  1. Good debut for Mitchell. Hopefully the steals will come around.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 11, 2010 -> 02:35 PM) It seems like every year this is possible, and then there is one big weekend of craziness that kills it all. Exactly. I don't think you can't expect it to happen ever. So many of these undefeateds look like frauds and will end up as afterthoughts.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 10, 2010 -> 08:44 PM) Worst possible scenario for an upset. #1 ranking going into Madison at night. I'm not sure being 1 or 2 really matters. The crowd was going to be hyped regardless.
  4. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 9, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) Close first quarter in the Michigan/Michigan st. game.... Denard has missed 2 TD's through the air though already. The Michigan D-Line is definitely kicking some major ass. Yeah for all the talk on here you would think Michigan would never be able to shutout a top 20 team for a quarter.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 07:25 PM) True, but they won't have guarantee games against Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Colorado and Missouri anymore. Instead, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Northwestern. Hey! We split the last 8 games with the Huskers! QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 9, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) Illinois will be a Top-25 team next season. Book it, especially if Martez, Luiget and Leshoure come back. Yikes. You could see from week one that this was a better team than the expectations (I was having flashbacks to 2007 with the Mizzou game, felt bad because it was close but maybe Illinois was solid), BUT that's still a stretch. Long way to go for that and Zook seems to only succeed with no expectations.
  6. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 12:51 PM) With the move to the Big Ten...I think sustainability is no-longer going to be a question. It opens up new recruiting locales and I think, even though they'll be new to the Big Ten, they will play heavily on the traditions of it, as well as NU's own traditions. They may lose a bit of a foothold in Texas, but I'm not sure how much talent they get from there anyway. That may be, but at any school sustainability is a question until they prove otherwise. This is still a new coaching staff. Is Nebraska merely a perennial top 25 with occasional top 10 teams or are they a perennial top 10? This is, after all, the first time this coaching staff has been in the top 10 and that's still largely based on hype.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 07:49 PM) Nebraska is like Michigan but with good defense. Tough add to the conference. Sustainability is certainly a question with Nebraska. This time a year ago they were just cracking the rankings I believe. Martinez had 5 passes in the first half. That's insane. You complain about Michigan being one-dimensional, but that is video game s***. I'm not sure they can pull that off against tough teams. Hard not to be impressed though. I thought K State being at home would make it competitive. And kev, ND is better than 2-3, but they deserve the record whether or not it lines up with their quality. I still think they're a 7-5 type team. Kelly is a great hire if the fan base can wait for him to develop the team.
  8. QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 01:22 AM) You didn't seem to think Alabama was clearly better then Texas after the National Championship last year, and by your logic here you should have. You can go take a look in last years NCAAF thread if you don't believe me. In a 4 point game no matter where its played its hard to say that a team is clearly better then a team even without injuries. All I'm saying is Notre Dame played close with Michigan and MSU both of whom are ranked, beat BC and Purdue, and got destroyed by a great Stanford team. Michigan beat a decent to good UCONN team 3 other cookies and played close with Notre Dame who didn't have their starting QB for an entire half. So if you think Michigan is clearly better then ND that's crazy. Michigan and ND are both around the same level probably somewhere between 20-30th teams in the nation. Michigan might be better but they're not this beast team thats going to roll through the big ten and end up in the BCS like everyone seems to be acting. You need to stop 1 player to beat Michigan, great teams have more then one weapon. Notre Dame would be 5-0 or 4-1 if they played Michigan's current schedule so theres no way you can prove that Michigan is "clearly" better. It's a few weeks old now. Let it go. ND is 2-3 and deserves to be. There were no bad calls or ripoffs. They just lost close games. Also, their schedule so far certainly is not the toughest in the country to date. Alabama has played 4 BCS teams, @ Arkansas is harder than any game ND has played and they played Florida as well. It's been a tough opening, but it evens out. People hate ND because of their fans and you aren't helping that by complaining that they should have beat Michigan a few weeks and two more losses later. Every team has a game they should have won. Also, having that ND BC garbage on instead of Stanford Oregon makes me want ND's program wiped off of college football. They are a mediocre program getting top tier attention still and that's bulls***. ND isn't special anymore.
  9. QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) How is Michigan a better squad? Ya they beat ND by 4, but ND had Nate Montana and Rees playing for a half and outscored Michigan 24-7 when their starter was in. So I still have yet to see any evidence to where they are definitely better then ND. Also how is ND a fraud if no one in the country think they're good. A fraud is a team with a good record that is bad, see 2010 Bears. That's pretty weak. ND lost at home, injuries or not, that should be good enough to say which team is clearly better. Get over it.
  10. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) the first thing i was reminded of when playing as MJ in this game, was back in the day on the old school NBA live games when i would create MJ on the bulls and give him max attributes i would of never imagined back in 96' that MJ would be in the game for real in the year 2010 Yeah, that was better than sticking with Roster Player or whatever they called him. Jordan means I'll probably buy this once I get tired of FIFA. As a minor complaint, does anyone else think it doesn't really look like Jordan?
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 08:00 AM) And make the season even longer? No way. Only way its even worth considering is if they cut down the regular season by a week or two to make up the time. We're already looking at playing baseball in Minnesota in mid-October or even later, and then again in late March, which is insane. Yeah, if people don't want to add to the playoffs at least shrink the regular season. 162 games is freaking absurd. Go back to 144 and add a wild card playoff. It will never happen, but the monotony of the regular season is awful. The last 2 weeks of the season are meaningless for even good teams. It's not like the playoff races go away in the end of the year. Look at the Sox attendance in late September. There has to be an optimum number where you can cut off a few games to have a few extra teams still in the race and still increase revenue.
  12. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 2, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) wait, what the USC just called back to back timeouts.. I thought you couldn't do that? Pro only I believe. It happens all the time in college.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 2, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) If Pryor "should" be a run-first QB in an option system then he would be racking up running yards left and right. He chose to play in a pro-style offense where he would be more of a pocket passer. There's a reason he has half the number of carries Robinson has and more throwing attempts, yards and throwing TD's. I'll refrain from arguing with you because you won't listen, but I find it funny how you refer to it as throwing rather than passing.
  14. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 2, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) Indiana fans, I'm guessing student section, cheers when Robinson goes down. Almost as classless as those annoying spinners they have in their basketball student section.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) At least we got 7 on them. When I was a sophomore they hung a 59-0 shutout on us. This game is going to have a lot of points.
  16. I hate it when announcers call a competitive game with a close finish great just because of the finish. Northwestern-Minnesota was a terribly played game with loads of penalties and turnovers from NU. I wish announcers would comment on poor play instead of just getting excited over a good finish.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 2, 2010 -> 01:43 PM) There was definitely a push on that play if you go back and watch the replay. LOL sure. Fason did a wrap around. If that's basketball it's an offensive foul for hooking the defender. That's a good play, but he spun to get away from him. I looked at the replay. It was a bad call.
  18. Illinois caught a major break on that Fason catch. He was out of bounds on his own. No push.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) You can have like one player who isn't at AA or above in the AFL, can't you? I think two.
  20. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) where is thompson? mitchell, escobar and phegley are all double A's right Thompson is too raw for the AFL this year. Mitchell hasn't played at AA so I'm not sure of his classification for the AFL.
  21. Hard not to have doubts on Miguel at this point. The scouting reports are starting to lag a bit too.
  22. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 10:18 AM) Who was the last 1st RD pick we had that was worse than McCulloch? Royce Ring? Ring made the Majors so keep going.
  23. No one mentioned Texas getting slaughtered by a 1-2 UCLA in Austin? The polls proved they are moronic by keeping Texas ranked (top 20 still in the coaches poll).
  24. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 25, 2010 -> 09:47 AM) Big Ten/MAC Football Challenege! Over/under total wins for the MAC 0.5 Toledo making the over look good.
