  1. Once again OSU looks like a one-man team. Sullinger has an awful game and they lose. The Buckeyes would barely be ranked without him it seems.
  2. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) Not really. I'm just waiting for Scott Drew to keep a zone on us like he did against Mizzou. If we win just two more home games we're not in the worst shape. It's all about defending the home court. I have a tough time seeing a 20-11 (10-8) team that finishes fourth in the Big 12 being kept out. That being said, I still see us splitting with Baylor. Baylor's zone today seemed like a concession that they couldn't win in Columbia unless Mizzou shot poorly. Playing zone against four guards means they will shoot a lot of threes. Maybe that works in your favor if Mizzou doesn't shoot well, but it didn't work out. Drew pretty much put Mizzou in control of the game for better or worse.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 05:30 PM) Texas A&M is just awful to watch offensively. On the bright side, Iowa State is now tied with Baylor for third in the Big 12 with a game in Waco on Monday night that should be pretty good. Baylor is playing on low confidence, but it would take something special for the Clones to win in Waco. Iowa State's tourney hopes hinge on their final 3 conference games.
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) My best friend is in town and they won't let him in without an ID, even though we have a ticket. Yeah they started enforcing that stronger while I was there. It's pretty annoying. You used to be able to sell student section football tickets to anyone, but in 07 or 08 they made you have an ID for those spots as well. Really hurts the resell market haha.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 11, 2012 -> 11:37 AM) Why is Mizzou/Baylor not on TV? this would be my first shot at seeing the Tigers on TV. Ugh Yeah, it's awful. The ESPN3 stream isn't even in hi def.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) Kind of funny that the best movie in each trilogy is the one where the bad guys come out on top. I liked Jedi myself, but whatever.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) Revenge of the Sith Attack of the Clones The Phantom Menace I personally think 2 and 3 receive a lot of unnecessary heat because of the Jar Jar issue in 1. Yeah 2 and 3 were very good action movies. They didn't have the charm of the originals, but visually they were great.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 10, 2012 -> 10:54 AM) To be clear - again - I was not criticizing the signing. At all. I like it. I just question the NRI, which seems silly. That's mostly irrelevant. They won't be trotting him out in the Major League spring games if he has no control of a 90 MPH fastball and nothing else. It's probably just a way of having him spend more time with the best players and coaches. I'm pretty surprised this got picked up in so many places, even for a USC (backup) QB.
  9. That is the most logical MLB.com top 20 for the Sox I can remember. They've been the worst lists imaginable.
  10. QUOTE (farmteam @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 09:41 PM) Northwestern really sticking it to Iowa here. One of the better NU performances I can remember.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 9, 2012 -> 09:09 AM) All of the main characters from First Class are signed on for a 3 picture deal IIRC. Wolverine I am very skeptical about, that is a tentpole franchise that has been totally ham-handed the entire way. I watch that Wolverine movie and still wonder if the director ever read a Wolverine comic or if they just watched the 90s XMen cartoon. Fox has this intensely brutal, animalistic character that they are turning into a love-lost sappy action hero. I liked the Wolverine movie and thought First Class was s***, but I don't read comics so I didn't have demands for the story. The Wolverine movie was the best story of the mediocre X-Men film series so far.
  12. That looks cool and I will see it, but it still feels weird without Damon.
  13. QUOTE (oldsox @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) Wasn't Saladino hurt early last year? Wrist injury? 2012 is big year for him. He was. Wrist injury in spring training that kept him out until May, which was also his worst month.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 8, 2012 -> 01:08 PM) Littlehurt, Id love it if the SEC agreed. Id be quite interested to see Florida come up to Madison or Ann Arbor in December. Well see what happens, but thats my prediction. Except Wisconsin hasn't been in the top 2 in what, decades? Michigan hasn't been for a while either. You basically just mentioned the unlikely scenario in which the Big Ten actually has a national title contender not named Ohio State.

    2012 TV Thread

I turned the River off 20 minutes into the second hour. The whiny wife and gullible characters just didn't do it for me. Too many clashes and extremes (I HAVE TO FILM THIS or WE CAN'T LEAVE). It also doesn't need to be found footage. It just adds a layer of implausibility while making it hard to watch. They pretty much wrote it like a regular show with flashbacks and everything.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 7, 2012 -> 06:54 PM) Gotta survive in Stillwater for twenty more minutes. 8-3 to start out in the Big 12 would be really nice, and would equal a tie for third with Baylor or Kansas. But we haven't won there since 1988. Just gotta survive. Le'Bryant Nash says no, the bastard.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) Wow, nutso finish at OU. Anywho, nobody will remember this one but solid W for MU, this was the ultimate trap game... I really hate fouling up 3. I'd rather take my chances with a team chucking a prayer to be honest. Last year's Missouri team has taught me to be very excited with any conference road win. This team has 4 of them in 6 tries.
  18. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) IIRC, Shaka Smart said "no thanks" to both Mizzou and NC State last year before signing his long term deal, so I have a hard time believing that he'd see Illinois as that much better of a job. I'd be all for it if he could be convinced. I think NC State made a big push for him, but I don't know if Mizzou did any more than a feeler. They made a big push for Matt Painter. Shaka may just not have been ready to leave yet. Separate him from the Final Four in time and he'll probably be more likely to leave. Hard to leave all those good vibes so quickly.
  19. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 5, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) That was an odd game. Illinois made more 3's at a higher percentage than NU and Leonard was unstoppable, and yet they somehow lost? At the same time NU shot 60% and tied on the boards and only won by 4.
  20. Also also: Kansas lost while shooting 53.6% and yes that charge on Robinson was bad (but it wasn't an and one, just a no call Moore was still and flopped).
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) Love how Denmon told the fans to not rush the court. Love how Denmon knew not to pass the ball against all conventional basketball wisdom when he was feeling it. Also: OMG college basketball
  22. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 08:34 PM) Well bmags I await your thanks for waking up Marcus... As my friend just texted me 'these games are so weird.' The ones in Columbia at least. The home crowd scares Mizzou in the first few minutes, then they settle down, but Kansas is always good so yeah...
  23. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 4, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) I wish we could have Mizzou at home around now rather than right at the beginning of the conference season. Believe me, a lot of Mizzou fans have mentioned this.
  24. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 05:11 PM) Why the hell did Green-Beckham pick Missouri? And why the hell did Darius Hamilton pick Rutgers? If DGB was from Ohio and went to Missouri the question would be entirely legitimate, but a kid staying in-state should never be that shocking. QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 06:53 PM) They don't plan to be in college long so they go somewhere where they can start early and stand out. Wrong sport. They have to be in college for 3 years.
