QUOTE(ViperPilot @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 12:00 AM) About the same amount of CWS fans last year.....dude, get real with your posts.....Tigers not a real team? You need to go post on the thread with the Twins and BoSox because they're the ones you have to worry about right now......No real team wins from behind?! How many late inning, come from behind victories did you have earlier this year?! Learn to control your anger and frustration......you don't type coherently when you don't....... Oh puhlease. My real team statement wasn't an insult. It's hard to deny that they've been surreal this year. I'm still worrying about the Tigers because 8 games isn't as massive as it sounds. The Tigers just need a bad 2 week stretch and it's close. The Tigers have come from behind, in the 9th no less, a ton of times. Talk as much crap as you want, I don't care. The White Sox got a World Series, I didn't expect to win it this year. I just wanted a playoff spot. The Tigers are better than best case scenario right now, they are an anomaly in just about every way. Every single one of their rookies has been amazing. The difference from what this team should have been (according to expectations) and what they are is their rookies. Verlander, Minor, Zumaya, and Granderson are all pitching like they are in their primes. That is absolutely unheard of.

Pudge please go do some more steroids. Are the Tigers still claiming to be a real team? No real team wins from behind at will. The question is how many Tiger fans had to sell their souls for this season to happen?
-
Thames grounded out after an 11 pitch at bat. That's a major upset. I still think it's 50/50 the Tigers win this game.

The only players from this draft considered were McCulloch and Omogrosso. Long might have made it had he put up numbers similar to Omogrosso's right now in Kanny. Guys like Shelby (after his recent hot streak) and Edwards have a shot to make it when we do 25 guys to start next season. The problem is that most of us making the list find it hard to give guys credit before they get out of rookie ball. Carter was the only rookie ball guy to make it and he was on the preseason list anyway.

Charlotte lost 8-0. Rogo 2-4. Garza 7 IP, 0 R, 11 K, 1 BB, 4 hits. Tracey 7 IP, 0 R, 4 K, 4 BB, 4 hits. Good duel until Montero went Hiroshima out of the pen (1.1 IP, 7 R). Box Score Birmingham lost 15-2. Amador 3-3 with 2 doubles. Schnurstein 2-4 with HR #8. Russell POUNDED: 3.1 IP, 11 R, 10 hits, 5 K, 2 walks. Box Score Winston-Salem won 3-1. Cook 2-4. McCulloch 7 IP, 0 R, 4 K, 3 BB, 3 hits. Box Score Kanny led 5-2 in the bottom of the 4th before rain came and suspended the game. Brandon Allen hit a 3 run HR, his 10th of the year. Box Score Great Falls lost 10-6. Shelby 2-4 with 2 HR (5). Grace 2-3 with his 4th HR. Box Score Bristol lost 3-1. Edwards 6 IP, 2 R, 2 K, 3 BB, 6 hits. Box Score

That's a pretty good list. We had 16 of those guys.

Do you think Josh Fields will be in a White Sox uniform next season or is he likely to be traded in the offseason? Of the lower level minor leaguers, who in the system sticks out to you?

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) I can't even think of or find 20 prospects in our system that I would want to rank. I tried to make a list, but I had too many 23 year olds in A ball on my list, so I gave up. Pretty scary how raw and thin our talent level is right now. That's exactly the problem. It's a choice between high talent/low performance and limited talent/higher performance.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:18 AM) Bah KU beat both these teams last year....were going to the big 12 championships. Win a game on the road and talk.
-
Not to be an ass, but do we really need White Sox loser threads? Seems kinda depressing and who wants to talk about a loss?

Charlotte won 13-1. Fields 4-6 with 2 HR (16). Sweeney 3-5 with a HR (9). Stewart 4-5. Gonzalez 2-5. Redding 6 shutout innings. Interesting side note, Joel Guzman played LF for the Bulls in his debut for them.Box Score Barons rallied to score 3 in the bottom of the 9th to win 6-5. 2 hits for Getz, Lopez, Schnurstein, and Molina. Box Score Winston-Salem won 6-0. Haggerty and Smith with 2 hits each. Lucy with HR #6. Egbert 7 IP, 6 K, 0 BB, 5 hits. Box Score Kanny won 6-3. Mike Spidale is playing for Lakewood, he's having a good year but is playing in Low A. That's a shame. Box Score Great Falls rallied with 6 in the top of the 9th to tie it at 12 but gave up one in the bottom half to lose 13-12, ouch. Carter 3-5 with HR #12 and 5 RBI. Lawrence 3-5. Madsen, Gilbert, Marrero (HR #3), and Shelby (HR #2) each with 2 hits. Box Score

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) Iowa State's got a shot. I was thinking the same thing about Mizzou. The game in Columbia looks very winnable now.

From the looks of it, our list is going to surprise a few. Basically, it doesn't matter after the top 3. Most of the guys from 11-30 are pretty interchangable.
-
Yeah, and after a rather easy decision we cut the list to 20 for the sake of laziness (not having to write 5 more) and those guys suck anyway.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) Patrick Vieira is leaving Juventus for Inter Milan and Ashley Cole has told Arsenal he will never play for them again. Yeah, that surprised me a bit, both of them. Juve appealed again, geez, just give it up.

Lumsden was traded along with Daniel Cortes to the Royals for Mike MacDougal on July 24th.

Anybody else listen to that and never think of laughing? -
Good outing for Richard, he's been very rocky. Long with 5 more runs in an inning of relief. He just can't get pro hitters out, hopefully it's a dead arm period and not just another wasted college relief pick. Carter with HR 11 making up for the error.

Kind of off topic. I recently started playing this online soccer management game. It's not trying to immitate real life, the players are all fictional and there are weird features to it. Basically, it is its own game with soccer as the general appearance of the game (the transfer system is weird, etc.). Anyway, there is an option to create a private league for free (joining is also free). I was thinking if we could get enough interest maybe we could set one up for Soxtalk. Check the site out HERE and tell me if you're interested or not.

If I'm the Cubs I'd rather have Izturis than a prospect anyway. They weren't going to get a major league ready prospect or anyone of Billingsley's caliber anyway.
-
I'm surprised the Cubs even got as much as Izturis.

Thanks for the tip. I just noticed he was starting for the Barons tonight, replacing Lumsden. Hopefully he does better than Russell and Harrell have done so far.

QUOTE(Soxman72 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) That could have been a DP if the infield was at normal depth, but oh well Yeah, there is really no reason for Iguchi to be playing in there. You need to turn a double play.
