  1. Does this move facilitate Flowers moving to 1B? I think the world of Pena's stuff and I'm glad we're getting him. I just thought Allen was Thome's replacement next year...guess not.
  2. I said no, but I'm really proud of the way the WSox have played and what their future looks like.
  3. Awesome work as usual...much appreciated and thank you!
  4. I was @ Miller on Saturday and I reside in the Milwaukee area. I went with a fan who is a die-hard Brewers fan. The WSox fan base presented themselves extremely well this weekend...as did the WSox themselves. It was great to see them play at Miller Park. I hope to see them there for seasons to come.
  5. All of this negativity....and the WSox are only 5.5 games out of 1st. It's a long season, guys. We all have this football mentality that every game feels like a mus win game. That's just not the case over a 162 game season. You've got to be able to tread water and learn to have a temperament for the long season. I feel that's what makes this site so great is that most of the posters have a baseball mentality and understand this...but it has been getting away from some of us lately with all of our recent success through the years.
  6. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 21, 2009 -> 12:16 AM) I don't think this is the best deal they can get. I agree...but it depends how much they like Poreda and who the other players involved in the deal are. It may be wishful thinking on our part, but it's also plausible for San Diego.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 08:19 PM) Miller's turnover really sucked, and we didn't let Rose do his thing. You've got to isolate him with a minute left with the lead, run the clock, and let him take it to the hole. At worst, he draws a foul. Agreed...he didn't need the screener to blow by Rondo.
  8. QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 08:02 PM) you obviously didn't watch the game. I think he meant in the final minute, but yeah...they played well enough for the Bullies to win tonight. Gotta hand it to Ray for nailing every big 3 at the end of the game. The Bulls lost this game when they were up 5 with two and a half minutes to go and couldn't put it away.
  9. Some of those offensive rebounds were just long rebounds off of long misses that turned into 50/50's. The Bullies were great tonight, however, I don't want to see Brad Miller put the ball on the floor every other play and get it stripped in G3. That was a failure by the coaching staff to not adjust to that. Rose didn't need the screen in the 2nd half as Rondo hobbled around...all the screener did was clog it up and get in the way.
  10. This poll really speaks to me.
  11. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) McDaniels KNEW what Denver had when he accepted that job, and he still wanted Matt Cassel instead of Jay Cutler. That tells me enough right there. Its either going to work out or its not, I still think Denver is better positioned overall now from this deal. Which makes me wonder how the hell Bowlen ever hired McDaniels in the first place. I wonder if he actually said in the interview process..."Yeah I'd like to get rid of that QB you have. I'll bring in a real winner. Who needs 4500 yards passing?"
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) I seriously hope Earl Bennett goes absolutely nuts this year. He, Williams and Hillenmeyer are happy mates. Bennett set a Vandy Frosh Record with Cutler throwing him the ball in '05...
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) Bottom line is that McDaniels should have been the biggest Cutler supporter. Ding Ding Ding!! I don't care who you are...you make your system fit Cutler if you have to. Unless you're running the wishbone or some crazy college offense...Cutler had better fit your system. Joke is on McDaniels because he has neckbeard.
  14. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) I don't even give a s*** about Denver. However, I think Matt Cassel isn't any good and was just a product of McDaniels system so until someone goes into that system and is a complete failure there really is no reason to think its not going to work. Does Randy Moss come with that system in, too?
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) Color me incredibly unconvinced on Cassel. Agreed. We'll have to wait and see how he fairs in KC. I can see where he'd be appealing to a guy like McDaniels to run his system again.........if he would've went somewhere like KC that is and not had Cutler already on his roster in Denver!
  16. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) If forced to I think they may have. They were prepared to decide on possibly losing Briggs or Forte with the two number one's. I was relieved the Bears didn't have to part with any of their current players, but was more than prepared to happily have the Bears do so if need be.
  17. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Brady Quinn? Aaron Rodgers? You would be hard pressed to see ANYONES mock having either of them fall into the 20's in their draft years. Rodgers, I agree, was a surprise. However that's just how the draft fell that year. If Rodgers would've went #1 to SF, Smith would have fallen like Rodgers did. Quinn, on the other hand, was said to be a "2nd Round Pick" by plenty of NFL Execs leading up to the draft. I haven't heard anywhere regarding Sanchez as a 2nd Rounder.
  18. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) Yes, that is right. McDaniels already tried to deal him once and it didn't work, clearly, he has no issues with his team not having Jay Cutler at QB. Bowlen MIGHT be, however, he could have easily said "Look, he is our franchise QB and we aren't trading him" which he DID say, and then look at where we are now. If they really wanted Cutler to be their QB, he would be. Ummm that's because he was dealing for Cassell in the initial scenario. Now...he's stuck with neckbeard. You'd better believe he's nervous.
  19. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Oh really? The Bears traded two firsts and two seconds for Jay Cutler? Didn't say that. Said he would have been worth it for the Bears IMO if deemed necessary by Angelo.
  20. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) I don't think Josh McDaniels or Pat Bowlen are sweating losing Cutler Yeah....right.
  21. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) There isn't a single player in the NFL right now that is worth two firsts and two seconds. To the Bears? Cutler is...
  22. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) Sanchez was not that great of a college quarterback to be a sure thing and to be anyone's "guy". I do not trust USC quarterbacks as they have more weapons than any other college team. Yeah I never said I liked Sanchez, either. I'd much rather see more than just 16 starts, which is all he's had. However QBs are always way overvalued in drafts and Sanchez has wowed people in workouts lately. I'll call the 49ers to grab him at 10 if he's there.
  23. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) They didn't even win their division last year, why are they now the favorites with the same team as is? They lost their last 4 games of the year to lose by a game...they were close and a very young football team. Bringing back one of the best offenses in the game along with the natural maturation process of a young team, I'd think it's fair to say they would've at least contended for the AFC West in '09. Forget about that now. So as I said...Denver got the better of nothing. It isn't even because I'm a Bears fan or anything...trading Cutler was a very horrible thing for Denver.
  24. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) lol my Vikings fan friend has told me to f*** off about 5 times. HA! Being told to f*** off so many times has never felt so good.
