White Sox sign Esteban Loaiza/Option Wassermann
QUOTE (The Beast @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) I still want proof. This isn't on ESPN, whitesox.com, or rotoworld.com yet. It would be a nice addition to have Loaiza back, but only if he was at AAA for a bit regaining form and getting healthy. Cowley twittered it too.

All Things Pro-Obama
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 10:47 PM) There isn't a reference to the antichrist's nationality in Revelations, so that whole thing is a crock of crap, I've read the entire book of Revelation in three versions (and generally, read a lot of the Bible). The only thing the Bible implies is that the antichrist will probably be a white male with either dominant Roman, Greek, or perhaps generally Latin blood, none of which fit Obama as far as I know. The whole discussion is crazy though, Obama doesn't fit a single description of the Antichrist except he's a great speaker. By that logic, Ronald Reagan could have been the antichrist, he was a great speaker and fit the bloodlines better than Obama does actually. For that matter, it could be Gage.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) ... yeah, so did the germans. and before i get flamed i don't think obama is hitler-esque in any way shape or form, i'm just saying the ability to control people so thoroughly is a bit creepy to me. Says the actor.

Rumor: Hillary Clinton to Concede Dem Nomination
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:20 PM) I told my wife back in December, if Clinton wins Iowa... it's over. She is the nominee. Obama would fight, but it was over. It is like a rolling stone down a hill. HOWEVER, if Obama can win Iowa, he's got a real shot. It's still hard, but the stone doesnt budge off the hill just yet. You're welcome.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) Holy cow....who is this team? I don't know, but they're giving ol' Greinke the dirty sanchez right now. The mustache means they enjoy hitting off of him.

Soxtalk General Election Poll #1
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) Can we just assume for VP Pick that the VP pick is at some level a sane choice? Because that's open ended enough that I could say "Well, what if Senator Obama chooses to run with George W. Bush"? You might respond "well that's against the law" and I'd say yes, but it's not ruled out by the poll question. Did you poke the wrong hole in your ballot?

Well, overrated or not, I'm ALWAYS gonna love Joe for 2005.

2008 General Election Discussion Thread
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:03 PM) well, I for one am a believer in the fact that this election is already over, and that Obama already has the presidency locked up (unless very incriminating video comes out). So, congrats Dems. I honestly feel that Hilldog would have been a surer bet for a democrat in office. However, I would have had a REALLY tough time voting for her.

Soxtalk General Election Poll #1
OK, for s***s and/or giggles - who would win Soxtalk's all-important electoral votes? I'd like to run one of these polls at the beginning of each month (if I remember) with a variety of questions included, like exit polls. I've got an idea of which way this site leans, but, hey - I'm going to be a social studies teacher. Polls and stuff like this gets me up in the morning.

Changes coming by Tuesday?
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:34 PM) If we can get Masterson, I'd throw Swisher in the deal. Why is everyone so eager to deal Swisher?

Changes coming by Tuesday?
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) What would be your proposal in the event they did make a push for him, then? I have no idea. We're not really a good trading partner from what I can see. They'd probably want bullpen help (Adam Russell?) in addition to any centerpiece.

Changes coming by Tuesday?
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) You think trading Swish, PK, and Crede for Kemp is a stupid idea, yet you propose we get Either?? Who do you plan on trading for him- OC straight up? Come on. I don't think I ever proposed a trade for him. I simply said I'd love him as a White Sox.

Mother Nature vs. State of Iowa
- So really?
I see Getz on the big league squad at some point this year and as our backup IF next year. I wonder if he's got any ability to backup at 3B?- Changes coming by Tuesday?
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 07:47 PM) At this point, Swisher and Konerko shouldn't even count as starters. And yeah, Ethier-Anderson-Quentin would be a pretty sick defensive outfield. I don't see Anderson starting for us unless Swisher's leg falls off, and I don't see us moving Swisher any time soon for all we've invested in him.- Changes coming by Tuesday?
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) If the Dodgers wanted to get gutsy, they could deal Ethier to the Sox for Orlando Cabrera. They would play OC at SS until Furcal comes back and could than slide him to 2B (again, this is probably very unrealistic). Its more me loving Ethier and trying anyway way to come up with some talent wise that would be a fair deal. We share a mancrush, I see.- Changes coming by Tuesday?
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) While Colletti loves his veterans, I doubt he's stupid. So far Dewitt has outproduced Crede, and Loney, Kemp, and Eithier have outproduced Konerko and Swisher. And when I say outproduced, I mean offensively and defensively. If LA does eventually trade one of their OF's, I think it'd be Eithier before Kemp. Of course they'd love to unload one of Pierre or Jones first, but it will be tough for them to do that unless they throw in lots of cash and take them for practically nothing. I'd love to see Ethier roaming around LF and Q in RF for us. And yea, Colletti wouldn't do that deal, but it also wouldn't make sense for us to deal three starters for one. - So really?
