  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 2, 2008 -> 06:16 AM) Ground ball, over the head of Jenks, Uribe, charges, throws... OUT!!! AND THE WHITE SOX HAVE WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!!! joe buck was definitely not that emphatic. i hate joe buck.
  3. i felt pretty bad for Matt tonight, that homerun he gave to Blake was 97 tailing in on the corner and blake just put a good swing on it, matt was pitching great IMO he was painting the corners with every batter he faced, that K to peralta was breathtaking, 97 on the outside corner, made peralta look silly
  4. IMO whenever a player moves from a team he's become familiar with, to a new team and a new park, there will definitely be an adjustment period in terms of both their hitting ability AND if they're a pitcher, their pitching ability I also feel that Cabrera is a perfect fit for this team, however I am unsure how he feels about signing a new deal with us. With that said, a healthy Richar+Lexi at 2B+SS would not upset me. It's just that OC finally looks like he fits in well with the other players, good chemistry with that said, I feel Swisher's worst days are behind him (sub .240 BA, low SLG/HR totals), I think he's getting used to hitting in the cell, as early on he wasn't letting that swing go and now he's just crushing the ball, taking hard swings at straight fastballs, i think he'll have a nice career in a sox uniform
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 01:18 AM) Tigers are scary. Twins are amazing. I think Detroit is the team to beat and will probably win the division. Hope I'm wrong. why, because they're on a hot streak? i understand hunches, but the things you would be basing your hunch on are a bit premature. the tigers have been hot over the past month, but that pitching staff will not carry them to the playoffs, at least ours has many believing it can given their peformance thus far all i'm saying is don't get carried away with a team on a hotstreak, at least wait until august to make predictions on how you think the teams will end up in divisional rankings
  6. couple days ago i heard it was 46% of runs scored are from the longball, so we're scoring ~the same amount of runs (slightly, anyway) via singles/doubles (loltriples) as we are with homeruns
  7. watching the replay on espn of the sox/cubs game last night, i didnt realize what the puff piece was about that gammons was talking about right before being interrupted by CQ's HR it was about josh hamilton, am i the only one who sees the irony in that lol CQ: *Hits a blast* "STFU about Hamilton."
  8. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) It's so funny that you say this. I mean, for years -- seriously, years -- I've watched that piece of garbage Aramis Ramirez make stacks of money because pitchers don't pitch him on the inner half. I seriously wonder what these advance scouts do at the park. he wasn't 0-for tonight because we pitched him inside, it was more because Mark kept Aramis honest by not pitching to the same part of the plate (outside) with the same velocity (fastball) like we did at wrigley. mark was going in/out/in/in/out/out while changing speeds on his pitches, and not allowing aramis to focus on one area of the plate, that's how you get any hitter out. mark was absolutely dominant tonight
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 08:46 PM) In Lou's defense...that was BS he got tossed. Complete bush league IMO......... No.
