  1. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) Man rizzo is really good. Kid has a great stroke Looks like the real deal to me. Good for them.
  2. Our guy has more raw talent in his arm, IMO. If he can remain healthy, his career will be among the most memorable.
  3. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 02:28 PM) Put that man up on the BANNER .......................... Against the background of a feces covered dugout with teammates running for cover. Put it together Steve!
  4. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 11:08 AM) As relief pitchers go, Bobby had a nice career. 5 pretty solid years. A few dominating stretches. 2 all star appearances. Closer on a world series winning team. No reason for Sox fans to crap on him. It was simply his time to go. Will always have fond memories of Big Bad Sweaty Bobby. He would have lost 5 pounds on the mound today in one inning.
  5. Damn, we're getting there. Getting sold on Q in a way I never was with Humber, others. Sox willing, this will be ranked among Yankees biggest FO gaffes.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) Nice start for Buehrle today. 7.2 innings, 0 runs, 0 bb, 8 k. 8-8, 3.25 ERA at the break. Leading his rotation in ERA WHIP WINS (Tied?) STONES. Not pining for him, Sox did the right thing logically, realistically, and long term (hopefully). Could Ozzie possibly have had a wake-up-call profesionally, have you noticed that he's actually grooming lately?
  7. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:41 PM) Sox had 21 hits for Sale's last start. That has to be some kind of record for hits, 78 in the last week (since last Wednesday). Jake could use a bit of this.
  8. This one game is going to make us look very "unlucky" via run differential. Not a huge fan of the stat for this reason. Yes, I know it tends to even out over the 162 - likely starting tomorrow.
  9. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) There's no way this ends well tomorrow. Axe will need to pitch the game of his life.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:26 PM) What would really be great is if Twins trade Liriano soon and means we get a lot of games against Blackburn, Hendricks, DeVries, etc Good call. Could/should happen before we play them again. They just sent Hendriks down, BTW.
  11. Blackburn totally sucks for Minny this year, now 6-6 vs. Det. Hope we see him a bunch in the 2nd half.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) He wouldn't be going cause they want him to pitch in the ASG Not a fan of this, unless he starts next Tuesday.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) What I've learned is Beckham is evil then? Saving it for tomorrow, when we'll need it.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Every hitter in the lineup has an extra base hit besides Beckham Yeah, that's just crazy. To this point in the season, our team has had an all or nothing offense like few I've seen. Gotta believe we can smooth out the inconsistency to some degree.
  15. Every hitter in the lineup has at least two hits except Beckham. Amazing.
  16. In the fielding aspect of preparing for the throw before and while gloving ground balls, Lexi is one of the best I've ever seen.
  17. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) AJ Guy's on an amazing salary drive.
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 07:51 PM) 11-0 Sox. I love this. Pull Sale now so he can go on Sunday. Only 62 pitches and he still gets the win.

    7/3 Games

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 07:42 PM) I think they go with the old "empty out the bullpen before the ASB" rotation Is Sale officially not going on Sunday? We should pull him now in this 10-0 laugher so he can.
  20. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 03:15 PM) This proves that he is still having discomfort and they aren't sure where it's coming from. Cortisone injections are done in bursa and other passive tissues. They are not used for tendons and muscles. They are looking at something other than the subscapularis tendon that was reported earlier. This is less than encouraging, but info much appreciated.
  21. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 12:53 PM) There's a documentary coming out on July 13th called "Ballplayer"... it's about baseball in the DR. Sounds like an expose of recruiting... how young kids are practically pimped to MLB teams... use of PEDs, lying about ages, skimming bonuses, etc. Looks like it will be fascinating. http://peloterothemovie.com/ Anybody familiar with this? Wasn't before you posted, so thanks. Will see it when it comes here later this month. Looks like a story that needs telling.
  22. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 07:16 PM) The rumour i keep hearing is Rocky Wirtz. Aside the fact that he is a sox fan, the word is that John McDonough would run the club and go 3 for 3 in marketing rebuild successes. Also, the whispers are that no one in Camp Jerry wants to take over when Jerry retires/dies. So even if the ownership groups stays mostly intact(there are still investors from the Veeck days), new leadership may not come from the reinsdorfs or even the einhorns( Eddie's daughter is an mlb exec and MAY come on, but who knows how much she wants to leave nyc) QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 07:02 AM) I've heard Chairman Reinsdorf has been aggressively buying out other investors recently . . . Why? Very interesting, if true. Maybe the buyer wants to own a higher % of the club than JR currently owns. Or, JR can control a sale more easily with a bigger %.
