  1. hahahaha...sorry i had to quote that...it was worth a 2nd read thats too funny..thanx HSC what really makes it funny is deep down she is right....this organization wont win anything until they really get serious..this one move really doesnt prove anything unless they back it up with signing a jeff suppan or dare i dream, IROD, or somebody like that...and oh yeah...sign colon long term
  2. right now the sox are the only staff in baseball with 4 - 30 start / 190 IP pitchers....this imo is huge...it saves us from burning out a suspect bullpen..add one more solid starter and id say we are a lock on the division
  3. molto...kw still is an idiot...this one deal can not erase all the things he has done in the past...trading for the wrong player ...spies in the clubhouse...clayton / ritchie...publically blasting players in the paper and on the radio...ect , ect ,ect... lets just hope he gets one more starting pitcher via free agency and we can win inspite of him..he take take all the credit...sox fans will have a championship..(dreaming , i know)
  4. since this might be a one shot deal with colon i think the sox should sign a free agent pitcher for that final spot..i think suppan , who has thrown 200 plus innings the past 4 season would be the last ingredient in locking up the division...suppan , imo , would move into the 3 spot moving garland and wright to 4 and 5...just think last week those guys were 2and 3....if we can drop them to 4 and 5 how much stronger has our staff become??? if made this move we would have a vetran led staff in the top 3 of colon , buehrle and suppan..this move would give us 3 starters that are perennial 30 starts / 200 IP pitchers...with both garland (192 ip) and wright (196) very close to joining that group...this is the same formula anaheim used to win the world series last year...they were the only team in the majors to have 5 pitchers with a legit history of 30 starts and 190 IP per season...adding suppan would do the same for us... to compare this to minnesota last year...rick reed, who is now departed led their staff with 188 IP...kyle loshe is next with 180...radke , mays and milton all have thrown 30/200 before but were all injured last year..picking suppan would mean even if minnesota's 3 injured pitchers return to top form we would still have one more 30/190 pitcher... imo, if kenny really wants to win this year , suppan is a must
  5. Yeah his 8-2 record and 3.86 ERA blew ass last year. Thank god he is gone. kenny williams will get my appreciation when he improves on the team he inherited...that means atleast back to back division titles and advancement in the playoffs...with the team , payroll and minor league system he inherited , it should have been a cake walk to owning this division... as much as i like this trade..if we dont sign colon to a long term deal this is real only a one time shot at a world series and does nothing to improve the team for years to come.... id call this step one on a long road to recovery
  6. hey bonnie...long time no chat that was a cool post..glad you guys will be hanging around
  7. glover the past to seasons is 12-13 with a 5.10 era...and the disturbing news is his '02 was worse than his '01...his hits, walks and runs per IP were all up from '01 while his strike outs were down....this guy is going backwards... why do so many sox fans think this guy is the 2nd coming??? betweeen ginter and glover for the bullpen...think id take matt..though id really want to replace both of them
  8. the guy is 27 ...so what???...i dont care if he is 37 but can he play???...that should be the question...its this kind of thinking that lets a guy like david eckstein slip through everyone's fingers... he's got some decent numbers...his aerm and range seem real nice...cant hurt to give him a legit shot this spring as a utility guy.and if harris / jiminez fall on their collective faces this guy could be a diamond in the rough
  9. somehow i feel real old right now
  10. i never got into that show anyways..i watched one episode that little ozzie jr is such a jag bag i couldnt stomach another episode
  11. its hard to throw picks when your constantly inactive due to injury
  12. hasnt that been the bears MO since sid luckman retired???...just get someone , anyone for QB???

    What if...

what if we hired danny evans over kenny williams???...danny evans said he was after ron schueler for two years to get odalis perez when evans made that trade...so think about buehrle and perez as a couple of young lefties to anchor the staff to go along with kip wells, jon garland and danny wright
  14. With 5 lbs Baggio? I gotta party with you man. LOL lol....5 lbs...how do you fit 5 lbs of pot on your person???...wouldnt that be about a 30 gallon garbage bag???
  15. Let's not forget Anthony Thomas, Curtis Enis, and some of those s***ty tight ends we've had over the last few years. dont forget that great OT stan thomas..1st round pick who got cut his rookie year...and trading a number one pick for rick mirer..lol..the list goes on and on and on
  16. have they charged him with anything yet???...until then its all speculation...wonder if he volunteered for drug rehab if it would help???...
  17. go for leftwich..palmer is another surfer boy type like mcclown...i couldnt take that again !!!
  18. if the option is another year of miller / whatever other bum we decide on as number 2 then hell yeah ...go get him..but i hope we draft leftwich

    Fuck That!!!

if you run into the kicker they are gonna call it....it was one of those situations where the guy had to sell out and try and get the block at all costs - he missed - ran into the kicker - end of story...it was a chip shot FG so you had to figure nedney would make it...im guessing nedney saw him comming and knew he was gonna get clobbered and thats what affected his kick cause he missed it badly...if that guy wasnt coming like that nedney probably makes it..so when you hit the kicker they have to call it
  20. this is typical of bears draft practices throughout the years...trade down a high pick or wait to the 2nd round to get a substandard QB instead of taking the very best available...we havent had a real QB since sid luckman...you would think if a talent like leftwich is on the board it would be a no brainer for a franchise that has been QB - LESS for almost 60 years now
  21. im with you on leftwich jason...i saw on special on him on of all stations, MTV...what a cool kid...hhis comes down for every home game and he insists she stays at his apartment...instead of partying he spends time with his mom..they also showed him taking out his offensive line for steak dinners prior to each season opener..plus he studies game film like crazy.. he would be the perfect fit for chicago..the non - cade mcnown....
  22. cwsox, most of us dont get to see fick as much as you do...alot of us remember that 3 game series in detriot last year where he won 2 of those games with his bat and glove...remember when he threw out two guys at 3rd base from RF??...i wouldnt say those throws would rival roberto clemente but they were two of the better throws i saw all of last year....plus the guy is left handed and has hit for both power and average in his career.....you might not like him..but he does have talent..maybe it doesnt show up as often as it should and thats why he fell out of favor in detroit but he does have the talent to play this game if he ever gets his head on straight...maybe going to a class organization like the braves , where winning and the effort towards winning is demanded from the very top on down will be just what fick needs to reach his potential...
  23. mark my words...miles will catch on with someone and become the next david eckstein...very similiar styles of play , body size , and demeanor...
  24. cerb...a sept call up doesnt mean those guys made it....time will tell on that...but all you do is keep harping on that shuey trade...that trade didnt hurt LA like the ritchie trade hurt us....the ritchie was much more devestating to the sox...it was a worse deal for williams...plus i asked you thjis once nd you refuse to answer...when has KW made a move similiar to the perez/jordan for sheffield move that evans made??....you know a major move where there is no doubt who got the better of the deal... danny evans is doing an excellent job in LA...and it shows in their record...i think you refuse to admit it because then its just another realization of lousy this fanchise really is... hope you are prepared for 75 wins..because thats about where we will be at if this slide continues
