Dodgers aggressively pursuing Alexei
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 22, 2014 -> 11:34 AM) You've been all over me lately. So because I project LaRoche to perform slightly worse than his Steamer projection I've lost all credibility? Come on -- I thought you were better than that. I just don't like you, clown. This is some Batman s*** going down. I am the dark avenger and you will be crushed.

QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 22, 2014 -> 11:29 AM) And SEMIEN goddammit. SEMIEN. You've lost all credibility - long ago... So even if I agree with something you say... It's just ignored now... Clown.

Predict The Next Move
QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 10:38 PM) I think another possibility for the Sox next move could Edinson Volquez. He's right handed, can slot in as a #3, looking for a 2-3 year deal at around 9-10M annually. Would leave the Sox with money to spend elsewhere. If somehow Hahn was able to deal Danks, were looking at a rotation of Sale, Q, Volquez, Rodon and Noesi with Bassitt as the #6 long man in the pen. Not too shabby. That would be nice indeed.... But a gamble. There might be a better RHSP option for us in the cards.

White Sox sign Adam LaRoche
QUOTE (ptatc @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 10:14 PM) you mean like the career .510 slg that Dunn had before coming to the cell. If LaRoche is Dunn part 2 - I'll probably vomit in the clown guys shoes. It's highly unlikely he has such a HISTORICALLY HORRID first year with the sox like Dunn. Throwing that year out - Dunn slugged over .430 with us in his other years. I understand the fear with this being Dunn part two but they're totally different offensive players for their careers. Look at the strike outs for example.

QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 10:00 PM) Ok. You're on. My entrance into this madness needs to also have one disclosure - no matter what happens - at some point in 2015 my signature will make reference to you... Clown.

White Sox sign Adam LaRoche
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 09:47 PM) Would you like to make a low stakes Internet bet? I bet you that LaRoche slugs lower than .430 next year. Care to try it? If I lose, I'll change my avatar to the picture above. If you lose, you'll admit that you're a good for nothing troll. What do you think? A career.470+ slg player in the cell... Um... Yea, I'll take that bet man.

White Sox sign Adam LaRoche
QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 09:26 PM) Melky Cabrera wRC+ by season: 2006, 130 games - 98 wRC+ 2007, 150 games - 89 wRC+ 2008, 129 games - 68 wRC+ 2009, 154 games - 94 wRC+ 2010, 147 games - 77 wRC+ 2011, 155 games - 118 wRC+ 2012, 113 games - 151 wRC+ 2013, 88 games - 86 wRC+ 2014, 139 games - 125 wRC+ So, he was a rich man's Gordon Beckham for about 5 seasons. Then he becomes Alejandro De Aza. Then, well, we know what happened in 2012. Then he plays like s***. Then he plays pretty well last year. I think we can toss out 2012, since he was unambiguously on steroids. This definitely casts doubt on what was going on with his improvement in 2011, but who knows about that. He had an injury-riddled, crap season in 2013 after the steroid suspension. He played well last year, with an ISO at a level he has only had previously in 2011 and 2012. To me, you're taking a big risk on a guy like that. Either way, there's no sense in freaking out about us getting LaRoche as if that has any real bearing on a possible Cabrera acquisition. I particularly don't want to give up a draft pick to sign Melky Cabrera, and we didn't have to do that with LaRoche. That was actually a post that changed my mind about Cabrera... Before I was on the fence and now I'm off it. Pass - better options will come to pass.

White Sox sign Adam LaRoche
QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 08:55 PM) Melky will end up making about 3-4 million more per year than LaRoche. It's worth that extra money to get a decent f***ing player. But your previous posts tell me that I might as well be talking to a rock... And I don't mean Raines. HONK. Let's keep the clown discourse for our lovely exchanges on clowntalk.com.

White Sox sign Adam LaRoche
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 06:52 PM) Is Tank even movable in a power-starved market? I guess we'll know soon enough. Hopefully it'll either be he's moved for someone or he's moved out the door for a cool few million dollars of savings... DFA style.

White Sox sign Adam LaRoche
That's what the Oklahoma Song Bird is all about boys! Love it and there's plenty more s*** to come. I actually told my physical therapist ( who hates LaRoche since he always slaughtered his Dodgers ) that I wanted him on the Sox. The therapist responded, "you know your baseball - he's a great piece on a winning team... But I hate him too much to ever want him in dodger Blue."

QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 01:27 PM) I hear ya. I'm interested to see what happens on December 2 with non-tenders, but pitchers and catchers don't report for three months. Plenty o' time. Oh, the agony. I'm off to continue my studies of the Oklahoma Song Bird.

Dodgers aggressively pursuing Alexei
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) everything on this front seems to have died down. anyone heard anything? The Oklahoma native Song Bird likes to clean it's young hatchlings by brushing s*** all over its feathers. Specifically, this ritualistic event takes place in the winter months and blood stained s*** is commonly refered to as the best available s*** for cleaning purposes. One should note that the Oklahoma Song Bird is eight feet high when standing on its hind legs. Residents living around their nests have been warned by the CDC to wear hasmat suits while outside.

Tyler Flowers Trade Tree
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 12:06 PM) http://grantland.com/features/mlb-transaction-trees/ Really cool piece on long trade trees for each MLB team. Flowers is our oldest. Starting with Lee being traded for Vizcaino who then went with Chris Young and Orlando Hernandez to Arizona for Javy Vazquez who gave us flowers. Some in here (the D-backs) are really intriguing. It also showed me that there was another Adam Eaton in baseball back in the 90s.

Does spending more now to renegotiate their tv rights deal make sense?
QUOTE (MDWhiteSoxFan @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 06:53 AM) Let's get real the President of the United State of America is one of us... Let's just take some of the federal taxes collected each year and pump that into our payroll. You're funny. Post more. Oh, and welcome. May we share many poops together.

Dodgers aggressively pursuing Alexei
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 10:56 PM) Which means you can essentially forget about any of the "premium" free agents in the top 10-20, and that probably includes Melky Cabrera. I read his statement of outbidding a little differently: As in if they have a set price that is offered and it's tops - the same lash happens... If another team ups our offer and a bidding war is beginning to form - it's peace out. No water for us then. - Kenny Williams

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 09:54 PM) Id keep an eye on one of those guys that are free agents next year as well. There are a few that fit with what they are trying to do. Right on man. Hit me up some time PM style - lets talk shop about the little ones.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 09:45 PM) A little. I'm a way behind on PM's and I'm hoping to get a chance to do a summary. Lots of action for sure. The sox are trying to get better in probably four positions. Hit me with a summary of anything you know and feel comfortable sharing - por favor. Cheers Daddy-O.
