QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) I think he's trade-bait. It's possible. He would be in the bullpen of about half of the teams in the Majors right now. I could see a team that is selling looking for a guy like him as a young pitcher that can also help them now.

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Ryan Meaux is on the right and Bobby Jenks on the left. Ahh ok. I had no idea who it was. All I could gather was that it wasn't a guy on the Hogs this year or last, so I was right. It's very cool. I love how everyone has to keep using that same Tracey pic in the background. It's from Great Falls. Arms Race sounds good or maybe something to do with the highlight reel pictures. Something like "From the reel to the big leagues". I dunno, that's a little crappy but if you like it or it sparks something else you want then go for it.

Who is the guy on the left and the guy on the right in the Hogs jersey?

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) I agree...not a fan of the heat...although, I was in the UD, about 3 rows from the top, 1st base side and it was cool up there...no kidding. Wasn't even sweating, and I sweat a lot. It was teh first time I was glad to be sitting up there. Love the sig and avy! Funny thing is, I think Kristin is the only thing we agree on lol. I'm a heat guy. My mom always thinks it's because I was born during a heat wave in June of 87.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) They are still looking to trade for one. Yeah, maybe. I'm going to watch but I haven't paid much attention so other than watching a couple of the high school all-star games I don't know much about the HSers. Also, I know nothing of the foreigners. I won't be yelling or laughing at my tv and a lot of the picks as a result.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) Of note is recent draftee Chris Getz is playing SS instead of his usual 2B Getz played 2B in his debut, but has shifted to SS since. He was project as a SS out of the draft. I don't see how the guy was a 2B in college yet projected to SS in the pros. Anybody know why he was projected as a SS? Why would he play the easier position in college and then shift to the harder one in the pros? Young is 11-17 (.647) with 4 HR, 4 doubles, 8 RBI, 7 R, and a walk in his last 4 games.

No Bulls draft picks= :sleep

Young has a lot of potential but the odds of him making it are a lot lower than most good prospects. He has a low average which means he has holes, holes that will be exploited in the bigs. He has room to improve obviously. Not to say I won't take his current numbers for the Sox, but I'm concerned. His defense has improved a lot, only 2 errors this year, I remember him having a lot last year.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Saw a preview of it at the last movie I saw. Looked overdone. Agreed.

QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) No. The Sox have to win a World Series before the Cubs. That's just all there is to it. So I guess my opinion differs from yours'. I do not want to lose to the Cubs in the series. Yeah, I would probably die before see that. Good thing there is no way in hell the Cubs win it this year. Thing is, life doesn't work in deals like this. I want my team to win and now. The fun would be ruined if I knew the Sox were to win the next 2.

Best. Thread. Ever.

QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) Totally agree I think the end of this season and first half of next season he could go on a tear. He really turned it on in the 2nd half last season. Yeah, while I'm not as big of a Sweeney fan as most after what he did in the 2nd half last year it wouldn't surprise me if he does well this 2nd half as well.

Hogs win 4-3. Collaro 1-4 with a jack. Whisler came out of the pen, interesting, maybe they want to ease him in more gradually from the injury or they are just bumping him out of the rotation. Wasserman save #16. Box Score Kanny won 5-1. Bakker 5 shutout innings to get the win. Box Score Bristol won 4-2. Cunningham 2 hits. Box Score

Charlotte has a doubleheader today, every team in action. Charlotte lost game 1 14-1. Diaz got rocked. Anderson 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Box Score
-
Yeah, as I told you earlier, the key is to come up with unique stuff.

QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) I've been wondering, but who is Javier Ortiz? Free agent signing midseason. Started with Warthogs and got sent up to Charlotte when they need a pitcher.

Wow, this joke has gotten old...and fast.

Well then we are arguing different things. The trade helped both teams, that's not a bad thing lol. I always hated Carlos Lee, still do. He's doing well with the Brewers, good for him, I just didn't like having a dumb ball player on the Sox.
-
It's funny because everyone has been talking about how good Neal Cotts has been and I've never seen him pitch well. I never saw any of these good outings from him and then I'm finally watching a game when he pitches and he gives up a HR. Go figure.

QUOTE(TheHammer @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) I don't care about the money it freed up because I am not trying to argue that the trade was bad, I'm just saying Pods isn't nearly as good as people think he is and Carlos Lee is a better player. So what's the point? Would you rather undo the trade?

QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) Jose De Los Santos already has 16 errors at 3B, and Ryan McCarthy has 9 at shortstop. So yes, it would seem your hypothesis is correct. Javier Castillo had 17 errors playing SS and 3B before getting sent to Great Falls once their season started.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) I like real poker more than internet poker.... Who doesn't? I still find online poker fun at times. It's just harsh because you get called with crap hands that can outdraw you. It's a different game.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Has Jim been in the rotation since he got back from injury? Maybe they didn't want to disrupt the Bham rotation?? Yes. He pitched June 10th when he came back from the DL and got rocked (1.2 IP, 8 R) in support of Sean Tracey, who also got rocked on that day. Then on the 16th he started, going 3.2 IP and giving up 5 runs.
