damn. i missed all the fun again .....hsc ill give ya a call tomorrow about soxfest...thanks for the offer.. personally i think kruzer has a crush on HSC..he is following her around from board to board like a lost puppy... -
no arguement there...

this is a good signing..white has been a very consistent set up man / middle reliever his entire career...he struggled in colorado but he sure isnt the first pitcher to do that (mike hampton , darryl kile)...after he got traded to st louis his era in the heat of a pennant race was under 1...prior to that his last 4 years his era was in the 3's...very good move...it takes gary glover and his 5 plus era and moveshim to mop up man..it also means we only need an 11 man staff so we can go find a left power hitter for our bench

what about david justice??...id almost take him because its almost a sure bet whatever team he plays on wil lgo to post season...its uncanny with that guy

we have 6 main players we have to sign or pay next year...here is how i see it breaking down..i wont go length of contract..just what i think they will earn next year maggs 13 mil colon 12 thomas 7 mil ( i think thats his increased pick up value by the sox) buehrle 5 mil konerko 5 mil koch 7 mil thats 49 million for those 6 guys...if we set payroll next year at 65 million next year we would have 16 million to sign the remaining 19 players....it can be done..considering about 10 of those guys will be making the minimum or close to it..the guys we would have to pay would be valentin and lee...everyone else should come it at 2 million or less... we could keep all our main players and still stay in a budget that the chairman would agree to..this is doable

does the phrase "ambulance chaser" pop into anyone elses mind when they hear the name scott boros???

jordan 18 -80 285...sheffield 25 -84 307..sheffield is better but not by that much..take into account jordan has a reputation as a clubhouse leader who is a real team player..sheffield is pretty much a s***head....kinda evens things out.. perez , a lefty , is only 24 and in his first season as a starter went 15-10 with a 3.00 era...that mark buehrlesque...give me mark buehrle for free and id sure call it a steal.. though i must say after watching KW come out on the wrong end of trade after trade my objectivity might be a clouded

danny wouldnt come here anyeays so its a moot point...cal ripken??...hmmm..would be good publicity for the sox...we could sure use some...i have no idea if he has the skill to do the job though...if he does then by all means cal would be the man from our own organization...what about nick leyva??..he played and managed in the bigs..and has been with us for awhile now so he knows the org..maybe harold baines???

i thought it was already that way I'd tend to agree -- did you get the UM cd to HSC? I am anxious to see it and very grateful to you - are you coming to SoxFest? I think a ticket for any day can be located.... oh crap..you wont believe this..i left the tape in the vcr and my son started recording over it...i stopped at halftime so i now have only the first half..im in touch with the guy i got it from to see if he will send me another copy...i might have to get it to you twice...once for each half..lol..im really sorry...i will atleast have the first half for you by the weekend.. -
"supposed to be so good" is the key to that sentence.............wunch and glover??? your honestly going to trust those two at relief.....one cant stay healthy all season and the other cant get his head out of his ass long enough to pitch.............gordon im not pinning any hopes on cause hes another injury prone guy... im sure if things look like they arent going his way this season he will be down for the count with an injury... then what????? so all we have is koch (who hasnt pitched one ball for US yet so we cant judge him) and marte who ....well.......ok he did alright last year but he cant pitch each and every game if all the others fail can he now????????? we need help..............face it.............. Me and you seem to find more things to disagree about. I felt Glover did a decent job out of the pen last year. He was much more effective in relief than as a starter. Wunsch has been halfway decent at getting out that one or two lefty hitter that you need to get by. So, yes, in their defined roles, I felt they were at least adequate. As for Flash, he won't have to carry the load so he can be used carefully so that he remains healthy. Whether Koch has thrown any pitches for us or not, is a moot point. He has been effective in the American League, so yes, I feel that based on that he can be accurately judged and we can have a reasonable expectation of what kind of performance we will get from him. im not sold on glover at all..he might have pitched well in the pen but tht was for a limited amount of time...he still has yet to carry an era under 5 for a full season.. wunch i loved in '00...i can only we get that version of kelly this year..he was fine as a lefty specialist...getting out one or two tough lefties...but it would add flexibilty to the pen if he could ocassionally go an inning or 2...he couldnt do that last year... everytime gordon takes the mound all of chicago will be holding its collective breath on every pitch that its not the one where we hear a "pop" in the elbow.. marte im fine on..he does have great stuff...should only improve koch..he still has to prove it to me in a sox uni...i dont buy the kieth foulke sucked so koch wins by default arguement...manuel messed up foulke last year..every closer struggles at some point in his career..in '01 billy koch's era was 4.80..if that happens this year how will that fly with jerry???..with that said if i had to bet id bet on koch and not against him...but he is not a sure thing yet.. porzio , ginter , whoever really doesnt do it for me..thopugh i was pulling hard for porzio last year...maybe he will be the surprise this year..who knows

did we ever get that berry or barry??? i dont recall anything about him... well except that kw couldnt figure out how to spell it...........i think we got robbed......... he played the rest of that season for charlotte...then the sox sold his contract to a japanese team

Please don't talk out of your ass. He must have some hard luck if he kicked our ass each and every time if over the last 2 seasons he has compiled 6 losses and a 5.34 ERA against us. no team goes through the season with just 5 starters...you always need a 6th arm somewhere down the road...suppan would be an excellent insurance policy against injury or failure by any of our starters (rauch..is he really ready??..two good game sin sept really doesnt answer that question) if rauch or god forbid one of our other starters go down to injury its GARY GLOVER TIME!!!!!..then , just like last year we are weakening the bullpen and putting in a guy in the 5th spot thats a complete failure as a starter...so in essence a injury to the starting rotation is also an injury to the bullpen.. get suppan..or somebody that can fill that 5th spot or pitch long relief until needed

Very well put! ill 2nd that

Yeah he would. No question he would. Unless documentation of Cobb betting on baseball was found prior to the vote. Jerks and scums can make the hall, but betting on baseball violates the intregrity of the game and cannot be tolerated. agree 100% with cw...baseball will forgive any transgression...except gambling on the game....just not acceptable..it hasnt been since the first player was banned for life back in 1876

I disagree that Danny Evans should be GM - the man traded for Hundley for pete's sake - he is totally unimpressive as a GM. Manuel should be kept, IMHO, I would love to see him manage us again without KW as GM. JR can continue on as owner (as if our opinion makes a difference) because I know he does care, For the rest of what you posted: a major Right On! The biggest liar in baseball is almost too kind of a sobriquet. he traded away karros and grudzielaniek for hundley and freed up 5 million in cash which he used to sign fred mcgriff...5 million cash, mcgriff and hundley vrs karros and grud sounds like a winner for LA...but all youre seeing is hundley and not looking any further... plus he stole odalis perez from the braves.... danny evans..come on home !!!!..we need ya!!!

True, but I think he could get at least 5 million his first year. And assuming he improves, there's no telling how high he could get in future years. 5 is what i was thinking...if mark stays the course he will max out at 10-12 mil his final year
-
i dont think buehrle will get 10 million in his first year of arbitration...millwood is in the last year of arbitration...they wont give buehrle 10 million his first year because if he keeps improving he would be asking for 20 million when he gets to his last year of arbitration...also the process is designed so that neither side will ask for an outragoues amount because if they do the arbitrator will side with the other party...if buehrle's agent asked for 10 million and the sox offered 3 million...its very likely buehrle could lose...but , if his agent asked for 6 million..he would be almost assured of winning...

i remember reading that post...good job CW on putting it all together...good detective work...ill believe this person over anything that comes out of KW...KW, this is for you :fyou
-
oh yes we will..believe me the tinkerer will find a way to get 100 games each out of valentin , jimenez , harris , hummel , miles, and aaron miles girlfriend

I thought $2.75 was day-of-game price. Garage sale price should be much cheaper..... base the price on the amount of pocket lint one has on their person while browsing hell, they may pay me to take them all out of there... you can make out like a bandit!!!

youre probably right....that 4.2 million dollar salary is a big albatross around his neck right now...wtf was KW thinking that day???
