I wish baseball season hurry up and get started!!!
baggio202 replied to CSF's topic in Pale Hose Talk
this is just my opinion not really advice.. if you get a chance to intern for a ML team and you passed it up..you'd be an idiot...stay in school and take the safe path and you'll end up like the rest of us..you'll get a decent job making a nice living but it wont be what your real passion is...take the chance..you only live once..you can always go back to school..just make sure you do it before you get married -
it must be me because everyone else seems to love glover and his 5 plus era...but i dont see it....yeah he's got a great curv eball...but so did kevin bierne...look what happened to him..i see bierne and glover as very similiar pitchers...this has to be glover's make or break year...if he gets off to a slow start look for him to be replaced by possibly munoz or somebody who is tearing it up at AA or AAA... i like the make up of our bullpen alot right now..i think rick white is a huge acquaition...here is a guy that has a reputation as being a real hard ass and loves to throw inside...maybe some of that will rub off on glover... but one thing that bothers me is we arnt deep and we do have a couple guys down there that are injury question marks (gordon , wunsch)..id feel a lot better with one more quality arm added to the mix...that should be a move that happens as the season progesses...when we figure out if that need is a lefty or righty.... a lot of players start becoming available by june once teams that are struggling decide that this might not be their year....

the hardest ball ive ever seen hit ay comiskey was in '70 by bill melton..there was a 40 mph wind blowing in from LF....melton hit a line shot into the upper deck that shattered a seat...i saw it on TV... the hardest hit ball ive seen from anyone was glenallen hill's rofftop shot...that thing sounded like it was shot out of a cannon...think about all the great power hitters that played at wrigley...and no one ever came close to hitting one on the roof before....it wasnt ever even talked about because no one could even fathom it happening

cant you pick up the wciu games on the other teams station???

Douche-chills are the worst man. Like that scene with Farley and Spade in "Tommy Boy" where Farley's flipping through the radio stations and stops on a Carpenter's song. Needless to say, by the end of the scene, both Farley and Spade are crying and singing every lyric to the song word-for-word. It's exactly like that scene....... You.......light up life.......you give me hope.............. to carry on You light up my day........and fill my nights with song.......... ' it cant be wrong...... cause it feels sooo right!!!! Tears...... if that song gets stuck in my head too...im comming to kick your ass !!!

if the bears had a history of developing QB's then id say that would be good strategy...if we were san francisco then you would have a point...but were not...we havent really developed a stud QB that hung around for ten years or so since the 1940's and sid luckman... leftwich is a perfect fit for the bears...he has the skills..arm , intelligence , leadership , mobility , toughness ..he has his best success in cold weather...if the bears pass on him who knows when they get another shot at that type of talent... we cant afford to pass him up... id be more comfortable with your stategy above if you were talking about a RB in the 2nd round and not a QB....

i switch hit in high school..my dad had me doing it at 8 years old...he used to play minor league ball so he knew the value of not having to face that running fastball coming right at your head...thats the key for jose should he decide to quit switch hitting...will he bail on a fastball from a lefty???...if he cant handle that pitch then he need to keep on switch hitting

i agree..this is a civilian award...sorry for my earlier rant and good thing one of us kept his head Ditto i truly feel like an ass in the wrong assumption. dont worry..we wont hold it against ya..too much seruously dont worry about it...we have all f***ed up before..

if leftwich is available that idiot doesnt draft him he should be taken out and shot..dead...then shot again..

Of course I was right! Interesting too was that KW went on to say (as I heard it) that Cruz was in the Fick category in terms of personality and had no chance to play for the Sox, and KW made reference to bad club house chemistry in 2001 and 2002 as opposed to 2000 and that now personality is factor in considering players, haing learned their lesson, and that the Sox will take a player with slightly lesser talent who would provide better chemistry than a player with slightly better talent that would be a clubhouse cancer. then what the hell did he sign rios for????

the only weekend series we have the last half of May is May 23-25 against the people's choice, Detroit. Yeah, i know that one feels. well..cant help you there
-
if that were to happen ..then wgn would own both the braves and the scrubs???...soemthing gotta give
-
You are exactly right. You want attendance, you have to have draws, and we should get either the Yanks or BoSox on a weekend, and give us the Twins, not the Tigers on one of those weekends, and then even without another AL West team (which would be nice) our weekend schedule would have been decent rather than suck so bad. you can look at it another way..reguardless of who we play on the weekend if we are condending we should still draw 30K...now that leaves better games for during the week...when in the past 10k on a wed wasnt unheard of...maybe we wont have too many weeked end games with attendance over 35..but maybe we also wont have too many games where attendance is under 20k either

just because you disagree with someone's point of view doesnt mean it wasnt a good article...this guy back up his points with facts..t herefore its very well written.. leadoff man..he brings up the point that jimenez has only 8 stolen bases in over 700 at bats....thats hardly a ringing endorsement for a leadoff man..and use the injury excuse if you want..but this guy has not proven that he can carry the obp and sb's needed to be a good lead off man...until he does the author is right..this guy is a serious question mark... 2nd in the order...dont neccesarily agree with him here...he brings points about jose slipping the past few years but i think jose will hit much with thomas behind him...but i agree with him that jose is not the same playter in '00...he is 3 years older now..hitting moiddle age..10 -15 sb's max..probably in single digits... for catcher..i think olivo will make the team out of spring training,,b ut how can anyione argue with anything the author said about olivo after that???...he gave him his props for a fine season in AA ball....but olivo has all of 4 major league hits in his career...none of us have seen enough of miguel at this level to know what kind of everyday major league catcher he will be...he might be a great one someday..but what happens if its not this year??? lack of left handed hitting is huge imo...just look back to the '00 post season...lou pinella showed everyone how to beat us...and we basically have the same type line up..when the game gets into the 6th inning or later..bring in the lefty to face numbers 1and 2..then bring in the righty to go through 3 through 9....repeat it one time and you to your closer... the sox never get one at bat with a player have the righty /lefty advantage after the starter departs unless we pinch hit with daubach or rios...thats provided the bullpen has 2 lefties in it...most do..ive been screaming to trade dumbass for a 5th starter and let daubach play LF since we got him...amongst all these righties daubach could bust with a career year for him... plus ,the author doesnt even hit on the fact that rowand might not be ready...and even if he is how can anyone not look at him as a question mark... you can look at the glass half empty or half full..either way , there is enough facts for either side to make their case

unless you are talking about something he did while he was in service that was overlooked then he will never get the medal of honor...it will never happen

-
Are you talking about the Congressional Medal of Honor? yeah..can you believe this s***... what does larry doby get out of this...he was the first black player in the AL...and it was only two months after robinson that doby made his debut...doby faced all the same crap robinson..so we do give robinson the soldier's medal..???....this is so friggen stupid it would be comical if it actually wasnt happening... i only hope to god the robinson family has enough respect for themselves and for what this medal represents to not accept it...

cmon dude , still waiting what did kenny do that impressed you so much??? i can see if one is not used to being around someone who can manuiplate the conversation, can be mislead by his bs. that is what one would call a con man. kw does talk the talk. maybe that is why he was promoted. kenny is really good at bsing...it was funny...he came off smooth as silk on the stage..everyone was impressed..then after the seminar was over kenny came up to our own HSC and got mad at her..he said, why do you have to do that to me..why do you put me on the spot like that...LMAO.. those two do have a history though...and kenny doesnt forgive or forget
