QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:08 AM) That's funny, because – and I know I'm going to hell for saying this – looking at the Royals fans in the stands the last two games I think they all look like the rode the short bust to the park. I went to the game last year during the opening week when Sweeney hit a late go ahead HR. KC fans were booing Sweeney and a couple fans right behind us were talking mad s***. I was thinking, 'he's your best hitter, how can you boo him?'. He went yard for what ended up being the game winning HR. The fans that were heckling him had left, I was pissed.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:57 PM) Hopefully the Sox can battle back from this deficit. It worked!!!

What was the close one you guys were talking about?

QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:44 PM) C'mon Brian, shut some people up for a bit. I should have shut myself up. As soon as I typed that I was thinking, 'he's gonna GIDP'.

QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:40 PM) soria has been pretty good, rule V guy. Yeah, he's the only guy I'd respect right now. His K numbers prove that he isn't just getting lucky outs.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:38 PM) Go go KC bullpen. See, our pen could be worse. Yeah, their pen continues to get worse. I was worried because Duckworth was a starter until this outing and had done well. Crede says f*** that!

Southside Report: Run Support, Pitching, and Firey Debate

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) I love hearing your guys feedback. Dan is going to be our guest on this weeks show so you can expect some good minor league discussion. I'm also working on getting a blogger in for a segment. I'm pretty excited for it. Don't worry guys, we won't waste a whole show debating on Jack Egbert. Mainly because Heads isn't going to be on the show. I might try to go without mentioning him even just out of spite. -
Thornton just isn't good right now, stop complaining about the entire bullpen people.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:48 PM) I thought about a Saunders-for-Dye trade just a couple of nights ago. We don't need Saunders, but he's a guy that would appeal to the D-Rays seeing that he's had some success at the big league level. Package him with some of our prospects (Broadway, Logan, McCollough) and see if we can get a deal done. How does that improve our team? Dye>Baldelli

I guess I should have been more specific. BMac put up similar numbers for the Barons and look where he is.

QUOTE(rafacosta @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 06:46 PM) Haha! What a block by Zo...let's go heat! hehe! I'll so ban you for the duration of the game if I have to.

Yeah, it should rain. They might get a shortened game in, but we will see.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:23 AM) Look at Egbert's numbers this year and try not to get encouraged.... 2-1, 1.80 25 IP, 13 H, 5 R, 0 HR, 4 BB, 26 K It's AA and BMac.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 07:21 AM) Casey Weathers is a guy projected to go right near our pick in the draft. I'm not sure I'd like to spend the first pick on a closer, but this guy has the stuff the contribute late in major league games right now. Even though hes not the type of pitcher the sox have targeted in recent drafts, hes exactly the guy they targeted this offseason. Upper 90s heat, nasty slider. He was originally an OF, then was converted to a starter, and is now a reliever and learned how to harness his gas. I liken him to Aardsma with a better fastball No more relievers in the first 5 rounds please.

If the Yankees lose to Kazmir tonight they will be in last place.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) I like LaPorta, but I would love to see Max Scherzer fall to us(if he goes back into the draft). There is a 0% chance we draft him and it has nothing to do with Boras. His signability is actually good this year if he goes back into the draft. He signed with Forth Worth of an independent league like Hochevar did a year ago. If he proves he is healthy he could be the 2nd pitcher taken after Price. If he isn't healthy he won't be taken in the 1st round or anywhere near it.
-
He'll have 2300+ hits, 500+ HR, 1600+ RBI, 1600+ BB, and maybe 1500+ R by then end of the year if he stays healthy. I don't care if that's been posted before, it needs to be mentioned.

Royals bullpen tonight: 2 IP, 4 ER, 0 K, 3 BB, 4 hits (5 different pitchers).
-
QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) Make that 2/2 after a no doubter. I facing the Royals bullpen. I missed Musser coming in and walking Anderson. Musser is a new one to me. Braun's 2 walks in .1 IP makes it 4/4. The White Sox have rocked every Royals reliever.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Seriously though, Masset/Sisco/Aaaaaaaardsma/Thornton/MMacs arms are all gonna fall off by September. Yeah yeah, I know its the right move, but our 'pen has some serious appearances already, 17 games into the season. Add in Jenks and you have what I believe is 4 relievers with previous history of arm problems. I think Masset and Aardsma are the only clean ones, but I could be wrong.

Holy s*** we got Sweeney out in a close and late situation.
