate to do this to you.. but... bias SYLLABICATION: bi·as TRANSITIVE VERB: Inflected forms: bi·ased or bi·assed, bi·as·ing or bi·as·sing, bi·as·es or bi·as·ses Sorry..... Uhhh...yeah. Bias is a word. I understand bias is a word. Never said it wasn't. One who holds a bias against something or someone is biased against it.
