QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 12:29 AM) lol. I've been waiting all day for you to see this thread and reply. Cheers, glad I could make your day. By the way, the answer to the question is C, supermassively full of s***.

"Talent, naturally, trumps everything. And that's why, Williams said Wednesday, the organization drafted his son, Kenny Williams Jr., in the sixth round in 2008 against the GM's wishes. The Cubs were apparently going to draft the younger Williams, so the Sox draft team scooped him up first, Williams said." Now, Mr. Williams...would you say you're completely full of s***, or totally full of s***?

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 04:38 PM) Funny thing is, Septimo was already in Birmingham. He was on Arizona's AA team, who are currently in town to play the Barons. I think the White Sox traded Gaby Hernandez to Arizona as some sort of indirect compensation. He was assigned to their AAA team. Broke that at 4:30.

FWIW, Aaron is has great character.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) The centerpiece of the Jake Peavy trade was let go by the Pads today. The White Sox already re-acquired Dexter Carter. Any chance they look to do the same with Poreda? DFA'd, still not officially let go.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) Really? I thought when we got him, he was supposed to be a plus fielder at 3B? Not in this universe.

QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) I keep watching Kuhn's stats . Is he that good? How high is his ceiling and when will he be moved to Charlotte? Yes. He could be a prototype leadoff hitter. Soon I imagine, him and Drew Garcia will probably swap places after the first half is over.

How about that, the light hitting Dash light up a stud pitching prospect.

I see a switch to first base or left field in Jon Gilmore's future. He's is one of the most awkward looking fielders I've ever seen. He also sub-marines all his throws to first base. I think I know why he doesn't hit for more power. He certainly hits the ball hard, but he hunches over when he's batting. He's a big, strong kid, has horse legs. I just think if he straightened up, he could drive the ball out of the park more.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 10:44 AM) Reed's scouting report says plus slider, good fastball, below average change. That's why he's seen as a reliever. Yep, he was impressive. Effortless, easy delivery of that 99 MPH fastball.

This leaves both Charlotte and Birmingham with one too many active players. Winston-Salem and Kannapolis have one open roster spot each.

When will people realize that when it's a 70's theme night, tie dyed shirts don't exactly make sense.

Steve, all this cat talk reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Quagmire has a cat. You're Quagmire in this recollection. Just joshing ya.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 07:20 PM) Her uncle is my congressman. I have a campaign donation for her right here.

Nick Evans? He was DFA'd by the Mets. Stash him away at AAA? I think he's only 25.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) Silverio is heating up lately. He's been up and down this year, but overall good enough to think he still has a shot. They really need to start moving guys up from Kanny to W-S. Saladino is an exception since he's coming off of an injury, but W-S has too many sub .200 batting averages on their roster. At least a third basemen who can be more productive.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) Really? Isn't he like the 30-year-old guy? 28 going on 29. I wonder who's place he's taking in Charlotte? Their roster is full. Axelrod was activated from the DL and took his roster spot in B'ham.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 12:23 PM) Nothing like starting the dream of becoming a professional baseball player, only to immediately get sent to Great Falls, Montana. I'm sure the scenery is nice there. I only live about 15 minutes away from his college. -
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) It gets even better when you enter her name in the Google machine.

It may be over for C.J. Retherford, after barely hitting over .200 for the M-Braves, he was released.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) I'm not doubting the speed thing, but at this point, it's mostly that I think Williams is hiding something. I get that he's not a good player, but I think he's talented enough to hit better than .207 or whatever he is hitting. The fact that he is now slow as compared to fast only accentuates that thought. Certain injuries will take some speed away from you, but I really can't think of anything that will turn you from fast to slow that quickly. I called .190 for the season before it started.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:21 PM) Yeah I saw he hit his 21st HR against the Barons and looked him up. Holy crap. And hitting .350, question is, who's keeping him in AA?

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:17 PM) Yes. Usually we try to as we find them, but that's not always as easy. Just wanted to make sure it was all consolidated into one thread. -
