  1. This thread is awesome. I say if she wants it cut, she's kinda weird. It's not like you chose to not get cut. There's life advice I thought I'd never give.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jan 1, 2009 -> 10:29 PM) The same reason he had the edge over Quentin last ST as well. He has a great 40 yard dash time. Too bad outside of Owen's speed, he has no other benefit to a team. That's what I thought. He's awful. He performed the worst between him, Brian and Wise last season. He should barely have consideration to make the team.
  3. Why does Jerry Owens have the edge over Brian?
  4. The thing with Maclin is that he was Hester last year. This year he has become a legit stud college WR. I'm not sure if that will translate to the NFL yet or not. One thing you gotta like is the amount of improvement he has made in a year.
  5. I'm not so sure Mizzou actually played like crap. I think that's just how good/bad of a team they are. When you say a team plays like crap for about half of their games, I'd say that's just the way they play. Northwestern outplayed them. I wanted Northwestern to win, but I was nearly heartbroken that Jeff Wolfert could potentially have been the goat for Mizzou. That guy had been automatic throughout his career. Also, it's kinda funny how people sometimes make the argument that a playoff system would make bowl games irrelevant. This thread has shown that the interest in 2nd and 3rd tier bowl games is minimal anyway.

    i am drunk

Flashing lights. Lights. She don't believe in shootin' stars, but she believes in shoes and cars. Also, Dabo Swinney somehow made it into the vernacular tonight. One of my friends made 10 cups in a row tonight in beer pong. He made his first two shots. We play NBA Jam rules, so if you make 3 in a row you are on fire and shoot until you miss. He decided to make all 10 and we lost 3 rounds into the game. Sickest thing I've ever seen in that game.
  7. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Dec 24, 2008 -> 12:02 PM) Well this whole thing is speculation to begin with. If Dye is dealt in a 3-way type deal involving LA and Cincy- Sox get Figgins and Bailey- Angels get Votto- Reds get Dye. So the Reds give up Bailey and Votto for Dye. That's gonna take more prospects than the Angels and Sox have to make that happen. Votto isn't going anywhere for prospects.
  8. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) Looks like Mizzou is not as good as you thought. Muck Fizzou. I'm pretty sure I said they didn't deserve to be ranked and if you asked I would have said they aren't any different than the last couple years.
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 07:38 PM) Much like I told Dan, I'm going to take Greg McDermott deep into the woods and leave him someplace where he cannot keep hurting our basketball program. Losing at home to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. Ugh. Your other line was way better. "the 5-8 jackrabbits. which is also, ironically, their average height"
  10. QUOTE (Felix @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 07:35 AM) Check your facts. They played them at a neutral site in Arizona, which certainly isn't home for the Gophers. I don't think the Gophers should be ranked any higher than they are, but there's something to be said for an undefeated team beating a top 10 team on a neutral court that deserves a ranking. Ok, but still Louisville lost to Western Kentucky and the Cardinals' only legit win so far is Ole Miss. They're not a top 10 team.
  11. QUOTE (Felix @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 07:53 PM) Of course that's weirder, the Gophers should be ranked so it isn't weird that they are While I agree Missouri shouldn't be ranked, Minnesota hasn't really proven anything more. They beat an overrated Louisville team at home, Missouri beat an overrated USC team on a neutral floor. The only difference is that Mizzou lost to Xavier. The rankings suck right now anyway. Wake Forest is #6 on the grounds that they are 11-0 on the 196th best schedule in the country.
  12. QUOTE (Felix @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) Gophers are #23 in the coaches poll.. woo! Even weirder: Missouri basketball is ranked in one poll.
  13. Also, who would she be telling 'wish you were here' to if it was a class trip?
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 08:08 AM) Pitt escaped last year with only a 2 point victory there IIRC. 2 years ago they won by 3 in Buffalo.
  15. QUOTE (TheBlackSox8 @ Dec 3, 2008 -> 11:51 PM) false, i wish i was TCQ the person below me has never been to a sox game. False The person below me has never been to a stadium other than Comiskey (new or old).
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 07:24 PM) I think Sconsin hangs on here. I'm thinking the Big Ten gets 5. Hey sweet. The shame is that the Big Ten could/should have won. Either way, it shows that the Big Ten is a lot deeper than it has been and the ACC isn't.
  17. Baha, true. (That was to the mangina one, but this is also true.) The person below me watched Casino on AMC Tuesday. (I'm looking at you, Hizzle.)
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 08:30 PM) I have a big problem with the BCS being the tiebreaker because it's based on the polls and computers, which both take out of conference results/opponents into account obviously as they are included in the full body of work, and that has NOTHING to do with a conference season or who should be a conference champion. I'm sick of hearing this b****ing about the BCS tiebreaker. Pick a better one or shut up. They all suck at this point.
  19. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 07:14 PM) The BCS isn't meant to break ties in conferences before all games have been played, it's meant to get #1 and #2 together. Blaming the BCS is ignorant. I'm not blaming the BCS. The BCS got it right. Oklahoma has the best resume of the 3 and they are in the lead spot for the national title game. I'm just saying the tie was so deadlocked that there really is no way to determine that tie without it being something stupid/insignificant. If this tie happened in the ACC or SEC it would also go to the BCS. There simply is no 'good' way to break this tie off the field. Big 12 teams playing for a spot in the national title game are 4-5 in the Big 12 title game.
  20. I think Sconsin hangs on here. I'm thinking the Big Ten gets 5. Sick Tyus Edny-esque finish. 1-0 Big Ten.
  21. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) People upset with the Okla-Texas result need to be mad at the Big 12, not the BCS. It's the 5th tiebreaker. 5th. Link Find me a better way to determine this tie. Point differential? Yeck. Also, funny thing that I'm hoping happens. Mizzou beats OU in the Big 12 game somehow. Argue how Texas goes in ahead of Tech. It would happen, but that's a pathetic argument to make.
  22. False. The person below me is has been divorced.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 29, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) Chris Wright had a ridiculous dunk over Maurice Acker at the Sears Centre tonight. Acker is 5'8" though, and maybe not even that tall.
