Thank you killa And Cerb...is that why he had no black players on his team, and they were all white? whitesoxfan...he had no black players on his team because no schools in the south allowed blacks to attend back then...the only colleges blacks could attend in the south up until the 60's were all black colleges... cerb..you have any links or facts to back up bryant being a racist or is this just opinion because he was a southerner because i have heard otherwise??? ...sometime in the 60's when asked about if he thought black players could help his team he was quoted as saying something to the effect that..if in 10 years you see more then 10 white boys on my team it will mean i had a horrible year recruiting... that doesnt sound like a racist to me..i got a feeling like alot of southerners from that generation racism was passed down to him by his father and as time went on and he gained life experience he changed with the times...i know towards the end of bryants career he had quite a few black athletes at alabama.. one thing did bother me about that m ovie...if that was an accurate portrayal of the kind of man bear bryant was , why did all his players seem to respect him at that reunion 25 years later???...i got a feeling some of those things...like headbutting that kid in the face or kicking that kid in the ribs when he was dying was a little overboard

another thing i like about this trade is vidro is LF.. a couple things about vidro that seem to be misundersttod...he is not fast in 6 seasons he as 14 sb's and been caught 12 times...i believe he is a power hitter in the sense that durham was..lots of doubles and homers in the 15-20 range..alot more consistent then ray having hit 300 each of the past 4 seasons...as good as a nuber 2 hitter he is , i think with the sox he would have great production protecting konerko...with vidro behind konerko paulie would see alot more fastballs...or to break up the line up have vidro bat between paulie and maggs... what to do with manos???..i havent seen anyone mention this but what about manos in LF???..i love him on SS myself but we know W's new b**** is jimenez and im sure JM will be under orders to play him.. jimenez SS valentin LF thomas DH maggs RF vidro 2b konerko 1B borchard CF crede 3B olivo / barrett C if we ran a line up out like that..i would get the '00 feeling all over again...the question marks.. 1.will an outfield of manos - borchard - maggs kill us defensively??..rowand would be the 4th outfielder and can replace manos and move to cf moving borchard to LF for late inning defense...i think if we lived with carlos in LF we can live withv manos - borchard in left and center.. 2. can jimenez lead off and play SS???..thats a big question mark that we didnt have in '00 ..durham had an awesome'00..120 runs scored??...for this to work jimenez HAS TO COME THROUGH!!! i think we are in better shape at C , 3b , 1b , and starting pitching then we were going into the '00 season our pitching staff 1. colon 2. buehrle 3. wright 4. rauch 5. ritchie / biddle thats better going in then the '00 staff was..though the '00 taff did pitch its ass off i thin kthe bullpens are close with '00 being a little better going in as far as rumors go i think this one is realistic..a deal like this or similiar is sitting on the expos desk..unfortanuately there are about 20 other offers from other GM's sitting on the spos desk too...will they take this one??...i dont know...one advantage we got going in is that reinsy and selig are good buds and MLB is running the spos...

this rumor has carlos lee , jon garland , willie harris , a minor leaguer and cash going to montreal for bartolo colon and jose vidro.. let me say this...this sounds like a KW trade...we give away more players then we get and cash too...and its a starting pitcher and a 2nd baseman for the same...very typical of the moves KW likes to make.. but i dont think its gonna happen because it would actually be a great move for the sox providing the minor leaguer wasnt borchard , rauch or one of our top 5 prospects...colon is better than garland ever will be..same with vidro and harris...those are both huge upgrades...colon might even push buehrle to the 2 spot... as for losing carlos lee...well you all know im not his biggest fan

if daal came out and ask for 2.5 million then he probably wouldnt get it...he's asking for 5..probably settle for 3

rebuild the defense first...is there areal shut down cornerback in this draft...if there is cant miss stud at CB then id go that way..a real SS would be nice too in the likes of tony parrish (angelo should be shot for letting him go and replacing him with mr irrelevent)...speedy outside LB would be next..then a wr/rb.. my QB would either be burris if he somehow gets a chance to prove himself or go after kurt warner who i think st louis would deal over bulger...or if there is a better free agent option at QB then go that way.. i wouldnt draft a QB because the one thing the bears dont do is develop QB's...we mised the boat on drew bledsoe..he would have been perfect..

it would have been nice to start burris when we suffered our 8th loss which meant the season was over...then we would have had 6 games to evaluate him...maybe he wasnt ready but if in those 6 games he showed enough promise to prove that he could be a good QB we would have to draft one..which we suck at anyways...no matter which QB we draft..he will be the next cade mcnown... i agree 100% when madden said in the green bay game that someteams just cant draft a QB and thats the bears...no matter who they draft fails... bears draft LB's and RB's...not QB's...its like a jinx or something

it jauron's new way of breaking in QB's..see he used to give mcnown a whole series a game..but that didnt work..so now he brings burris in for one play to hand off...he is taking his time with burris..he will be ready to start in the 2057 season opener!!!
