Well, I don't think the Tribe or Royals are legit at all, but how legit do you need to be in this contest?

7/2 Games
QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 07:03 PM) Not anymore. Shoemaker in Birmingham's lineup, so everyone can finally shut the f*** up about that. One run in 3 innings for Rienzo. Not exactly torched.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 2, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/danny-kn...going-this-week I just love the inevitably argument with the Tigers and the AL Central race this year. Among other things, have they noticed that 28 y.o. Doug Fister is the average pitcher he always was, not the lightning in a bottle half-season version of last year? One of the more ridiculous assumptions about this Tiger team is that Fister would be the guy we saw for three months in '11, automatically.

6/30/12 GT: Sox at Yank$
QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 01:03 PM) It's a good, deceptive pitch. That's the only way to explain it Honestly, I don't think our hitters (fielders too) are seeing the ball at all in the daylight today. Missing a lot of hittable pitches, IMO. Hopefully, they are ready for it tomorrow.

Peavy Starts
Let's not worry too much about the nebulus "chemistry". As I recall, the early 70's A's and the Big Red Machine had plenty of guys who couldn't stand each other. Whether that's the case here or not, we're in good company - chemistry is overrated.

Why Is Dan Johnson Still at Charlotte?
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 09:41 AM) What about MOREL?? We just HAVE to continue his development, right? We neither need to give up on, nor commit to BMo. The proverbial bridge we'll cross when we get to it.

6/29 Games
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 11:24 PM) I don't know what's gotten in to Wilkins, but maybe he is finally healthy. 9 for his last 15 with 3 HR, 3 2B, 9 RBI over his last 3 games. That will work. From this distance, he would appear to be a very streaky hitter.

Why Is Dan Johnson Still at Charlotte?
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) I don't think you can pencil in seasons like this next year from Sale, Peavy, Konerko, and AJ. The Sox have to take advantage of this year. Some guys will be better (likely Beckham, DV, John Danks, Lexi), some guys will be worse. Taking advantage of this year does not require the addition of a super-stud SP or RP, unless we get news that Danks or Crain is gone for the season. Otherwise, a few tweaks, barring injury, and we'll be good to go. Thome, not Johnson.

Why Is Dan Johnson Still at Charlotte?
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 08:54 PM) Good Luck getting a difference maker for Mitchell. You're either All In or not at this point. Again, NO, this is fundamentally wrong. What you're seeing is the plausible, partial, rebuild-on-the-fly that KW is limited to (at least in his own mind, perhaps, but backed up by the historical meathook realities of Sox fandom). And it's working. See below. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:46 AM) And we have a roster with 9 rookies on it, on a team that is 3.5 games in first place. Whether we trade Mitchell or anyone else this year, we won't be "mortgaging the future" for immediate returns. And we don't need to.

Youkilis, $5.6 million traded to White Sox
