  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) Interesting that AJ is basically pulling the same stuff that Maggs pulled, but no one is calling him a greedy SOB and wishing we don't sign him for it. :banghead what the f*** are you talking about?
  2. according to rotoworld at 11:41 AM Thrusday January 6th "Free agent Esteban Loaiza will not be playing in the MLB nor any Mexican League. This is due to the fact that some outside source, beleved to be a Califiornian named Trevor Caesar, has bought Esteban's services for a reported 3 year 24 million dollar deal. Mr. Caesar plans to use Esteban for his 7 year old sons batting pratice."
  3. i dont know if any of you explored the japanball site but there are some funny pictures on there... i think going to a game might be more fun in japan... they do a ballon release instead of take me out to the ball game in the 7th... the have a drummer keeping a beat to coreagraphed chanting... and the 7 dwarfs to take pictures with crack heads anyone? wow... they even do habichi barbacue lab feasts! http://www.japanball.com/gallery2.htm
  4. i cant believe how ass hurt some of you guys get on this board... its an internet message board... calm down, its not like your wife is leaving you... its not like your girlfriend is f***ing your best friend of a horse.... someone, somewhere, dosent agree with you... leave it at that... ..... or continue to get all but hurt and cry..cry..cry all the way back home to momma so you can get some more milk and chill the f*** out. something like that

  6. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 08:38 AM) I find it funny that when most everyone on this and other Sox message boards were calling for Rowand's head and saying he would never be an everyday player, that I was one of the few predicting his success as a full-time player. you make it sound like you were the only one. tisk task.... there was much support for arow... not as much cynism as support, but still there were a large few who were on his side.

  12. how about we all shut the f*** up and get OUR collective heads out of OUR collective asses and stick to the topic.... uhh, sorry, that was my other personality, hes a real dickhead... pay no mind to him... what i really wanted to say was: gentelmen and kind sir's... please refrain from argumentitive statements and slanders, as they are not necessary.... let us all kindly accept eachothers point of views and move on.
  13. QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 04:22 AM) I'll most definitely take those 3 players over Carlos Lee. what he said.... i dont understand how some of you look at this trade as lee for pods and vizcaino... its those 2 AND el duque.... maybe you might need some contacts or glasses? if pods can hit .260 and steal 45 bags... with vizciano being a good bp presence... in addition to the possibilty of an allstar in el duque.... this trade might be lopsided, in our favor... it might also turn out that pods hits .200 steals 20 bags, vizciano gets lit up, and el duque only starts 5 games... making this trade lopsided, in the brewcrews favor... time will tell, one can only hope. yeah, something like that.
  14. i just read in the mailbag responce part of chisox.com that we KW is believed to have offered AJ a deal that is "signif**antly lower then his 3.5 million dollar salary from last year." my question is, if there is such a need for catchers in MLB and AJ can be had for around 3.5 million... why should we believe that he will sign for us for less then what he just got paid... when he did a good job last season? also, why should we believe that another club hasnt offered him something close to what he got last year?
  15. this cd isnt out until march 2005: 1. mars volta - frances the mute This is a cd from 1978: 2. (honerable mention- dredg 2004 croquett demo) prediction for best 2005 cds: 1. new dredg 2. new mars volta 3. new tool 4. new nin 5. new opeth there no conologily to this list

  18. this dude... or more adiquatly put... duke.. freaking ROCKS your badass man, enjoy the sox, its a wild ride sometimes but hey, at least its funner then knowing what your team will do every year (ala: yankees)
  19. "Now, do you expect Contreras to out-pitch Loaiza? Uh, yeah, probably, given that he did last season. Do you expect Garcia to out-pitch Schoeneweis for the other half of the season? Absolutely. Hermanson to out-pitch Mike Jackson? Probably. Takatsu to out-pitch Billy Koch's half season? Yeah. Marte to pitch better? Probably. Do you see a trend here?" johnny_mostil on the WSI board
  20. an error at soxtalk.... i call for someones head!!!! look at my avatar, im a badass and will kill everyone now... hi8is for mod
  21. you already said that... am i missing something or was it a mistake?
  22. another thing i noticed about last season, is consistancy... looks like hes a bit like uribe... he is streaky... look april - .254 71 AB may - .384 73 AB june - .182 66 AB july - .188 48 AB aug. - .288 66 AB end - .258 85 AB two good months... 2 acceptable months... and 2 bad months if you take out his 2 bad months you would have.... .291 in 295 AB looks like he hit a really bad slump in june that lasted until july.... if he could stop from doing that... and continue to make strides in improvement... i could see him hitting .270 - .290.... and thats more then good enough for me.... work on working the count, stealing bases, and hitting LHP and harris just might succeed harris, crede, davis, and burke will be the position players im most intrested to see what happens... i think harris and crede will make good strides (crede breaking out the most, harris breaking out solid) and one of the catchers will be productive enough to become the definitive starter in all our minds (my money is on davis) another bright side is that he improved his hitting against RHP .059 points last year compared to 2003...
  23. also, when did that maggs/harris injury deal happen? EDIT im moving this discussion to the harris thread
  24. EDIT: another thing i noticed about last season, is consistancy... looks like hes a bit like uribe... he is streaky... look april - .254 71 AB may - .384 73 AB june - .182 66 AB july - .188 48 AB aug. - .288 66 AB end - .258 85 AB two good months... 2 acceptable months... and 2 bad months if you take out his 2 bad months you would have.... .291 in 295 AB looks like he hit a really bad slump in june that lasted until july.... if he could stop from doing that... and continue to make strides in improvement... i could see him hitting .270 - .290.... and thats more then good enough for me.... work on working the count, stealing bases, and hitting LHP and harris just might succeed harris, crede, davis, and burke will be the position players im most intrested to see what happens... i think harris and crede will make good strides (crede breaking out the most, harris breaking out solid) and one of the catchers will be productive enough to become the definitive starter in all our minds (my money is on davis)
  25. harris showed a lot of ability, potential, and did improve last year a lot if he could settle in at 2B his defence (which is good already) would get even better.... that added comfort of him earning that position out of spring traning may do good things for him as well... he hit well last year .279 with a .366 OBP against RHP... another bright side is that he improved his hitting against RHP .059 points last year compared to 2003... i think it is possible and likely to see his numbers against RHP go up again in 2005.... i remember he did well durring the end, even hitting 5 for 5 in one game. if he could just learn how to hit left handers, he would be fine... with rock raines our first base coach, and with scotty "speed demon pods" harris will also be able to improve his stole bases total A TON... imo i think it would be very wise to have another second baseman to fall back on/platoon VS LHP but if it isnt someone like Cairo who has proven he hits consistantly around .280 - .300 vs LHP.. then i just say we gotta bit the bullet and really work harris to the bone against LHP this offseason and try to get him ready to do better.
