  1. QUOTE (Felix @ May 14, 2010 -> 06:03 PM) So in the last two days, I (in this order): a.) graduated college b.) got my first car c.) came home to find my computer not booting up d.) got hit by a school bus on first day driving said car (nothing serious, scraped the back bumper and a little crack in the left tail light) e.) got computer to boot up by unplugging and replugging the power 3 times f*** life. This post started off like it was going to say your events kept getting better, then, not so much.
  2. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ May 14, 2010 -> 12:35 AM) I wonder what the TV numbers were for tonight. With Chicago, NY, NJ, and LA all hoping the Cavs lose you'd have to imagine the TV numbers rivaled a NBA finals game. lol, seriously Also: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id...-3-gms-think-so It's kind of hard to process what that lineup would actually be able to accomplish if this were to happen... that's not just a contender, that would be comparable to the 80s Celtics, Magic's Lakers, and 90s Bulls. This would lock up the East for the Bulls until about 2017 and then when the players get older it might get competitive again. It'd be like playing the Eastern All-Stars.
  3. It wasn't one bad game Bobby, have you seen your stats?
  4. lol reply to me on FB to a guy who said (paraphrasing) "f*** LeBron we want Bosh" And @ keith get off dat losers nut sack we want CB4 he's a better pick up for da bulls everybody who's a real bulls fan knows dis man lol. Sorry but no.
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2010 -> 11:03 PM) i know mike brown is only a year removed from being coach of the year, and the cavs had the best record in the NBA, but can anyone really say that this guy has done a good job with that team? I certainly wouldn't No
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 13, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) lol. I meant about wanting no part of Calipari. Oh that. I totally knew that. lol.
  7. LeBron wanted a foul but he traveled his ass off there
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 13, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) At least he's half right. And lol@the Cavs. About Jordan yeah. Everything else makes me think he's been eating shrooms or something. Yes LeBron is a douchebag. I don't care, I don't get attached to players like that and I'm a total hypocrite about it if the team is winning.
  9. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic....0&t=1010142 OH. MY. GOD.
  10. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 13, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) This is what I think. A lot of people "hate" Lebron but if he was on your team you'd love him. As well as all of the stuff that makes him an "egomaniac" etc. all of the other BS that people complain about. The guy has fun playing ball. Who cares if he has his little routine & dancing & handshakes. If you wanna stop him from doing it, then beat him. The thing is, he does all that, and he hasn't won s*** yet.
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 11, 2010 -> 01:57 PM) So we trade our performers and keep those who don't perform? Not much sense in that Have you ever pruned a rose bush or done something similar? Think of it like that. It might seem counterintuitive to cut away seemingly healthy parts of the bush, but what you're actually doing is setting the bush up in a way that it comes back stronger.
  12. QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 13, 2010 -> 10:32 AM) [/b] tax money won't go towards ones that advocate overthrowing the government or promote hatred of other races. a non issue being sensationalized. these type of racial hatred classes shouldn't be tax funded, that is for sure. Prohibits a school district or charter school from including in its program of instruction any courses or classes that: 1 Promote the overthrow of the United States government. Ok, sounds reasonable, no argument from me, in fact I wasn't even aware people really needed to be told not to do this 2 Promote resentment toward a race or class of people. Ok I guess, seen purely at face value, that's reasonable too, but sometimes when you look at history accurately, it's not pretty, and an argument can be made that teaching this could lead to resentment of a "race or class of people" (i.e., "I hate whitey because he snatched this land from my ancestors" or something like that) 3 Are designed primarily for pupils of a particular ethnic group. What does this mean exactly? Is Hispanic history only for Hispanics? Is black history only for blacks? Isn't this purely subjective? 4 Advocate ethnic solidarity instead of the treatment of pupils as individuals. Again, this means pretty much nothing and amounts to political grandstanding. I agree that history class is for learning history and not for teaching "pride" (incidentally, I wrote this on my Facebook status earlier today: "Pride is not a virtue, usually it's just a weak, and sometimes transparent, way of concealing a lack of legitimate reasons for justified self-worth") but we're not supposed to be teaching kids "how to be patriotic" in school either and we shouldn't be avoiding teaching facts just because they're inconvenient.
  13. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ May 12, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) Buy a new bulb and use that receipt instead. Holy s*** this seems so obvious that I'm ashamed that I didn't think of it.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 11, 2010 -> 09:16 AM) all dislike would be out the door the second LeBron slipped on a Bulls jersey. If we can forgive Rodman, we can certainly let Lebron in the door. QFT
  15. QUOTE (T R U @ May 10, 2010 -> 11:02 PM) You could also say there is no reason to have either of those players on the roster as well.. and Ozzie couldnt do these things if KW didnt make it all available to happen.. And I get what you were saying, I was just throwing it out there I didn't mind Kotsay being brought back because he's a good pinch hitter and occasional backup when he's used that way, but Ozzie seems to think he's basically an everyday player. Vizquel, well, there really isn't much defending that move.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2010 -> 03:26 PM) Ick. Even I don't like that. Don't like the picture or don't like the idea of LeBron being a Bull?
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 10, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Anyone else think Coop should slap Bobby until he throws his hammer curve again? As long as it doesn't mean a potential arm injury.
  18. I know this team is f***ing horrible, but I still miss White Sox baseball today
  19. Fiber optic doesn't go through a phone line... it's its own thing. Actually the phone line and the coax line come from the same box. Insert southsideirish at some point in this thread
  20. You left off fiber, fiber > cable. I have Verizon and I am on 25 mpbs, the difference is the upload speed is also 25 mpbs. Why a home user would need more than that is beyond me actually. What's taking AT&T so long to get Uverse out?
  21. I bought a CFL bulb last week and it blew out already. What in the f***... I know it has a warranty but you need to keep the box (I actually did) AND the proof of purchase. Who actually keeps proof of purchase on a light bulb? I must have 20 or 30 CFL bulbs in my house, when one is bad that's just money down the s***ter.
  22. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 10, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) So, in the aftermath of having a second child it seems a bill slipped through the cracks and we got a collections notice. OOPS! Not the end of the world - just pay it and it'll go away, it probably won't show up on your credit
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 10, 2010 -> 08:24 AM) I'm pretty sure he's said that if he was ever approached with a trade for the good of the organization he'd accept it. Yeah, that's more or less what he said.
  24. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 10, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) She said "When the Senate ceases to engage nominees in meaningful discussion of legal issues, the confirmation process takes on an air of vacuity and farce, and the Senate becomes incapable of either properly evaluating nominees or appropriately educating the public." Most of the time the confirmation process is used by the opposition for political grandstanding and trying to score points with their constituency for re-election. It has nothing to do with actually determining if they will vote for the person... they already know how they will vote! exactly. Also same reason people like for nominees to be judges the last couple of decades. That way it makes it really easy for someone to support/attack a nominee's specific positions since the Supreme Court is so nakedly partisan anymore. Debating over "qualifications" is really just a fig leaf/smokescreen for political views. I didn't bother reading any liberal bloggers today - they've gotten pretty lazy on this lately and they start acting like the conservatives they criticize all the time because they just start repeating something they heard another blogger say at face value (i.e. Greenwald) and circulate that, and base their support on certain candidates based on how far to the left they're perceived to be. That's really not the point of the Supreme Court at all.
  25. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 10, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) 1st blown save and everyone's on the ledge. Saves can be a really overrated stat. This is why.
