this is how i look at t he carlos lee situation...he makes 4.2 million this year...last year of his contract...next year he is arbitration eligable...if he has similiar numbers to last year he probably ios looking at 6 million easy from the arbitrator...NO FRIGGEN WAY do you pay carlos lee 6 million...NEVER...i doubt any other team will pay him that much either so next year he becomes untradable...the only option...he becimes a non-tendered free agent and we get nothing for him...move him now...while he is still affordable to some team...let daubach play LF...maybe we could get a decent starter for lee...or a functional CF...daubach probably sux as a LF..but he cant be worse than lee...no one is... we could have very well signed daubach to replace lee...thats if kenny has learned to think that far ahead... the other signings...burke hit 305 last year at salt lake city.... i like it..any catcher that has AAA experience is ahead of what we have after paul...and that catcher could be our number 2 guy not if but whne alomor goes on the 60 day DL and if paul is lost due to being out of options...so burke could be our number 2 catcher before long... the rest...loiaza sucks..heredia is well past being a has been...cooper im not sure about..never heard of him...others are a waste

i dont really take is gospell either...i just use it because thats the most frequently quoted number and i dont know to find the real number...really not that important ...i suppose i could just use "a significant amount " or something like that in place of 10%...if its 2 - 5 or 10%..thats still a good number of people when you take into account world population.. but remember...people are wrong when they say stuff like if 10% of the population is gay then 10% of baseball or football players are gay too...thats just too simplistic..because my comeback is if thats the case then you agree that only 10% of male figure skaters are gay??...it seems that gay atletes are attracted to some sports over others so if you have a bunch in one sport you will have less in others.. same thing for populations in general...i would think if everyone in your community treated gay people who came out the way your friend was treated then anyone who was gay would get the hell out of there..or if they stayed made damn sure they put up the good ole boy image..now while there may only be 2% of the population thats gay in your area places like san fran and kew west fl, ect must have more than that..so it evens out..consider where you live football and san fran are the figure skaters im not sure what the number is..but 10%could be close..maybe its more like 5

i know , like on monday night football , that they are told to make sure they annouce to the more casual fan who has little knowledge of football..its even moreso in the superbowl..i guess the NFL feels this is the game where they have the best chance of getting people who arnt fans interested in football...so the announcing is geared towards them.. with that said..john , its time to put your bus out to pasture...just retire baby!!!

i like country music myself...i like just about all kinds of music...i also agree shania twain is hot , hot , hot..so im fine for shania!!!...for those that dont know shania comes from as far away from country music as possible...its either in the vary far northern part of alberta , well north of edmonton or in the northwest territories...i cant for sure remember which...but she did a special from her hometown in the middle of april and there was like 3 feet of snow on the ground and everyone got around by snowmobile..prettycool.. i do like gwen stefani..probably more then the band...when they almost broke up because of jealousy because gwen was getting the attention i figured her career would have gone even farther on her own...she got serious talent mixed with just as much sex appeal.....she looks alot like madonna did whe she was younger...ill bet gwen was a huge dale bozio/missing persons fan...her sound and style is almost identical to dale bozio's....missing persons was an awesome new wave band in the early 80's...guess imitation is the greatest form of flattery.. and sting...well the police and sting might be my all time favorite band..especially their early stuff before outlandis d'amour..it was all on underground stuff...they had a real hard edgy punk sound in the 70's..."dead end job" might be my all time favorite song..never made it on their label which sucked...i though for sure they would re-release that on one of their albums...even when they sold out to commercialism i couldnt help but like their stuff...yeah, they have to be my all time favorite band to me..this superbowl halftime show was the best ever...it rocked

my reasoning on that is i think its more important to get your rotation set for the year and that doesnt really mean your best pitcher goes first...2nd best 2nd and so on...breaking up colon and buehrle also means there will be no 3 games series ever where a team would miss both pitchers..would hate to go into a 3 game series in the twinkie dome with the 3-4-5 pitchers being garland , wright and rauch..

Im guessing this stupid game would be the Super Bowl, which in my opinion is the most boring one weve had in like a decade? You a Raiders fan, wsc? Im not but Im gonna lose 5 bucks if they lose (Id gain twenty if they win). They just blocked a punt and took it in for the touchdown but theyre still down by 19 with 14:16 left. The Raiders have a potent offense and theres a tiny possibility that they come back and that would make it one of the greatest Super Bowls in history. But I doubt that will happen... sorry dude..not agaisnt a john gruden coached team...if it were against a wannstadt team then id say you would have a chance...but gruden is one of the best when it comes to time management

id be shocked if minnesota's pen repeats last years performance..plus they are jerking around eddie gaurdado the way KW is mark buehrle...buehrle handled it nicely last year..will gaurdado do the same???...they had so many below average journeyman pitchers step up with huge seasons...the odds of all of them not regressing some are astronomical...shoring up a bullpen is the easiest thing to do in baseball...there are always a bunch of good quality relievers to be had for a nickle and dime (relaltively speaking) through free agency...i think minnesota will be kicking themselves in the ass for not making some moves...plus they already start out behind last year since mike jackson is a free agent...they have to replace him

am i missing something on lee???..everyone is saying he is a free agent after this year.. i think even i said it but he only has like 3 years 300 days of ML service in...he started in '99 and played 127 games..im almost sure he spent like april in the minors..making his first year not a full season...dont we have him for 2 more years after this season if thats the case??? the problem with lee is we overpaif him so much that if he goes to arbitration and asks for 6 million all he needs is an average year by his standards to get it....no other team will take that much of a contract on with lee...there is a very good chance he could end up a non-tendered free agent...but i believe we still own his rights... if my facts are correct here..it might really be time to move carlos now...or we might end up with nothing for him

id break it up this way....whoever is pitching better between buehrle and colon coming out of ST starts the monday opening day game in KC....whoever is pitching better between wright and garland coming out of ST starts game 2 ... the loser of that battle game 3 , then the colon/buehrle loser( i hate to use the word loser) gets to start the home opener friday...this way..our two best pitchers get to start both openers (sell out crowds..well maybe not in kc ) and it also sandwiches them inbetween our 5th starter....after that 1st week the sox only have 3 days off in april..so whatever rotation we settle on will pretty much be set for the month...

KW already said that the addition of colon and the innings he can work means the sox will only take 11 pitchers north... im not counting on rowand being ready...without any further moves i believe borchard will open in CF..ive heard all this stuff about the sox not thinking he is ready and even joe himself saying he is not ready but he is a bonus baby.. he's now 24...austin kearns ,22 and adam dunn ,23 two guys that were compared to borchard in the minors are both in the majors doing very well...with pitchers its a different story..with an everyday player like borchard with his kind of talent its time...plus he has what rowand will never have and something this team needs desperately... left handed power...left handed "big time " power... i figure in the last two spots...borchard ahead of rowand (who may start the year on the DL) and paul instead of ginter...we will go with three catchers since mr. versatility can play other places... i dont think there will be any real surprise players like porzio was last year

physco...ill just add this...you said when your friends start ragging on gays you dont join in anymore you jsut say nothing...thats a move i nthe right direction...but you now got a chance to take it a step further...next time your friends are giving these kids a hard time you might want to consider trying to steer them in another direction...thats a big step and one you might not be ready for but its one if you want to grow into being a person of honor ,character and strength you will have to make someday.. it will be tough on you if you do it...there is no telling how your friends will react..they might make fun of you..call you gay..or even stop hanging with you...so you wou would have to be ready for that... i can honestly say when i was your age i didnt and wouldnt have had the courage to do that myself...i never raged on others but i never came to thier defense either..its something i learned later in life but wish i had learned earlier...its something i try and teach my kids..to stand up for those that are the underdog..or are in a situation where they are so outnumbered they have no chance to defend themselves...when my sons do do the right thing im so proud of them because i know they are learning these lessons at a much younger age then i did..and will be that much farter along them i was when they go out on their own...hopefully it makes their path to success a little easier then mine was..or still is.. by doing this does not mean you are gay or even support the idea of being gay..it just means you are supporting people treating each other with respect and dignity...acting man enough to realize the whole world is not going to always think like you do and thats not always a bad thing.... you took a step in the right direction...i hope you have the courage to someday carry it even further...

got one more thing to add about baldwin...he will always have my (and should have every sox fans) admiration and respect for taking the ball in game 3 of the alds in '00 when he knew he was going to have surgery on his shoulder and he was risking even further damage to give us a shot...there was no finanacial gain for him to pitch ..he was getting his money either way...he did it for the love of the game...and with virtually nothing on the ball and his arm dead he went 6 innings giving up one run (if memory serves me right)...took a real man to do that..and who knows how much more that one game he pitched for all of us took out of his arm...it could be the reason he might be pitching in the KC minor league system this year and to think what that jag off KW said about him when he traded him after all that JB gave this organization made me ill..god i hate that little puke

okay..my take then is similiar to yours...but we were talking about this in context to the story on soxnet where the author gave KW al lthe credit for the colon and making him out to be like a god of the GM's because of it...thats where the attacks came from... it wasnt so much we were ripping KW (WELL WE WERE ) but this guy brought it on with his failure to point out anything negative that KW has done..
