QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 2, 2012 -> 02:46 AM) How is it? Haven't played Liberation yet, but the Vita itself is an impressive device. It's surprisingly light and when I was killing time in a Panera today I noticed that I actually found it better to browse on the web that my iphone because of the bigger touch screen and similar interface.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 01:26 PM) Made the mistake of assuming Best Buy would get my copy of AC3 to me on release day like Amazon does. Instead, it won't arrive here until Saturday. Bahhh. I ordered the Vita bundle for AC Liberation from Best Buy and it arrived before release day. Luck of the draw I guess.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 03:03 PM) I'll be at the Fire playoff game tonight. First ever Fire game for me. So go soccer. That was a dud. Sucks that they had 3 days to market the game and it had a late start on a really cold night. MLS scheduling is poor, to say the least. -

About to pop Assassin's Creed III in the PS3. This should be awesome.

That video makes him quite endearing. I like his story, being a Brazilian baseball player. I hope he makes it.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 26, 2012 -> 06:54 AM) Will the South American teams still send their 'A' squads with the games being played farther away? A Brazil/Argentina/US/Mexico semifinal round would be amazing. Uruguay probably is better than the US so it would be a pleasant surprise if the US got that far in the tourney. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Games like that should just be Redbox'd. You can likely beat it in a week, costing yourself $10 instead of $60. It depends. I haven't had much difficulty dropping 30 hours into the last few games (not including the hot/cold multiplayer) since I like doing all the side stuff and challenges.

17 White Sox releases on BA's minor league transactions. Jon Gilmore the biggest name, but Nick Ciolli, Leighton Pangilinan and a pair of foreign pitchers (Darwin Matos and Leopoldo Sanchez) were among the notable names. Mostly guys from rookie ball. We'll see more as the offseason continues.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 17, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) There will be atleast 1 NFL stadium and maybe 2 just because of number of tickets that could be sold. Can't they just leave those for friendlies like when the US played Poland at Soldier Field? No one cares if there's a big away crowd for those. I'd like to see these nice stadiums get some exposure outside of MLS. -

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Oct 17, 2012 -> 01:20 PM) I was under the impression that the travel consideration of going to the Pacific Northwest made it somewhat impractical to hold qualifiers there as they happen during the European season. Since a lot of the USMNT plays in Europe, it's a much shorter trip to go to Columbus, KC or somewhere on the east coast than to make the trip to Seattle/Portland (which would both be awesome places for qualifiers). Echoing the sentiment earlier, please no qualifiers in football stadiums. Small stadiums, ensure you have a good partisan crowd in the Hex. They do have a couple June dates in the hex. I think I heard 4 of the 10 games will be played next June, which means the European season will be over and travel won't be as much of a factor. The big knock is the turf in Seattle, though. It's such a shame because those crowds are awesome and deserve a qualifier. Portland and Foxborough also have artificial turf so those sites are out. As far as built-for-soccer MLS stadiums with grass the list is Houston, Columbus, Colorado, Dallas, LA, KC, Philly, Red Bull Arena, Salt Lake and Toyota Park. Houston, Dallas and LA are out unless the US is hosting Jamaica. There are too many fans from Mexico/Central America in those cities. Columbus, KC and Salt Lake should all host a game in the Hex. I think Philly could work, too. The Jamaica game can go to a bigger city because I don't think Jamaica has the same fan base here that the other countries do. Selfishly I'd like to see Toyota Park get one, but I doubt that will happen. Either way, keep it at these stadiums until we know the US can fill a 40,000+ seat stadium. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 16, 2012 -> 02:55 PM) The Poland/England qualifier is probably gonna get postponed due to too much rain and an unplayable field. Despite the fact that the new stadium in Warsaw has a retractable roof. From what I read they couldn't use the roof because it was below a certain temperature. They're not supposed to use it in that case. As for the US, it was their best showing (other than that awful and scary early goal) since the Scotland game. The offense was unstoppable in the first half and they played a clean, possessive second half. That third goal had maybe the best build up on a US goal I can remember. Unreal stuff from Bradley. Hex schedule comes out Thursday. I'll be curious to see where the US decides to host the matches, though I'm pretty sure that will come later. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) Also, my wife and I couldn't remember - was there an explanation for why the zombies don't just "die" from lack of food? Do they need any (wasn't that the point of them moving out of the city into the country)? Could they conceivably just continue on for the next 100 years? Or can the humans realistically try and wait them out? If you allow for the fact that they don't need nutrition, no zombie universe has properly addressed decay. A zombie invasion is more or less impossible because once a human body is dead it's going to decay fairly quickly and the zombies wouldn't be able to walk within a week. You'd see a lot more of the zombies crawling around like the one Rick shot at with its lower torso missing. Of course, that's not very scary because it's not really much of a threat.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 14, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) Wasn't he typically a 91-93 type guy during the season? Like Johnny Danks type velo? The difference there isn't all that big, but his fastball is more or less why he's a prospect. He's got good velocity.

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) @MikePereira The hit on Golson was not helmet to helmet. It was upper arm to helmet, which to me is not a foul. Thanks for sharing. The TD call was obvious, but this one also bothered me live. I thought live that was absurd and the replay confirmed. The QB was not down, however, it looked a bit dirty because he was definitely going down. Regardless, it was legal. ND got every questionable or close call down the stretch. It was beyond belief. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 13, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) The Hex has the potential to be US, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, & Honduras. Holy Central American road games there. It would be nice if Canada can manage a tie @ Honduras, Toronto is a bit friendlier place than Tegucigalpa is. Jamaica and Canada both have a good shot to get through. Not that Jamaica was a friendly place last time, but we could just as easily see two Central American teams. I'd consider that pretty low. There's been three Central American teams in the last two hexs so two would be an upgrade. I'd certainly much rather see Trinidad, Jamaica and Canada get their s*** together than deal with all those Central America road games, no question. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2012 -> 06:16 PM) With WVU and Geno losing, watch the media push for Te'o for Heisman now. He probably wasn't even one of the 3 best defensive players on the field today (Nix, Tuitt, Chase Thomas). If Suh didn't win the Heisman, I don't see Te'o winning it. It's so hard for a defensive player to win. There would have to be no standout players on offense. Besides, if Griffin can win at Baylor then Geno can win with WVU picking up 2-3 losses. -

QUOTE (SnB @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) What's different from '12? Fifa '12 was the first fifa I've bought in ages and I'm still playing it almost daily. Still hooked on my career. In terms of gameplay alone the biggest change is the first touches. The difference between good and bad teams has never been larger and playing with mediocre players has never been less enjoyable IMO. The game gets sloppy and it's a bit harder to string passes together. It makes you think and play a bit differently though. They also nerfed the finesse shot, which was a bit too easy to score with in the past couple years. The stupid impact engine from 12 has been refined so you don't get the rag doll collisions and other than a few awful reffing decisions that come up every so often the impact engine doesn't screw up much at all. In terms of features/game modes this is the best FIFA ever by a long shot. They split the virtual pro career into offline and online so you can't boost on your own. The manager career mode is similar with a few minor upticks. The skill challenges are cool and the free kick one has really improved how good I am at those. I've noticed tons of bugs though. I've been leaking random accomplishments with my online pro, which soured me on that for a few days. I can't imagine an RPG like Borderlands or something having players losing leveling progress without a massive uproar from the community. I was bummed when that happened and despite other people complaining about the same issues EA hasn't done anything yet. 13 is worth buying, but if you're still having fun with 12 I'd say maybe hold off another month or so to see if you can start with a patched version.
