  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 3, 2007 -> 01:06 AM) You do have Jack In the Box, which is a HUGE plus in my opinion. So I've heard, they aren't anywhere NEAR Columbia. I've already planned the stop for the ride home though.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 3, 2007 -> 07:55 PM) Both players want to do it again next year, should be a fun thing they could do annually between the 2 best players in tennis. Or maybe the best clay courter and best grass courter (which would have to be the Wimbledon champ).
  4. Haeger 4 IP, 3 R (2 ER), 8 BB (wow) Charlotte's game 1 box score BA already 0-1 in game 2. Russell starting for the Barons tonight. McCulloch 2.1 IP, 11 R (5 ER)- his poor year continues. Carter with his 4th HR and Edwards went 6 strong for Kanny.
  5. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 3, 2007 -> 01:01 AM) I'm not the douchetard that decided to go to college in Missouri. We've been over this. Missouri>Iowa. It's not even really debatable. I know we have St. Louis, but KC isn't bad lol.
  6. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 2, 2007 -> 05:49 PM) Iowa sucks. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 2, 2007 -> 05:49 PM) Iowa sucks. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 2, 2007 -> 05:49 PM) Iowa sucks. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 2, 2007 -> 05:49 PM) Iowa sucks.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 2, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) I s*** you not, I'm planting apple trees Saturday. We already know you are from Iowa, stop being so Ioway.
  8. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ May 2, 2007 -> 05:19 PM) If there was a large enough market for a smoke-free bar, they'd exist without laws requiring them. Without the government enforcement no bar would do that because they are losing business and not enough people would go to a bar just because it was smoke free anyway.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 2, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) Presumably, they'd alternate sides throughout the match, at least if I was designing the game they would Yeah I know, my statement didn't imply that but it was a general statement. Whoever is on the clay side should have a huge advantage and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Is it even going to be on tv?
  10. It's really not moronic. It sounds very cool. The only thing is whoever is on the clay side SHOULD have a huge advantage because the balls they hit will be coming at their opponent faster while the shots they will be receiving will be coming at them slower.
  11. Liverpool and Chelsea in extra time after the Reds won the 2nd leg 1-0. And apparently there is a dumb, nonsensical UEFA rule that if they both score in extra time Chelsea goes through on away goals. Well yeah, they scored more away because they had more time.
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ May 1, 2007 -> 11:20 AM) I think the lyrics are hilarious, and almost everyone who ever went to college participated in stuff like this or joked like that... Exactly, including Haugh. It's just bad journalism on his part to ignore that obvious fact and not admit he himself had joked about similar things. Like was said above, it's issue of stupidity that he could get caught instead of a character issue.
  13. David Haugh never went to college You can read about this stuck up prick b**** about it. Seriously, has he never been in a college dorm?
  14. Carter is hitting .275 while splitting time between 1B and DH. He had been hitting 4th in the lineup until the I's moved Brandon Allen down in the order, since the 26th he has been hitting in the 3 hole. In 91 at bats he has 7 doubles, 3 HR, and 13 RBI. He has 7 walks and 19 strikeouts. He has a .333obp, and a .451slg making for a mediocre .784 OPS.
  15. If you haven't heard of him, which you probably haven't, Fautino (I'm gonna have to come up with a nickname for him) is basically the s***. Born: 2/15/86 (21 years old) Semana, Dominican Republic Ht: 6'1" Wt: 210 (Kanny lists him at 6'2" 190 pounds, interesting) B/T: R/R Now for the fun part: his stats. 2006 DSL Sox: 48.1 IP, 1.86 ERA (20 R, 10 ER), 61 K, 10 BB, 44 hits, 0 HR in 10 appearances (9 starts) 2007 Kanny: 20.2 IP, 0.87 ERA (2 R), 21 K, 13 BB, 7 hits, 0 HR in 5 appearances (3 starts) Minor League Baseball Player Page Kannapolis Player Page De Los Santos was traded on January 3rd, 2008 along with Gio Gonzalez and Ryan Sweeney to Oakland for Nick Swisher.
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 11:02 PM) Due to unforseen circumstances, our release has been delayed. Jason has assured me that we will resume the list in the next few days, so hold on tight. HAHAAHHAHAHAHHAHA HAAHHAAHHAHHHA AHAHAHAHAHAH So you mean it's not coming out like I said as soon as we had a delay on 20-16? Yeah...
  17. We missed a couple days due to me being sick and no one picking up the slack (I'm looking at you Heads telling me what to do and then not doing it yourself). Just 3 games tonight because Charlotte was off. Huntsville 6 @ Birmingham 4 Getz 3-4 (bringing him back up to .291) Collaro 1-4, 2B (.290) Nanita 3-4, 2-run HR (.313) Wing 3 IP, 3 R (first runs he's given up all year in 15.1 IP) Winston-Salem 2 @ Potomac 3 Rodriguez 5 IP, 3 R Augusta 4 @ Kannapolis 3 Shelby 3-4, 2B, R Allen 2-4, 2B, 3B, 2 K Carter 1-4, 2B, RBI De Los Santos 5 IP, 0 R, 5 K, 1 BB, 2 hits (that's it, he's my AAP)
  18. QUOTE(SABR Sox @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 12:22 AM) Lincecum should have started the season as the #5. Yeah, that's a realistic statement. Let's have a guy in his first full season, who hadn't yet pitched above A ball, start in the Majors. Hindsight is 20/20. As a sidenote, I remember he was a top 3 talent, but injury concerns (durability) and the fact that a lot of scouts projected him as a closer dropped him to 10.
  19. Yeah he didn't sound like that when we were originally doing it. I also sound like a freaking lineman.
  20. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 01:11 AM) Garland was the pitcher the Astros were interested in IIRC. If the Sox hadn't traded Garcia, they could have moved Garland instead. I think Garland is a decent pitcher (although his lack of velocity this year is troubling), but Hirsh looks like he might be very good.... Trading Garland for Hirsh doesn't improve the team as long as Garcia is still in the rotation. It doubtfully improves the team anyway.
  21. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 01:17 AM) Well, if we were to trade Gio, it better be for some pretty sick pitching. Yeah and Jim Thome is a pretty sick power bat. Kenny isn't stupid people.
  22. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 01:01 AM) I'll be extremely pissed if that were to happen. It depends on who we get. I'd do the Jim Thome trade over and over and over again.
  23. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:39 AM) The question is, could Williams have gotten Taveras and Hirsh (or maybe just Hirsh) for Garcia or Garland instead? If you think the answer is yes, this deal looks quite a bit worse. Why would you want to trade Garland?
  24. Leave me off the Gio bandwagon still. He is repeating AA after all. Granted he is still only 21 and these numbers are silly, but I'm not gonna go calling him an ace.
  25. Nice win and the White Sox have clinched a winning April with a BRUTAL schedule to start. Nice job guys! I said going into the season that I'd be happy with any sort of winning record in April. Now take the series tomorrow.
