losing parrish and harris and not replacing them with free agents is what really hurt the bears...those were two quality football players that were replaced with two guys (azumah , green) that are not NFL quality players...combine that with all the injuries and we stink.. even if the bears got the first pick angelo probably wouldnt take a QB..he is pitiful... its time for the "henry burris experience"..what have we got to lose...if he turns out to be the next kurt warner then we dont need to draft a QB...which we wont anyways...cause angelo is pitiful...this brought to you by the department of redundancy department:huh

how about 4 mil less in salary..........and a few years of youth.... and we all know how kw loves those young guys...... isnt koch eligable for arbitration this off season???...which would mean he might be making atleast a much as foulke???
-

gee, i wonder what billy koch thinks of this trade??..coming from a team that wins to the sox and im sure he heard ray -ray talk about how KW runs this place like it is a maximum security prision...he must be thrilled
-
gheez , left off another of my favorites off the rythem and blues list...stevie wonder
-
valentin will be here after next year... the sox will resign him for about 50% of what he makes now,,so that will be around 2.5 mil..who the hell else is gonna play SS???...jimenez???...gimme a break..we will spend atleast that much on another free agent SS so why not keep jose???..he's perfect for the sox..he comes cheap
-
Interesting...I miss out on these tidbits way out in California schu was the one that told danny evans he should resign after the announcement of KW..schu was pissed about that...schu helped get evans the asst GM job last year with the dodgers
-
couple of things if koch is eligable for arbitration..then he will make atleast as much as foulke..so no savings there MJ might not be the second comming of johhnny bench..but if he ends up playing behind miguel olivo as the back up he is probably better than 90% of the back up catchers in baseball...he's a lefty , he bunts and handles the bat real well and he is solid defensively...the alternative is josh paul and lee evans...dont underestimate the value of a solid defensive catcher as a back up...they start 2 games a week and get into atleast 2 more...thats alot of PT..i dont want it to go to a guy like paul or evans... who is the minor leaguer bean will pry away from KW???...wouldnt surprise me if he pluck corwine malone from KW's grasp...billy bean loves young lefties...would you want the trade then?? KW dealing with billy bean???...no thanx..because we will be :****

if schu is going to balt id almost on thomas following him...what a great way for schu to get back at JR for not picking danny evans as his replacement
-
I wish GS owned the White Sox me too :****

not sure how i feel about that..koch had a very good yer last year while foulke struggled..but they both could revert back to '01 form where foulke was the better pitcher...thats probably what would happen with our luck....un like others..im not ready to give up on MJ yet...i still think he could develop into a pretty decent catcher
-
He still cant run bases. yup..the more he walks the more we get to watch him get picked off...he plays baseball like he is stoned...his awareness is horrible...bye bye carlos
-
no one is argueing that harold wasnt though..but when they brought him back for that last game they should have made a bigger deal out of it..if cal ripen got a seat and dirt from old comiskey harold should have gotten alot more..

I respect anyone who names B. B. King and uses the phrase "white boy _______" which is the way I describe Linkin Park, white boy rap. (Not a knock on Linkin Park by the way, I like them a hell of a lot and I read they are recording their next one now.) i always liked that ohrase myself..rod stewart had a great voice for blues...too bad he went disco in the mid-late 70's cubkilla...foprgot about queen..they were a great band

if we are gonna name more than one 60's rock...jimi hendrix , eric clapton (cream) 70's rock...steely dan , supertramp , early 70's stones , chicago , ted nugent , carole king , 80's rock....police , ac/dc , van halen (david lee roth only) ,mellencamp , bon jovi , def leppard ,george thoroughgood(sp?) punk...dead kennedys , sex pistols , the ramones (your basic big 3 of punk i guess) jazz...grover washington jr , pat methany , earl klugh blues ...johnnie lee hooker , bb king , white boy blues (rod stewart , jeff beck - late 60's early 70's) , paul butterfield bluesbreakers southern rock.. molly hatchet , johnie van zandt band , greg allman , marshall tucker band , ozard mountain daredevils , alanta rythym section.. rythem and blues ..earth wind and fire , 5th dimension , four tops , temptations p-funk...brothers johnson , george clinton , rick james country...hank williams jr, patti lovelace , george straight , reba mcintyre , guess thats enough :puke

they got lucky with erickson...he is from the pacific northwest and said for years that he wanted to go back thwere and coach...he considers himself in semi-retirement now..he has a small ranch east of corvallis that he plans to retire on.. the last coach oregon state had was jerry pettibone...whose big claim to fame was back to back winning season at northern illinois...while jerry was a great guy he couldnt recruit top athletes because he didnt have erickson's rep so his wishbone offense didnt cut it in the PAC-10 ....once erikson leaves thats the quality of coaches oregon state will get again..

i ahvent seen the hit yet (sick and busy - a bad combination ) but ill add this.. as a football coach who coaches middle schoolers i tell my kids to not even watch the NFL anymore because tackling has become a joke...the lague doesnt give a damn...they have john madden on monday night football saying what a great hit mike brown put on a guy when brown came flying in with his head down and hit the guy in the knees to knock him off his feet...THAT IS NOT GOOD TACKLING AND JOHN MADDEN KNOWS THIS...and so do these other comentators that look the other way.. you dont lead with your helmet when you tackle..its than simple..its dangerous for the tackler as well as the guy being tackled....there have been about 10 dbacks the past 10 years or so that have been paralyized from hits where they led with their head down(in college)...using the helmet as a weapon is dangerous... watch the bears this sunday...count how many times you see a form tackle...thats where a defender puts his head and shoulders across the body of the ballcarrier (with his head up) at the waist then wraps up his legs and lifts and drives him to the ground...i havent seen one of those for three weeks now..then count how many missed tackles you see..the number of missed tackles by the bears are amazing...you see 2-3-4 on any single play...rarely does any bear defender these days bring a guy down one on one...the tackle is a lost art in the NFL.. its amazing to me that these defensive coaches are not fired for how their teams perform...i just cant believe how unfundemetally sound professional football players are when it comes to tackling as fara s sapp goes....if he led with his helmet when he hit this guy then he should be held responsible for his injuries...if the hit was with his head up and with the shoulder pads then it was clean...YOU CANT LEAD WITH THE HELMET....

enjoy it now...only gets tougher as the years go on

Yep, that was an ugly game. Oregon State was stocked that year, then the next season they came in with super high preseason Rankings with like Simenton as their running back and well, Fresno State upset them and they went way downhill. oregon state relies heavily on JC transfers with a lot of skills but are guys who are passed on by the other pac-10 schools because of either grades or attitude...if you ever been to corvallis you would know why..while i enjoy a town like that some kid from the inner city would never feel at home there... to compete they have to take the leftovers and means alot of JC transfers who dont get any other offers...so their program rolls over every 2 years as opposed to 4...putting together any kind of a consecutive successful seasons is almost impossible...i always thought oregon state would be much more successful if they moved into the WAC or mountain west conferences

he also screwed up by taking that penalty at the end...the bears were loking at 4th and 10 and 52 yard fg into a strong wind...even the old senial dunken bastard pat summerall commented that he would have declined the penalty and forced the bears to kick it...as it turned out we gain 15 yards on the next play and make it an easier fg...with the lions secodary so beat up they only had 5 d-backs and couldnt play a true dime defense..it made no sense to give the bears another shot
