  1. Knights @ Louisville Torres Chattanooga @ Barons Dash PPD due to flooded playing surface Intimidators @ Hickory Collop Great Falls @ Helena Holmberg Bristol @ Greenville Heidenreich
  2. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 09:36 AM) Reed has played several games at 1B for Charlotte so far. I find that interesting. He had played first with the Mets. It's not a new position for him.
  3. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) I was thinking Jason hacked into shipps account and made alittle revenge penis thread. Yeah, hard not to think that.
  4. Knights @ Louisville Hynick Chattanooga @ Barons Edwards Kinston @ Dash Early game, Dash won 8-5. Serafin started. Kannapolis and Great Falls off Danville @ Bristol Doubleheader for Bristol making up yesterday's suspended game. Bristol game 2 Casey
  5. Guys like Saladino and Blanke had the college pedigree that playing like this in the low minors shouldn't be a surprise. I'm more impressed with Andy Wilkins. His power has translated to wood bats so far, good sign.
  6. I threw something together on FutureSox with some info on who's left. Link In my research I found a post on Rivals college baseball message board from a guy claiming he has sources telling him Grimes is going to school. Link
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 10:22 PM) He also hit .320 in June and .313 in May. He's 6th in AVG and 3rd in the AL in RBI. People forget he's only 25. The difference was he wasn't hitting for power then. Considering he doesn't draw walks that puts a lot of pressure on his ability to hit for contact and power. He can hit .300 and actually not be that valuable as a corner outfielder.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 08:55 PM) Delmon Young has been sensational for them this year. I'm sure they'd rather have Garza and a healthy Morneau though...and 1st place. He's on fire in July, but before that he was far from sensational. I'm not sold on Delmon hitting .320 for a full season or ever again. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) The cycle does more for me than a no-hitter this year. The cycle should never do anything for you. It's a stupid accomplishment. I'd rather have a guy hit 2 HR with 4 hits than a triple and a HR. A cycle is 'nifty' not all that great.
  9. I wonder if the Twins are regretting Garza for Delmon. I'm sure glad we don't have to face Garza multiple times a year. Delmon still has a ways to go before he matches Garza's value.
  10. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Terry Doyle is another that could be argued. Yes he's 24 in high A ball, but he was 22 years old when drafted and he's putting up great numbers this year. I could see him ending up in AA this year at 24 years old. Doyle's numbers in Winston-Salem are decent, but not great considering his age. 64 K, 23 BB in 82.2 IP. I doubt he would get moved to AA this year considering the Dash are in the playoffs and he hasn't quite dominated. With Hudson and Viciedo likely to graduate off the top 25 and a possible trade looming, Doyle is a likely candidate for the postseason list. The Sox have a few off the radar names that are performing. Martinez is healthy, Silverio is having a strong second half, Rienzo looks like he could be a top 15/20 guy in the postseason list.
  11. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jul 26, 2010 -> 08:31 PM) That must be the most uninteresting slate of pitchers, ever. Ha, good point. There's too much of that in the system. Sale IP, R, 3 K, 2 BB, 2 H (HR). 16 strikes, 19 balls
  12. Knights @ Indy Marquez Barons @ West Tenn Already lost 9-4, Lowe started. Kinston @ Dash Axelrod Asheville @ Intimidators Hopps Idaho Falls @ Voyagers Burnside Danville @ BriSox Young
  13. QUOTE (CSF @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) Buch with 1 hit through 7 innings. No walks, 5 K's. Kanny ended up facing 27 batters. Almost perfect game. Great stuff. Leesman with a surprisingly good start too.
  14. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 01:10 AM) I like Gilmore alittle more than some.. but I think people are gonna be even more disappointed if/when he moves up to that Barons ballpark with his under-developing (so far) power, unless he still wants to continue to hit .330+. Given he's not actually a power hitter, the big park will help with his BABIP, not that it needs any.
  15. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 24, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) Jeremy Reed is 3/3 so far. AVG to .303. Woo! lol. Maybe he can make his long awaited White Sox debut. That would certainly be strange. Andre Rienzo 6 IP, 0 R, 10 K, 0 BB, 2 H. WOW. Shades of DLS there.
  16. Juan Silverio has been doing well since returning to Kannapolis. Average around .300, OPS above .800. Small sample, but either a switch went off in his head or they fixed something in his swing. Huge turnaround.
  17. Knights @ Indy Hynick Barons @ West Tenn Shirek Potomac @ Dash Serafin I's @ Greenville Collop Pulaski @ BriSox Casey
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2010 -> 02:36 AM) Hmm, I thought I put that I would have had it: Hudson, Sale, Dayan, Flowers, Mitchell. I thought that Flowers would be voted higher (I like Viciedo far more, really don't like Flowers) because he always seemed to get a lot of love for being power catcher. We have a couple big Viciedo fans among the voters, myself included. It's really hard to argue Flowers ahead of Viciedo right now.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) I didn't expect Dayan to be #2, I thought he'd be #4 and Flowers would be 3. I would have had it like it is (top 5 wise), but I didn't expect it to be that way. Ha I have to ask why after a statement like that. Viciedo is younger than Flowers by a couple years and has greatly outperformed him this year. That trumps the value of a catcher.
  20. Dash @ Kinston Axelrod started, Dash lost 5-1
  21. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 10:29 PM) That's the thing, I don't hear much about what he does behind the plate. I have seen him play the position of catcher as well as 1st base ..to me he handles himself A LOT better at first base, he's great there. I don't even know why they would try to move him from that position. Yeah, I was surprised myself. Usually it's a situation where the Sox go to Black or visa versa and say you can get to the Majors quicker by playing catcher. He was in Kannapolis this time a year ago so it's interesting to see him in Bristol a year later. It has to be about the defense.
  22. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) umm....yeahhhh...sooo, Dan Black hit 3 for 3 today with 2 HR's ..Congrats to him!! He already proved he can hit at this level. They must just be working on his defense. He looks like he could be a pretty good hitter if he can play catcher respectably well.
  23. Leighton Pangilinan was the only Sox minor leaguer I saw on the list.
  24. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) Sale just got his 1st taste of failure. Gave up a 2-run HR with 2 outs to Lousiville. He faced 4 batters. Gave up a HR, and struck out Drew Sutton and Yonder Alonso. 2 2/3 IP, 6 K, 1 BB in AAA He had given up runs in high-A ball. When I read first taste of failure, I thought it was much worse.
  25. Louisville @ Knights Torres Jacksonville @ Barons Leesman Dash @ Kinston Sauer Voyagers @ Idaho Falls Royse Elizabethton @ BriSox Long
