QUOTE (daggins @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:55 PM) Same guys who "broke" the adrian gonzalez trade right? I remain skeptical. What trade are you talking about? I read here that the Sox were talking to San Diego. Which probably happened. I don't remember anyone here saying a trade is occuring. Can you please post a link to this? I remain skeptical that you can.

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:29 AM) Nevermind the fact they still hit 200 homeruns. Oh and had the best staff and pen this organization has ever had. All of which 2010 will not likely have. Off-Season is not over yet...

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:25 AM) Great point. I also think the Sox are giving up a lot of runs without a solid run producer in left field, a traditional "power spot" if you will. You could get away with that if you actually played half your games in a pitchers park. Like it or not the White Sox SHOULD be built around the homerun. Yeah...that LF situation hurt them in 2005.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 09:58 AM) He will play left i hope? Yep, with CQ moving to RF. I expect Kenny to look for a DH who can play OF to split time RF/LF.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 09:55 AM) All righty, there is our leadoff hitter, for better or for worse. I say for better...I always have been a fan.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 29, 2009 -> 03:42 PM) Probably still working her job as a truck stop waitress. She used to pour the fastest cup of coffee, but her service has slowed down the past few years... -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 07:22 PM) Dotel is gone and the bullpen was horrible last year. If the Sox picked up Pujols to DH and Holliday to play RF, if the bullpen performs like it did in 2009, they wouldn't win. Hmmm...not to sure about that. Easy on the hyperbole...

What's the strangest/funniest/wildest non-baseball thing at USCF

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 11:07 AM) I remember many times seeing people get high on the ramps behind the scoreboard in CF at the old ballpark. Which reminds me, you still owe me $20... -

My buddy and I asked two Nuns, who were sitting in our season ticket seats, to please leave and find their own seats on an opening day. We then said to each other: "I wonder if God is going to punish us for that?" We said: "Nahhh" The year was 1994. sorry guys... -
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 17, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) Yea Bowie! And Ribbie had him even higher than I did. I am all over the first page...either I have really good taste or my top bands are everyone else's bottom bands.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 05:51 PM) saw that art movie 2012 - funniest movie I've seen in a while. I was waiting for Danny Glover to say "I'm gettin' too old for this s***."

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) You and me are two of the three Soxtalkers that had Talking Heads on their lists — I wonder who the other bloke with good taste is. Hey Ni. . . For previous list countdowns, didn't you include the names of all teh SWoxTalkers that included a particular entry, and not just the poster who scored it in the highest slot? I thinks that's what you did, and I liked that. At any rate, two of my bands have made the cut so far. yea. I knew there was good reason I liked you...

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) Psycho Killer is a great song. Pure originals! I'm thrilled they made the list! Soxtalk = Taste!

As we saw this year, if there is extra room in the budget Kenny usually saves it for mid-season moves.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) All true, and so muche of the darker subtext hits you long after the film is over. Really really well done. Thanks...don't have to see it now

If the past shows us anything, Jerry is willing to up the budget if Kenny says we need to do it to win. We're not talking $200 million, but another 10 is possible.

I'm assuming you plan to play Overbay at 1st, with Paulie DHing?

Mark Buehrle wins Fielding Bible Award
RibbieRubarb replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) The numbers don't lie. Mark Buehrle is just really above-average at everything he does. He's a great pitcher and an even better guy. Hell of a number #2 starter for the next couple of years too. Get a room!! lol
