Minor league teams to play 'virtually'

QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) well, Schaumberg plays in the Northern League, which has the St. Paul Saints. From what I remember, that is AA level. Maybe lower They are indepedent as the article says. -
QUOTE(poorme @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) .277 and a ton of K's is a little disappointing to me. maybe he'll pick it up in the second half. I'm just impressed that he has been as good as he has been considering the lineup sucks. Even with the new signees to help the team, they suck.

QUOTE(Jake @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) I like 90-100's. Not 110's. Yeah, that avoids stagnant periods and has few periods of no defense.

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) I still consider him a non-prospect. Wow, that's harsh. He's at least a mediocre prospect.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) Haeger promoted to BHam. Trying to find out how the rest sorts out. Did I call it or did I call it?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) But did you all see that webgem by Bogusevic with the bases loaded and 2 outs to save Owings in the 5th or 6th? Yeah and he made a hell of a throw, it had no importance, but the play at 2nd was a closer than it should have been on a tough play. Bogu played a ball off the wall, turned, and fired a strike.

Charlotte played 13 and a half innings only to be suspended by rain. I guess they pick up where they left off tomorrow, haha. Baj dropped his ERA under 1. Box Score

I wouldn't say Malone continues to shine. He went 5 IP, 3 R today and he doesn't go deep into any starts. I don't think he can make it as a starter, maybe a reliever. Birmingham won 10-5. 15 hits for Barons. Aceves triple short of cycle. 2 hits for Owens, AGon, Sweeney, Reyes, and Haggerty. Box Score Hogs win 7-4. 2 hits for Valido, Hall, and Lee. Ryan Rodriguez struggled but got win #8. He's 8-4 with a 5.30 ERA, haha only with this offense.Box Score Kanny lost 5-2. 2 hits for Berry, McCarthy. Liotta continues to do work on the SAL, tough luck ND. Box Score

God I love this team!! Iguchi Everett Willie Rowand AJ Garcia WHITE SOX!

Syracuse @ Charlotte Knights down 4-3, Ulacia 6 IP, 3 R. Mobile @ Birmingham Barons up 4-0, mid 3. Malone starting Winston-Salem @ Wilmington Hogs up 5-4, Rodriguez with a rather rough start. Kannapolis @ Hickory I's down 5-2. Liotta with a good start, blown lead though.

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) The Sox must like these Broward CC guys. Two of our picks, Dan Jordan and Christian Marrero, both played this past season for Broward. Yeah, well Miami is a hotbed. It's easier. They scout one guy and find others they like.

Do you wake up every morning and realize how close you are to making it to the bigs?
-
I just realized that Winston-Salem is going with a 6 man rotation as of now. Gio started in Ryan Rodriguez's spot, but warthogs.com said Ryan is starting tonight. The way Rodriguez was pitching it seemed very likely that he would be the guy to get bumped. Maybe this means someone will get promoted to Birmingham for the 2nd half. I would assume Dizard would piggyback Broadway because Dizard hasn't been going deep into games. Either him or Rodriguez. So there really isn't much room for Liotta at the moment, not to say the Sox can't or won't make room.

QUOTE(Fotop @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Any word on what it was/seriousness of it? No, that was all the Winston-Salem press release said.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) Why? He was born in Adelaide wasn't he? Yeah, I just thought it was a cool name even though it has no significance. Heads, of course, came up with it.

AAP: Carlos Lee-Winston Salem Warthog

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) Those are pretty good numbers, but he has only played in 32 games and had 111 AB's. Let's say if he had over 200 AB's and 55-60 games played, and still had those kind of numbers, then I would say call him up to Birmingham. JMO. He's a catcher, he's not going to rack up a ton of at-bats. That and he had a stint on the DL. -
Updated with who has signed.

Gio left with an injury.
-
No draftees were even in the Super Regionals.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) Brooks - Rated as a 2nd rounder, was previously drafted by us, RHP. Depends on who you ask. The highest pick not signed is Yudelmis Hernandez, 1B, out of a Miami area HS. I was doing my FS writeup on him and it seems like he could be a draft and follow. He is a big time power bat, but missed his senior season due to a torn meniscus. He has a commitment to Broward CC so the Sox may want to see how he performs and sign him next year. I split and merged all the draft signing talks into here.

I used to play this all the time. I've gotten to level 10 once or twice before.
-
Haha you guys suck.

Syracuse @ Charlotte Scoreless through 3, Munoz starting replacing Stewart. Mobile @ Birmingham Phillips starting and had a scoreless 1st. Winston-Salem @ Wilmington Gio 3 IP, 2 R, 3 K, 4 hits so far. 'Hogs with only 1 hit, mid 4. Kannapolis @ Hickory Oneli Perez made a spot start for Gio and is getting beat around, 5-0 through 5.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) Hochaver is getting bombed. If it wasn't for some incredible outfield defense, he'd be dead and buried already. Yeah, this is the 2nd start I've seen from him and I'm not at all impressed by either start. In the super regionals against G Tech he walked like 5 guys in 7 innings despite shutting down the offense. I'm just not sure that he is worth anything close to what he is demanding. Also LaPorta, a sophomore 1B from Florida that was named 1st team All-America by BA, hit a 390 ft bomb earlier in the game. He has a national best 25 HRs on the season. I'd love to land a guy like him in next year's draft, but it seems doubtful he could fall to us.
