Yeah, but he settled down until the 7th. Heck, he already surpassed my expectations after seeing the Texas game.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) I'm probbly in the minority here, but I do NOT want Jenks up here when we are on our run for a pennant. Something still lingering in the back of my head that says "You've heard about this guy and everything he has brought along the way in his career." Not the personality I want in the clubhouse, but thats just me. Maybe, but you can only hope the kid has finally figured it out. The Sox realize that Baj is probably not going to be more than an average middle reliever in the bigs. Meanwhile, Jenks has the potential to be an amazing closer (94 MPH SINKER?!).

Frank BMac Konerko Bullpen White Sox! Nice win. 5.2 shutout innings from the pen including 4 of those from Vizcaino and Shingo. Gotta love that.
-
BMac had control of his curveball. When he has that he doesn't need a 3rd pitch. When his curveball is off, it's hard for him to succeed without that change.
-
It's impossible to argue with Baj being the next guy called up but I wouldn't doubt that the Sox will bring up Jenks before him. The Sox were going to move Jenks up to Charlotte but pulled back on the move. I'm thinking they are going to promote him straight from AA when time comes. I wouldn't mind seeing either one up, just not Walker.

Charlotte Box Score Bristol got destroyed 15-0. 4 errors. 2 hits for Batista and Carter. Box Score

Good article. I don't think the all of big 4 are untouchable. BMac and Sweeney are likely not going anywhere. Fields probably doesn't carry too much value with his recent struggles, but I don't doubt KW would be willing to deal him. I personally think Anderson is up for trade. The outfield seems solid through at least 2006 barring a trade this offseason and he's going to be ready next year. An Anderson and Tracey package seems possible and should be attractive to other teams.

Kenny Rogers sends cameraman to the hospital

Cameraman's injuries=total bulls***. f*** the cameraman for filing charges. The whimp doesn't deserve s***. -
5+ IP, 5 R, 4 K, 2 BB, 1 or 2 HR.

QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) Now is Daigle too old to be playing at Charlotte? If he continues tearing the place up he is now a legitimate prospect and no one can play the "He's too old for A ball" card. MWAHAH! Don't get your hopes up that high, he hit .238 in his only season in AA and has 1 at-bat in his career at AAA. The Sox must have figured it's now or never and Rogo isn't ready to be moved up. I gotta hope that Spidale in W-S is temporary though. I can't imagine he's going to be there for long.
-
I gotta question why they moved Spidale to W-S. Why burn the guy so fast?

:sleep Mark 10/15 on your calendar Heads.

New Hot Sheet out. Chris Young got honorable mention. Justin Verlander is #1, looks like the Tigers finally have a prospect. Ryan Zimmerman, 05 draftee, is also already hitting well in AA.

QUOTE(MnSoxFan @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Wasn't that Cortes's first shelling and first game action. The other Cortez (see the z on the end) has been shelled previously. Bah, that's what happens when people kept changing from Cortes to Cortez when he got drafted. It's not fair to have 2 of them, both pitchers.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Personaly I prefere the previous one, it's more subtle. Subtle is one thing, seeing it is another.
-
Except if you listen he says fair ball, not foul ball. He did fine. Your hearing was the only thing botched about that call.

Wasserman pitched a scoreless 8th, King 1 and giving up a leadoff single. Meanwhile, Cook struck out in his only at-bat of the SAL game. In regular action, Charlotte lost 4-3. Gload began another rehab stint going 2-4. Bullard had a better start, but still not pretty. 5.1 IP with 4 runs against, all from 3 HRs. Box Score Bristol lost 7-3. 2 hits for Sanchez and Acosta. After another shelling Cortes has an ERA of 81. Yippee. Box Score

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) Funny that you mention that, that is who is is mostly compared to. I have also seen him compared to payton many times. I think miller is much more likely than payton considering payton is one of the best point guards to play. Jack is more explosive than Miller IMO. I think Jack is more of a scorer and less of a true PG than Miller.

Love it Hermanson. Shut Pudge the f*** up! Dye Buehrle Hermanson White Sox!

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Nuggets select jarret jack... Interesting pick. I like him, but I don't know how much time he'll get behind Miller.

Anybody hear any recent rumors that the Bulls are looking for a trade in the 2nd round?
-
Wow is that dark or what?

Charlotte and Bristol are the only affiliates in action today. Birmingham and Great Falls got rained out. Bullard is starting for Charlotte, rocky so far. Meanwhile, the Carolina/California League All-Star game is today as well as the South Atlantic League All-Star game. The Warthogs have Daigle, Valido, Collaro, Haigwood, and Wasserman on the team. Valido went 0-3 with a strikeout and 4 left on base, ouch. Daigle 1-3, run, K. Collaro 2-3, 2B, RBI, K. Haigwood had a 1-2-3 2nd inning with 2 strikeouts. Wasserman yet to pitch. Cali/Car All-Star Game Coverage In the SAL All-Star game Cook and Liotta were on the team. Cook hasn't played yet. Liotta got in for the 4th and gave up 3 runs, 1 earned, on 2 hits.
