QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 05:07 PM) Tenn, Lasalle and Virginia crippled themselves today though I'm sure at least one will be in. Might open the door for MTSU to slip in, I think they're better than all teams mentioned(except maybe Virginia) but I don't think they should be in the field. That being said, I'm definitely rooting for them to get in. The bubble is so bad that Middle Tennessee should be in. 28-5 is good enough compared to what these other teams bring to the table.

Agreed that it wasn't an intentional foul. It just gets tricky because he's behind the ball and had zero chance of getting the ball. Most hard fouls for contested layups/dunks at least have a chance at getting the ball as well as man. Still, you can't call it an intentional foul. If that's an intentional foul than IU committed four in the last minute.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 10, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) Decides a lot of games, really. Makes hitting free throws a the end of every game way more important. I know, Michigan has no one to blame but themselves. The two layups at the end have to fall, too. Just think about what the one and one rule is. We just fouled you, but you only get one free throw because you weren't shooting and we have enough fouls for you to go to the line, but not enough for you to automatically get two free throws. However, if you make the first you get two after all. WTF? It creates drama at the end of high school and college basketball games so I guess it adds that element and you won't hear many coaches complain about it because just make your free throws, but the logic behind the rule is truly strange.
-
This is kind of a side note, but who came up with the one and one anyway? It's such a goofy rule and it decided today's game.
-
No other way to explain that game other than LOL college basketball. Indiana is beat, Michigan chokes, what, 4 or 5 times? 3 missed free throws and 2 missed bunnies at the end.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2013 -> 07:35 PM) Compared to the first year they did this, the quality of play they're getting from the non-incredible teams is impressive. Whether we pay attention or not, it seems like the WBC is seriously helping improve international baseball and probably interest in baseball internationally as well. Kind of true, but look at the Italy roster. Most aren't Italians, but Americans with Italian descent. The brawl is the biggest attention the WBC is going to draw.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 9, 2013 -> 08:59 PM) Gonzaga really proving that they are worth that #1 ranking... No one with a brain should vote them No. 1. It's the same thing as Boise State football. Talk to me when you play good teams on a regular basis. Thankfully the tournament solves all.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 9, 2013 -> 05:33 PM) That garbage team has won 8 of 9 and is largely considered to be in the tournament by most people. Plus, Jordan McRae should be the SEC POY. It's not that bad of a loss. It's hard to win at Tennessee. But you're right about Haith being a joke. He's not good. They were out before that win by some. It's hard to win at Tennessee because they usually have good teams. This year's team is mediocre.
-
Mizzou with another embarrassing loss to a garbage team. They're up 8 with less than 10 minutes to go. All they have to do is play smart, even basketball for a few minutes and Tennessee probably folds. Instead, as always on the road, they collapse right at the point where they can put the other team away. I'm so tired of being the resume boosting win for these mediocre SEC teams. They have the ball down 3 with 20 seconds left and everyone who's watched Missouri this year knows Pressey isn't going to pass the ball and is going to take the 3 even though he's not a good 3 point shooter. Haith screams at him at the timeout after, but it's his fault for not knowing his player. Call the timeout beforehand and run a play instead of letting the play run and allowing something stupid to happen. There's 4 players with a chance to play in the NBA on this team yet they can't win a game on the road against anyone with a pulse. I continue to hope Haith gets fired for this Miami scandal. Look at all the success a real coach is having with his players at Miami. It's a joke.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 6, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) 2 is somewhat close to the truth. The way I see it, IU has had such a terrible past few years, and now we want to take advantage of every "good" (ie, winning at least a share of the Big Ten crown) thing we can. Therefore, we wanted to have all the pomp and circumstance of getting to cut down the nets. Unfortunately, yesterday's game was the only remaining home game. So it's a tough circumstance. Personally, I wouldn't have done it in this situation. Have some private ceremony with just players/family later. Maybe not ideal, but better than at 1 in the morning after a loss. Turn it into a pep rally send off before the Big Ten Tournament or NCAA Tournament. The IU fans in town will go. This was just stupid on their part.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 5, 2013 -> 06:57 PM) Stat of the night Oladipo vs ranked teams 20.0 PPG. Vs unranked teams 12.4 PPG. Yeah, but they also lost to two unranked teams. His overall numbers aren't impressive, but a lot of people are convinced he's a first-team all-american. It's an interesting case.

Gus isn't as bad as I thought he would be, but I still don't want to watch him. -
I didn't care much for Connor so I'm glad he was a one-off. Interesting that his last name seems to be Kenway though. I hope there are more combat on boats missions. The Boston Tea Party mission was the best from AC3. I'm still trying to full synch one of the privateer missions so I hope they modify the naval missions, or at least don't add too many more.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 04:23 PM) Holy Hot Tub Time Machine! http://www.buzzfeed.com/danoshinsky/meet-t...ketball-jerseys Truly, truly awful. Ha, I went to college with the guy who wrote that. Funny dude. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 05:08 PM) Depending on who they draw and who's in their bracket, I think they could get farther if they get hot. Illinois can beat a top caliber team, we've seen that, but I wouldn't bank on them putting 3 quality performances in a row.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 24, 2013 -> 04:48 PM) Is it a slim or and old fat PS3? Slim.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 12:42 AM) I still don't feel like last gen peaked I was just playing Crysis 3 and my PS3 got louder than ever before trying to play that game. I think one of the cut scenes nearly melted it. That sure sounds like hardware peaking to me.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 02:08 PM) If Watch Dogs lives up the potential, we're talking one of the best games ever. Go watch the PS4 demo they played. Holy f***. I also love The L in game. Adds such an odd dynamic to games that's familiar to Chicagoans. Agree. I'm still not sure it looks like Chicago other than that, but I really don't care because of how good everything looks. The free running reminded me of AC3 with the programmed fluid movement to jump a fence or something.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 12:42 AM) I still don't feel like last gen peaked, but a new inFamous and Watch Dogs? Sign me up. If they announce Jak 4 or Kingdom Hearts 3...launch day buy. I do wish they just stayed with the Dualshock though. No need to reinvent the wheel. OMG Watchdogs. The s*** you can do and the fact that it's in Chicago. My only worry is that my expectations are way too high for it.

The share button sounds really cool. I'm especially curious about what Microsoft has in store because there's a lot of innovative ideas with the PS4. We could end up with three totally different consoles as opposed to some of them being more or less the same as we've seen in the past.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 04:39 PM) Geez, Oladipo is like the new Hummel, in terms that I thought he was a senior. Seems like he's been around forever. He might as well be a senior. He's as good as gone.

QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 07:22 AM) I am pretty excited, my local university is back with a Div 1 soccer program as part of joining the Western Athletic Conference. Sitting on the border, and being one of the top Hispanic universities in the US, I'm hoping we can pull in a few of the top players from Mexico. Or, more likely, some top Mexican-American players. Plenty of talent to go around in that demographic. -
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 07:08 AM) Yes, everyone died and they are all zombies now. Zombie Rick and Zombie Andrea got married and their wedding cake was made from the parts of Carl, Glenn, and Maggie. Hershel ate his other leg. Shane came back only to be killed again, this time by Zombie Daryl. That totally should be the finale.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2013 -> 03:01 PM) The crowd at Assembly Hall is chanting "Ball State's better". I can't stop laughing. This is something Indiana fans are very familiar with since Ball State has beat them in football the last two years.

Is Kentucky still a tournament team without Noel? They were fringe top 25 with him. They just lost by 30 at Tennessee without him. Given their overall resume resembles an 8 or 9 seed as is they will probably need to get a quality win without him to show the current team is worthy.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 13, 2013 -> 02:43 PM) I'm seeing no development in the characters and bad acting - so I'm just over it. Rick's an insufferable prick, for some reason Darryl thought that the group should forgive his brother for getting a member molested and nearly raped and another beaten and both almost killed. I've seen enough zombies, there's no shock and excitement on the show anymore - just characters acting stupidly. So I'm done. I think I'm with you. I flirted with ditching it last season, but was hoping it would return to the goodness of the first season. The first half of this season was good, but I didn't miss the show during the break and it took me six days to watch this latest episode. The stupidity in the first 15 minutes and then the talking about it in the middle of the show was painful. I also don't know why they needed to add the ghost thing. It's just weird. The show already has enough stuff going on. At the very least give us some mystery as to what's going on in his head. Don't show us the thing and tell us that he's the only one who sees it. Let us at least wonder about it. So I'm not planning on watching anymore because the spirit of the first season and why I loved that season is so far gone and there's no going back to that place.
