Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays ALCS Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 14, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) Still funny to think that joesaiditstrue in one of the playoff game threads said Upton was a similar hitter than Juan Uribe. Too funny. Still funny to think that you're still not smart enough to understand the comment I made. Meanwhile, I called the Rays winning the American League and looks like I'll be right about that.

Off-Season Suggestion Thread
you guys think swisher could ever be a .280/.390/.850 40/100 guy in a sox uniform at 1B?

The Story of the 2008 White Sox
watching that video, any doubts i had of konerko's bat speed are gone, he still has a really quick swing

Sox off-season outlook
QUOTE (beck72 @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 05:18 AM) I agree with Jenks and Mark. But trading Quentin, Ramirez, Floyd or Danks would rank juat as high in my book. i have nowhere near the emotional attachment to those 4 players as i do dye/jenks/buerhle, it will come with time i'm sure
-
Sox off-season outlook
there's really only three players on this team that i would throw a hissy fit if we traded dye, jenks, and buehrle i have no logical reasoning for my love for these guys, though the 2005 world series has a lot to do with it i'm sure

Trading Swisher
You people that would rather have Swisher than Dye because "Swisher's value is low right now" lol...
-
Who will regress in 2k9?
Alexei, i see a .270-ish average for him in 2009

Thread for "Crazy Kenny" moves involving players 3+ years pa
The Mariners would never deal Ichiro, he is the face of that franchise. Hell Nintendo owns 49% of the team, I believe. Japanese-american culture is a huge part of that baseball team, and Ichiro is the brand-name of it. I'd be completely blown away if the Mariners trade him

The piece that doesn't fit
QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 04:51 AM) it won't happen. Glad Kenny Williams is the gm and not you. what won't happen?
-
The piece that doesn't fit
QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) Keep Swish. Why would you trade him at his lowest value? Uh, because I would rather have Dye than Swisher. It's a pretty easy decision to make, actually.

Off-Season Suggestion Thread
If Buerhle would've walked instead of resigning with us, he would've gotten an ACE-like contract, I have no doubt in my mind about that

Alexei a future #2 or #3 hitter?
I want Alexei batting #2 next year. I know he has power and RBI potential, but IMO he's the perfect fit for hitting 2nd. With CQ batting behind him, he's sure to see more fastballs, which he f***ing loves (and i love that he loves them)

The piece that doesn't fit
Am I alone in thinking he simply doesn't fit into this teams lineup/positions right now? Not with Jim Thome in the lineup, whom also mucks up the water. If Thome is in the lineup, we're basically forced to either: Put Swisher in CF and deal with his slightly sub-par defense (He doesn't get the best reads, and he's not very fast), and look for speed in our lineup at 3B (Unlikely), or 2B/SS ($$$/Prospects&Pieces we don't have to trade IMO) or Trade Jermaine Dye, deal with Thome's subpar hitting (compared to Jermaine) in the DH spot, and find a CF while putting CQ and Swish at the corners. You wanna know what I think? First of all, F*** trading Jermaine. If Kenny deals Dye this offseason, I'll be the most furious, pissed off motherf***er on these boards. Dealing for Swisher, now that we know Quentin is capable of surpassing everyone in our lineup offensively, totally f***ed up the design of this team, offensively and defensively, as he's nothing more than another station-to-station player (And will not get any faster as he gets older) What I *HOPE* happens this offseason: Tell Jim he doesn't fit here, and if he stays, he'll be nothing more than a left-handed bat off the bench. He will not get anywhere close to regular playing time. Keep Dye, put him at DH Swisher in left Quentin in right Konerko at 1B Alexei at either 2B or SS Casey Blake at 3B Try to sign a CF and 2B or SS (wherever Alexei isn't playing). Make sure one of the aforementioned players can leadoff, and has gap-to-gap/linedrive power with a respectable average (.290+) and has a respectable OBP (.365+) I just don't like Swisher taking up a spot with Thome staying at DH, I don't want Dye f***ing traded

It was a good season
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) I would like OC (obviously) and Thome gone. Uribe back to being the fill in Infielder. Get a decent 3B(Blake perhaps), SS, and a centerfielder. Move Swish to right, Dye at DH. Oh and I'd like to add a starter. Keep Javy in the number 5 slot. Dye at DH I agree with, but I think CQ's natural position is RF, move swish permanently to left Honestly, how bad is Alexei at CF? The only downside I can think of is we'd be lacking in two infield spots
-
Thank you, Whitesox
the only positive that comes with the season being over, is my blood pressure has GOT to come down
-
Good riddance OC
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:12 PM) He's probably why we lost. Good post. You fail to grasp the point he was making. Nice try, though. I'll help you out a little bit, he wasn't blaming the season on Orlando Cabrera.

It was a good season
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:10 PM) I actually think Swisher will have a bounce back season next year. He's young and accomplished enough that it's a reasonable expectation. Let another team take that risk, and give us someone that we need, a high on-base guy with speed that can play CF, and leadoff
-
It was a good season
I seriously hope Thome, Vazquez, Griffey, Swisher, Cabrera and Uribe are all gone this off-season Make it happen Kenny edit: forgot to add OC that's almost our entire lineup I want traded, what does that say about the white sox

Tampa Rays @ Chicago White Sox 4:05 pm CT
Hey Kenny, here's your boy recording the last out for our season
-
Tampa Rays @ Chicago White Sox 4:05 pm CT
I would much rather have Dye at DH next year than Thome

It was a good season
Hopefully we'll be able to limit the injuries next year and stay competitive with (hopefully) some new, fresh faces on the Sox Every team in our division next year could be a huge surprise
