QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 12:45 AM) Am I to believe of the 17 outs recorded by Day only 1 hasn't been via the strikeout? This guy must have a slider comparable to Brad Lidge. And a fastball fairly close. Yes. That's why the Sox put him on the 40 man. And his real first name is Amos.- Where KW is going with this team
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 12:26 AM) You shouldn't believe everything anything you read in Sports Illustrated. Heh. Good call.- Where KW is going with this team
Flash, have I gotten you on the Eggy bandwagon? Santana and the Twins broke off talks in the last week.- (Breaking News) 2016 Olympic Announcement
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) Now I think this bring upon the question...when do the Olympics finally make it to Ames, Iowa? The Special Olympics were there this summer, if that's what you're getting at...- White Sox vs. Indians, 4/15/07 (L)
If we make the playoffs, Greasy may mandate that I start the threads.- White Sox vs. Indians, 4/15/07 (L)

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 11:26 PM) Which he neither did during Spring training nor is he doing so now.- An Observation About Erstad
QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 11:20 PM) Well, I agree...I'm not that optimistic about Anderson but I do think Anderson is actually more likely to have a some semblance of an offensive impact than Erstad. It's just that it's clear to me that it won't be with the Sox while Guillen is managing. You can look at a guy like Cuddyer in MN as an example of someone who put it together around age 26 or 27 after some fairly mediocre seasons. I'm sure someone will point out that Cuddyer was a much better prospect, but whatever...the point is that I think relegating Anderson to the scrap heap is silly after one bad season. But, I can honestly understand that a team built to contend might not want to take a chance on Anderson again. So it would be best for everyone if he was traded, and somehow the Sox brought in a CF that they were willing to start over Erstad. BA was the #37 prospect in all of baseball in 05. I just think that Sox prospects take a little longer to work out the kinks, or something.- 4/14 Games - Day with 16 K in 5.2 IP this year
Day is downright silly. This is why hes on the 40 man.- An Observation About Erstad
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 11:09 PM) Yeah, that worked great last year. 3rd place. woo. None of those nine pitched for us last year.- An Observation About Erstad
QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 05:31 PM) The Sox don't have anyone to start in CF other than Erstad. And before anyone says something Brian Anderson -- Anderson isn't good enough defensively to replace Pods in late inning situations. He's obviously not a starting major league CF. I dearly hope that's sarcasm.- 4/14 Games - Day with 16 K in 5.2 IP this year

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) That plus 2006. I forgot that 25 year olds never progress from year to year. I mean, it's not like he outplayed Erstad this spring.- White Sox vs. Indians, 4/14/07 (L)
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) None. There shouldn't be any. I wanna at least see some decent swings from anderson because so far he looks far more clueless than he should, regardless of playing time. Are you drawing this from his one game he's played? Are you saying he can't outplay GrindErstad's .176?- White Sox vs. Indians, 4/14/07 (L)
Give me one f***ing reason Erstad should start tomorrow.- White Sox vs. Indians, 4/13/07 (W)
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) He was hanging on the railing laughing it up with Garland in the bottom of the 9th. One tends to relax when he gets primo seats in the dugout with the team for 160 games a year.- White Sox vs. Indians, 4/13/07 (W)
I wonder if Ozzie just told him to stay in Chicago.- White Sox vs. Indians, 4/13/07 (W)
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) Erstad belongs in CF. Put Anderson in left or right. I'd rather put him in right. Dye's bad out there. I'd rather put our best CF in center.- Recruiting Thread
Vette signs with ISU.- FutureSox Interview: Kanekoa Texeira
FutureSox Interview: Kanekoa Texeira By FutureSox Staff Kanekoa Texeira was just a 22nd round draft pick for the White Sox in the 2006 draft. Although it was the second time he was drafted (2004 – 31st Round – Milwaukee), he didn’t gather any headlines. The native Hawaiian has since been on fire since joining the system, going 1-2 with a 1.54 ERA between Bristol and Kannapolis, as well as having the special distinction of having the best slider in the organization as rated by Baseball America. Kanekoa took some time to sit down with FutureSox.com to answer some questions....MORE- Recruiting Thread
