I think they have to trade someone to sign Maddux. I don't think they can afford all those guys plus Maddux. I look for one of them to go. But it won't be to the Sox because our GM is an idiot. Now if we had a good GM like John Schuerholz who put is putting together that staff, then maybe, but we have a dumbass named Kenny Williams who would rather get a Todd Ritchie than a Russ Ortiz. why couldnt they afford all those guys??...their owner makes million off of televising braves games off his own superstation.... the difference is ted turner is willing to spend money and jerry reinsdorf isnt...as long as atlanta's payroll doesnt hit the luxary tax level of 117 million ted turner can and will afford it...

im siding with cubkilla on this one...konerko has become a leader on this team...and he is an all star...he is much better than just above average imo... whatever moves we make we should keep the core of the team , buehrle, maggs , frank , and PK together....build around these guys..not through them

if after all the wheelin and dealin is done...if a spot did open up for david ortiz id take him on...the way he hits against us just making sure no other AL central teams gets him is worth a million dollars..

lee is that bad in the field...i cant count how many times DJ said last year stuff like...carlos got a bad jump on that ball..or calros tok a bad angle there ..as routine outs fell in for extra base hits... and do remember the game in anaheim where carlos failed to run after a foul ball down the left field line that fell into foul territory and not the stands??...would have been the thrid out of the inning...8 runs later before we finally got that 3rd out anaheim was on its way to a 19 run victory or carzy number like that.. plus how many times did guys go 1st to 3rd or 2nd to home on lee on shallow hits where the would have never challenged any other outfielder??. all these things add up over a course of a season..and the bad thing is they are not things that a lot of team really look at..so to keep a guy like your gonna pay for his bat but your not going to get any money back for his glove...so youll always overpay for a guy like him

hey thanks brian hows it going...it has been a long time what do i think about the konerko / ortiz trade???...i think if i was KW id go another direction...i like ortiz butg i think the sox keep the trio of maggs , frank and paulie together..they along with buehrle have become the identy of this team...there has to be some stability from year to year and konerko should be part of that

i dont know enough about ainsworth to decide either way..sorry... i think its a real risky trade..konerko is very popular here and if this one falls through its another PR disaster...i realize konerko is not the second coming of lou gerigh but i think he , thomas and maggs need to stay together...

DJ isn't allowed to talk because Hawk takes over everything. i used to like hawk but i think its time for him to go..its obvious he and DJ dont have the chemestry and DJ ias actually developing into an excellent color commentator..something i thought would never happen... get hawk out of the booth..put in a real play by play guy and let DJ take over the analyzing..he brings alot of insight when he is allowed to talk

speed was a lot more important for a lead off man in the 60's and 70's...before the juiced ball era...now almost everyone plays earl weaver ball...sit on your ass and wait for the 3 run dinger...when is the last time we saw any team score a run w/o the benefit of a hit or error???...while that never was a frequent occurance it wouldnt be unusual to see it 5 -10 times a season..nowadays you never see it.. with the way the game has changed id have to agree..that speed isnt a requirement for a lead off man anymore..its more like a luxary...
