  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) Wow, my girlfriend has had Slaughterhouse 5 sitting on the headboard too That's odd. My transvestite brother also has Slaughterhouse 5 on his headboard.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) Ozzie Guillen, Scott Podsednik, and George W Bush. Pretty much any problem you can think is one of their faults. Don't forget Kenny Williams!! Him and Ozzie need to go...what did they ever do for this team?!?
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:39 AM) Ya, it looks like the final 5 and than the season finale are going to be amazing. I enjoyed this past weeks episode, especially after the last five minutes. Here is the rumored order of the Flashbacks for the final episodes: 3.16 Juliet Burke (yesterday) 3.17 Desmond Hume 3.18 Jin & Sun Kwon 3.19 Jack Shephard 3.20 Karen & Gerald DeGroot 3.21 Charlie Pace 3.22-23 Benjamin Linus Remember Ben said he was born on the island and not many could say that... So what has been affecting women wasn't a original problem with the island.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 08:21 AM) I have learned one thing... never ever doubt Sayid. Second that! Sayid has yet to be proven wrong.
  5. This is truly sad for me. Everyone has a favorite writer, actor, filmmaker, singer...etc. that in someway inspires you. They become the foundation of that creative side of you. Kurt Vonnegut was that man for me. His humor, his insight, his wisdom shaped me at a young age and continues to shape me as a man. He saw the horrors that man can do first hand and still found grand humor in life. I take those lessons everywhere I walk. He infused great essays on the decline of humanity with incredible humor and imagination. He made you think how you lived your life and grateful you didn't live it like many in his books. There was never more an original voice in Literature than his in the second half of the 20th century. Now he is dead. So it goes... If you have never read a book by him, start. Pick up Cat's Cradle, Slaughterhouse 5, Hocus Pocus, Timequake, Welcome to the Monkey House, The Sirens of Titan, etc. Do so...Even if it was his fault that Thornton Melon got an F on his English paper.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:00 PM) And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you pesky kids! I always found them "meddling"
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) Did someone have a "Turn back the calendar" day and not tell me about it? It sure looks and feels like January outside... No but my Weather Creating Machine is working!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!! Kneel before Ribbie!!!
  8. At the end of the Ad isn't that Frank as a White Sox? Looks like they tried to digitally remove the logo off the helmet and jersey. I PROTEST THAT!!!
  9. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) I for one thought Bobby was gonna get killed for sure after that fight. Hearing Tony's rendition of Under the boardwalk was one of the funniest things that show has come up with. Im not sure what yet but you know something is gonna come of Bobby being careless and just dropping the gun after he killed that guy. I don't think so. First, outside the heat of the moment, Tony is more like his mom. He will use psychological warfare on Bobby...hence his first kill. On the subject of Bobby getting pinched because of the gun. He won't.They are taught to drop the gun because they are usually stolen and untraceable. If you recall the gun Tony dropped in the snow is only connected to him via eyewitness...not its registration. BTW...who doesn't play "free parking" rules!?!
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 08:23 AM) Chaos, please post those every week. Good read. He was great last season, especially during the "Tony in Limbo" episodes. I look forward to reading thsi guy every week. It solidifies what a great series it is on so many levels.

    The Sopranos

I was shocked not to find a thread for the final season on here. We had such wonderful disucssions during the past season. So here it is... EPISODE 1 of 9 "Soprano's Home Movies" HEY! A loose end getting revisited. In a move that is a bit out-of-character for "The Sopranos", we flashed back to 2004 when Johnny Sack got pinched by the FBI. We finally got to see what Tony did when he fled from the Feds. He threw his gun away and some kid found it... Three years later this kid gets picked up by the local police and fingers Tony as the owner of the gun. David Chase again loves to show us that Tony's past will always haunt him. No matter what he thinks is over. This is brought into chillingly clear focus during a funny, but disturbing game of Monopoly with Janice, Bobby and Carm at the lake house. Bobby's punishment for hitting Tony? He finally has to make his "bones" and feel the guilt of killing a man. For a somewhat kind soul like Bobby, this is real torture. My fave symbolic moment? Janice's birthday gift to Tony. A DVD of the family home movies. This tells me how this final season will go. Tony is going to be forced to finally confront all his family issues. They are going to be presented to him bluntly and with clarity...he won't be able to just recall them like a scratchy, fuzzy home movie...but like a clear, vibrant DVD. A brilliant epsiode full of what we love about this show. Acting, writing, and killing. Wheee!!!! (on a personal note it's good to back after a brief hiatus)
  12. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 11:16 AM) You sir, are a guy in a Mickey Mouse costume in the middle of a bunch of guys in Goofy costumes. I salute you! No sir...I salute you
  13. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 01:26 AM) http://www.maps.com/games/africa.html 150/150....Got anything harder?!?
  14. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Mar 3, 2007 -> 01:28 AM) Hollywood has RUINED THE ART. Most American cinema is complete s*** compared to some of the film that is going on in the rest of the world. The Hollywood actor, the Hollywood production company have ruined American film. Film is the great art form of the 20th century. It combines the drama of theatre, the visuals of a painting and the words of books. The problem is that is a highly successful art form and thus it can be compromised. I find there are equal parts of art/complete sh** all over the world. India's Bollywood film system is a fine example. It churns out great films and crap faster than the USA. Most of the great foreign films we see here are on par with our independant film system. Europe makes commerical films, too. They just don't make as many as we do and thus our ratio is higher of crap. To comment on your last quote...I completly disagree. The Hollywood production company is saving the American film. Almost all the studios have an independant arm that give greater exposure to smaller films that ever before. The blockbuster allow studios to take greater chances on smaller budgeted, risker films.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) Oddly enough, Steven King is a huge fan of the show, and vice versa with the writers... Anyways, it was a nice episode, but we really didn't get a whole lot out of it. The plot really didn't advance, there wasn't any new questions posed... The episode just kinda happened. I was glad to see some of the old characters show up, but other than that, meh. Sometimes you need episodes like this. Stand alone, comedic relief...etc. It's not all serious , myterious groups, and death looming. I thought it was a strong episode. And Sawyer was on a Nickname roll!!!!
  16. Aint nobody running and me and Hangar. We got cannons!!! (though the Tribune would tell you different)

    The Office

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) I'm pissed. For some reason, my DVR did not record The Office this week or Wednesday night's American Idol. It has recorded everything else this week, so I have no clue what happened. So I missed this episode. I assume that it is not available online anywhere? Its here: http://www.fanpop.com/
  18. During a White Sox game my bubby and I were on camera A LOT and then we were featured on Sportscenter and local TV because of our antics towards Jamie Navarro during a game in 1998. We were even commented on by Hawk and Wimpy...who laughed and said "That ain't right..." Here's an article about what we did: http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_...21/ai_n10416292
  19. All joking aside...Personally I think there are actually serious issues here. I believe this is more than a "spoiled rich girl with a drug problem" She could be suffering from an extreme case of Post Partum depression. Many women, stronger and more stable than her have succumbed to it. It's not a pretty sight and a serious illness. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postpartum_depression
  20. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Feb 20, 2007 -> 12:27 PM) Two interesting notes mentioned in the story are that the room is on the 14th floor, which in reality is the 13th floor. Also, add up the numbers 1408. 22?
