Jennifer Lawrence isn't attractive.

OK fair enough. I know very little about the story. I didn't know there were two other boys to begin with ha.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) Don't underestimate the power teenage girls have to make something extremely popular. Just look at Hanna Montana, Justin Bieber, Twilight, etc... That's what I don't get about this movie. What about this plot draws teenage girls? Just because the main character is a teenage girl? Talk about low standards.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 23, 2012 -> 12:05 PM) Whenever I have the goal of walking, I take every pitch until I get to 2 strikes. And usually that means it starts 0-2 or 1-2. Then my only hope is to foul off some pitches because they continue to pound the zone. So you've adopted the Brian Anderson school of hitting. No wonder you suck.

If your batting average is as bad as you've posted I wouldn't walk you either. Get your average up, make them respect you and you'll probably walk more. At least, that's if the video game is realistic.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 04:48 PM) You cant have zombie movies if the main characters are smart. The simple answer is that zombies dont have brains, thus even the simplest human should be able to create a fortification to stop zombies. I mean even the simplest human would have built a moat, trench, etc. You know simple techniques that were developed to stop walking armies. Let alone more advanced techniques like putting flameable material in a trench so when a large swarm of zombies came they would fall in trench and then be lit on fire. That doesnt even get into the parts about hoarding important supplies, etc. But if you have smart humans, you dont have a zombie film. Its why Carl always runs off. At a certain point you cant write that the main adult characters are acting stupid and naive. Funny thing is if they made the characters this smart the show would barely be different. It would still be a soap opera based on characters that are poorly written. In fact, the writers would have MORE time to focus on bad drama that no one cares about. They could round up some zombies from their trap or something and then go fight over Lori or something. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 05:32 PM) (3) as someone else said - don't drive a) a repeatedly broken RV, and b) a loud as s*** motorcycle (little gas tank! no protection! very loud!) The motorcycle is incredibly gas efficient though. I think it's just that he thought it was cool to have one so he got one. We'd learn a lot more about the characters in a more efficient way if they simply went 'oooo a motorcycle/samurai sword/Hummer/whatever I'm gonna take this.' They could mod up the characters like they were in a video game and show much more of their personality by displaying their tastes. They all go to a gun store and pick guns that they like or different things they find useful.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 03:24 PM) They are zombies. They are not real. This is fantasy. I'm sure their legs would break in real life. I'm starting to think zombies aren't for some people. I understand the concept of fiction, but this show stretches it pretty far and typically zombie movies go over the top or are intentionally campy. This show takes itself so seriously that it needs to be held to those standards. Obviously, you have to allow the premise of zombies. I'm just saying I don't really think this show does it best. Throw in bad character writing and the show isn't as good as has the potential to be.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 08:28 AM) Also, Carl goes from being a kid, to being a kid who wants to be an adult and shoot things, to being a crybaby. F*ck you, Carl. Our team of zombie slayers is pulling off head shots with a 98% accuracy (might actually be 100%). Fun-bad defined, that's just good television last night. Lori's reaction was fine, but Carl's made no sense. I still think he cocked the gun too early to recognize Shane was a walker in the field. The timing of that had me all confused. The head shots were classic comedy. Rick's kills in front of the RV were fine because they were close range, but the line from Glen 'keep it steady' was hilarious. You're in a moving vehicle and carrying a shotgun! You're not going to hit anything other than dumb luck. Might as well not even aim. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) Lori might have some issues with Shane's death because she knows Shane is the father. f***in Maury man. That's exactly what I was thinking, however if that's the case her wanting Rick to 'handle' Shane doesn't make any sense. Overall it was an entertaining episode but it was more in line with standard zombie movies with hilariously bad/dumb moments instead of intelligent. It had more inconsistent moments than normal. Andrea running through the woods for hours and being chased by zombies that can't run. I'm probably just questioning the entire logic of zombies in general by saying this, but don't their joints just completely fail at some point? Even if the virus maintains some body functions the ones walking with injuries and limps (which they all seem to have) are going to exaggerate those injuries and eventually not be able to walk at all. This episode seemed to expose more of the 'rules' of the world and that's why everyone is b****ing about inconsistencies. Not to sound too nerdy, but at least with Resident Evil the virus spawns mutation so the zombies seem more plausible. In this show the zombies would all just become cripples in no time.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) Throw in the pathetic showing from the MWC so far and the opposite of what you said is happening this year. No chaos, the only upsets are to MWC teams and Creighton is losing to make the MVC look awful as well. Good year mid-majors! Creighton responded to a jinx I guess. Good game! -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 07:43 AM) Wanted to say congrats to the IU and ISU fans. I've bashed your teams all year long and they both came out and kicked some ass... No chaos, the only upsets are to MWC teams and Creighton is losing to make the MVC look awful as well. Good year mid-majors! -
QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 06:07 AM) Too much "Buzz" love in this thread. His recruiting isn't so clean in some cases. The Branden Dawson recruitment was an absolute joke. Pretty well known around Indiana these days. Buzz was actually the high bidder, reaching over six figures. Branden decided he'd go to MSU obviously, but not before he had two all expenses paid unofficial visits to Marquette. UCLA was also very "nice". I have a hard time believing this because if this were true the kid would have gone to Marquette. You're not going to tell me an 18-year-old turned down 6 figures to go somewhere else for no money.
-
That was probably the best game of the day. Pretty awful day of games. 2 upsets, but nothing shocking and both of the favorites were mid-majors so that kind of defeats the purpose.
-
That implies Illinois is going to pay up for the raise and the buyout. I didn't say he wouldn't do it, but he won't do it unless he gets a raise. Pony up U of I.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) Why go from an NCAA tourney program to Illinois unless it's a big raise. That was exactly my point. As for actual games going on, people who picked UConn and are dismissing Iowa State against Kentucky in the next round just don't know how good Royce White is. I didn't pick the Clones to beat UK, but it's going to be a better game than people think. White is up there with Draymond Green as one of the toughest match ups in the country.
-
Not sure why Buzz would go from Marquette to Illinois. They capable of that much of a raise?
-
The foul was pretty iffy. They were about 50-50 in regards to position. Just because the Syracuse guy reached over the back of the Asheville player and got hip checked doesn't mean he had position. It was at least a close call. The out of bounds wasn't.
-
Marquette's player do FAR too much yelling. Enough already.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) Count me as a crotchety old tradionalist, but I just don't like teams not wearing white as the home team. Colors should be worn on the road!! I don't know if it makes you old, but it certainly makes you weird to care about such a thing. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 03:22 PM) Halftime: UNC-Asheville 34, Syracuse 30 Syracuse 1-for-13 from 3-point land, shooting about 38% from the floor total. That's not going to last, but Asheville's best player had a quiet first half too. I suspect Cuse pulls ahead after another 5-10 minutes of close basketball.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) I think any seed 1-5 could make the final four from this bracket. Yet no one is picking Wisconsin, which is exactly why I did. FSU and Vandy are so overvalued right now that it's pretty dumb to pick them. If you're going to go out on a limb with a 5 seed, they better be a rare pick. The risk/reward of taking a 5 that everyone else is taking is really bad.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) Isn't that kind of a spoiler on Franco's character? I thought he was super annoying in Scrubs, Steve. Ha That's because he was super annoying in Scrubs.

For those with a PS3 I recommend Journey. It's $15 on PSN and is a very unique video game experience. If you ever wanted to know what it's like to play an animated movie with a plot similar to Fantasia, this is it. It's not as epic as Fantasia, but it has a similar feel in parts. Pretty cool overall.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 12, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) Apparently Mizzou needed to play someone in non-conference. They were one spot from a 3. I blame Illinois for sucking so much. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 12, 2012 -> 09:13 AM) I'm not sure why you'd expect better. De Niro hasn't made a good [serious] movie in over ten years. My expectations weren't high, I just hoped De Niro would play a bigger role in the movie.
